A woman was arrested for assault after squeezing breast milk into her fellow inmate’s drink.

An inmate at the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Maine, is being charged with attempted aggravated assault for squeezing her breast milk into the drink of her fellow prisoner.


Susan M. Doray, 30, of Wiscasset, is facing a number of charges for her bad behavior in prison. According to a Lincoln County Grand Jury indictment, Doray “attempted to intentionally, knowingly or recklessly cause serious bodily injury” with her breast milk.

At least 100 people have been killed, including 84 children, after Taliban gunmen stormed a military school in the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar, in one of the worst ever militant attacks to hit the troubled region.

The attack started with the gunmen entering the 500-pupil school – which has students in grades 1-10, thought to be ages 5 to 14 – in the early hours and shooting at random, going from classroom to classroom.

Doctors at St. Vincent's Hospital, said that the parasitic worm that grows up to three feet long was found in the feet of the 38-year-old man.
The man, who currently resides in Melbourne, is believed to have been living with the worm for several years.

The latest terror crisis in Gwoza local government area of Borno State has displaced more than 77 000 people from their homes.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Gwoza Christian Communities, Williams Naga, disclosed the figures while presenting food items donated by the state government to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri, the borno capital.

He said in camps for displaced persons in Maiduguri, there were 16 000 persons from Gwoza.

Naga also revealed that over 46 000 IDPs from Gwoza were currently taking refuge in nine different villages while 15 000 were staying in camps created by government outside the state capital.
He explained also that the 16,000 displaced persons from Gwoza in Maiduguri were currently taking refuge in seven camps in Maiduguri.

A Tunisian policeman has been beheaded by Islamist militants in an attack near the Algerian border, officials say.
An interior ministry spokesman said the officer and his brother had been seized from their car in the Kef area of north-west Tunisia.
The brother was later released but the officer was killed by his abductors.

The attack came as Tunisia prepares for a presidential election run-off this month in the latest stage of its transition to democracy.

More than 250,000 animals are being lined up for slaughter as Nepal embarks on a two-day religious festival where buffalo, birds and goats are sacrificed to appease a Hindu goddess.

Millions of Hindus flock to the ceremony, which is held every five years at the temple of Gadhimai, the goddess of power, in Bariyarpur, Nepal, near the Indian border.
The last time the festival was held, in 2009, more than 250,000 animals were killed, according to animal rights organisation PETA, who is campaigning to put a stop to the practice.

European Union lawmakers overwhelmingly backed a motion on Thursday urging antitrust regulators to get tough on Google and other Internet search engines and consider breaking them up.


The resolution in the European Parliament (EP), the strongest public signal of Europe's concern with the growing power of U.S. tech giants, was passed with 384 votes for versus 174 against.

"Clear adoption by EP of digital single market motion, including unbundling for search engine if needed," Spanish liberal lawmaker and co-sponsor of the bill, Ramon Tremosa said on Twitter.

This is the recommendation in a report by the University of Pretoria's Centre for Child Law director Ann Skelton, who said the two children - a boy and a girl aged four - should remain with the parents who had raised them since birth.
The report, handed to court yesterday, contains details of how the two families are dealing with the shocking news that their children were swapped at birth Skelton was appointed by the Pretoria High Court in May to investigate the best outcome to the dilemma.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) yesterday revealed that the management of the Lagos State University (LASU) has withdrawn the PhD certificates of some of its members which include the branch ASUU LASU chairman, Dr. Adekunle Idris.

ASUU Lagos zonal Coordinator, Dr. Sola Nasir, dropped the bombshell at a press briefing held at the old LASU Sociology Department lecture hall of LASU and flanked by ASUU chairmen from University of Lagos, Olabisi Onabanjo University, University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Tai Solarin University of Education and the host ASUU-LASU.
The ASUU-LASU, Dr. Adekunle Idris confirmed that the management withdrew his PhD and that of 13 others from different departments claiming errors were made in the wordings.
According to Dr. Nasir, the LASU management in their letters to the affected lecturers said it discovered
some errors in their PhD and asked the holders to return them. He said the union expect them to correct it and produce new ones for Dr. Idris and others.

I don’t care about most people. I don’t care about how ridiculous some of their beliefs or views of the world are.

I don’t care about how dumb most people’s actions are, or why most people never bother to give much logical thought to anything at all.


It used to bother me — a lot. But I got over it as soon as I accepted that changing all these people isn’t in my power.

Instead, I just let things slide in order to avoid conversations that I don’t wish to have.

Yet, there are some people — those closest to me — who I almost feel a need to change. We all have at least one or two individuals in our lives we wish we could “fix”; they are individuals we wish we could improve and help. The problem is that you’ll never be able to change them.

You’ll never be able to change anybody. Anybody other than yourself, that is.

1. ALTHOUGH MANY WILL ARGUE OTHERWISE, PEOPLE CAN CHANGE.

In fact, we all change all the time. The stagnancy we think we experience is only an illusion. However, guiding that change in the desired direction is another story entirely. As living things, we change regardless of whether or not we wish to.

With every experience, every thought, every emotion, we become — if only slightly — different people. The change in our lives is an unstoppable force. It is, however, redirectable.

With enough focus, courage and strength, we can guide the changes in our lives anyway we wish. Creating such desired change in your life isn’t easy. Guiding someone else’s changes in a way that you see fit is basically impossible.

2. THE WAY PEOPLE SEE THEMSELVES IS DIFFERENT FROM THE WAY YOU SEE THEM.
No matter how good you are at reading people, no matter how well you know someone, or how long you’ve known them, you can never know exactly what it means to be them. You just can’t. You can guess.
You maybe can even somewhat imagine. But you will never know someone completely.

Now, the problem is that you are trying to change a person who doesn’t even exist. Changing a person on a deep level requires finesse — you need to understand all the details, all the bits and pieces that make a person the person he or she is.

Boko Haram gunmen killed 48 fish vendors in Nigeria's restive Borno State, near the border with Chad, the head of the fish traders association told AFP on Sunday.
"Scores of Boko Haram fighters blocked a route linking Nigeria with Chad near the fishing village of Doron Baga on the shores of Lake Chad on Thursday and killed a group of 48 fish traders‎ on their way to Chad to buy fish," Abubakar Gamandi said.
He said the insurgents set up a barricade at Dogon Fili, 15 kilometres (nine miles) from Doron Baga, and stopped a convoy of fish vendors around midday, slaughtering some of them and drowning others in the lake.

The Adamawa state government has decided to train and enlist the services of 10,000 local hunters, vigilantes and civilian JTF in freeing towns captured by the Boko Haram insurgents in the state.

Daily Times reports that the state governor, Mr Bala James Ngilari , on Monday made the statement through his spokesman, Mr PP Elisha, shortly after an emergency meeting with security chiefs in the state.
He said the hunters were going to be trained so they can carry out their duties according to the rules of engagement.
