Hello guys, I'm having some trouble. I collected some games from a friend's computer, the games installed but won't play. He says it's because I'm on lollipop. Have any of you experienced something like this before? The games in question are GTA San Andreas, asphalt 8 and Gangstar |
@encrypt hmm... Flash a custom rom? How would that affect network lock? I'll give it a go though. |
@encrypt isn't mobile uncle only for mtk phones? I haven't tried anything yet. I rooted the phone but I have installed xposed yet. I don't want to make too much changes to the software just yet. @erico2k2 I ran a google search on the imei number and it says it was blacklisted by t mobile. I also think it's locked to the t mobile network. On the center of the phone's lock screen, it says network locked. Like some people have stated on this thread, I'm beginning to think if I just do an unlock it would work with a Nigerian carrier regardless of it being blacklisted. The seller was just plain dishonest, he advertised the phone as "unlocked". Just goes to show Americans are just as bad as we are. |
@encrypt I found an xposed module that can change imei. Is that what you're talking about? A lot of people here don't bother reading comments or really thinking before they respond. 1. Konga, jumia & co don't sell used phones. 2. The phone supposedly wasn't on a contract when I bought it. I did not pay the subsidized contract rate. The seller advertised it as unlocked for use on any gsm network and that's why I bought it. 3. The amount I paid was quite reasonable considering it was being brought back to Nigeria by a friend. Probably even cheaper than I would have paid in computer village. 4. I don't think amazon does an imei and esn check on phones advertised on the site. Only swappa does that. I'm sure I've answered most of the ignorant and unnecessarily hateful comments. If you don't have anything valuable to add to the thread, move along and save your data. |
@idokojerry thanks. I haven't tried unlocking yet. When I saw blacklisted imei online I was very panicked. @Lexusgs430 will try to do that. Thanks |
Ok thanks. |
@Motivatore I had a friend who was returning to Nigeria bring it for me. |
@wildchild1 the phone imei is BLACKLISTED. I did a check online. It's not stuck on select language mode. I can do everything with the phone including browsing with wifi. I just can't use the telephony functions like SMS and phone calls. Do you have the contact of any reliable person I can contact in computer village? @Lexusgs430 I have not tried all Nigeria network providers on the phone yet, just my Etisalat SIM card. @dazekid I can't contact you on whatsapp, my phone is blocked remember . I'll give you a call before the end of the day. Are you based in Lagos? |
Hmm, ok thanks. I'll do try that. Even if I don't get a refund I can ensure the seller doesn't scam anybody else. |
@Karmanaut do you know anyone who can change imei? |
@Lexusgs430 yes, it's supposed to be an unlocked phone. I did a google search and it seems the last owner didn't complete his payment plan. I think changing the imei is the way to go but I don't know how or who can do it. |
@Karmanaut the phone is an lg g3 |

Hello house. I bought a used phone on amazon. When it arrived here in Nigeria and I put in my sim it did not work. I checked online and the imei has been blacklisted by t-mobile. Please is there any solution for this problem? Can I unlock it or have the imei changed? I can't return the phone because the cost of shipping it back is very high. Please house I need urgent help so this phone doesn't turn to a waste. Thanks. |
