Atiku did not say he was going to subsidise Dangote Refinery. He said he will subsidise the cost of fuel Nigerians use as we buy it at Dangote price. How did subsidy affect the Refineries that we whr buying it from when Dangote Refinery was not operating. Is Dangote Refinery servicing only Nigerian market. How about when we allocated a particular quentity of crude to be refined for Nigerians.

The economy, security, infrastructure must be put in place first, after making many profit and we have the capacity to subsidies for 5 years at intervals without hindrance or need to borrow to fund it year on year, then it can come.

In every functional society the government helps the poor by way of subsidies on petroleum, education,food.

The idea that government needs money from saved subsidy funds to build infrastructures is rubbish.Imf, world bank are the ones suggesting such heartless, draconian policies.

If government needs more monies let them cut down cost of running government, tackle oil theft,impose higher taxes on luxury goods,look for alternative sources of income like mining.

it seems you lack the understanding of this subsidy thing, there is no money at hand to pay the subsidy. If the globe is selling crude for 100 dollar, Nigeria previous government might sell it for 50 dollars so when they are to buy the petrol, they buy it cheap too but 50% lost on every sales. Now that subsidy is removed,the market determines the price while we take our back our profit making us able to increase Faac to state and Local government to finace projects,fund projects like roads. Health, security .
Remove sentimentsand check the government that has done the most to military, road and education and oil and gas since 1999.
