PhonesSimple Trick: How To Read Whatsapp Messages WITHOUT Your Friends Knowing by musicnobs(op): 3:38pm On Jan 24, 2016

Whether you’re trying to play it cool with a date, or putting off responding to a friend’s latest crisis, WhatApp’s blue ticks can be unhelpful.

The popular messaging app shows a double blue tick once a recipient has read a message, which can make for some awkward scenarios.

But there is a simple process to avoid any possible humiliation and drama by using a trick that stops the blue ticks appearing.

When users receive a notification of a WhatsApp message, perhaps from someone they are trying to avoid, they should not open the app to read it.

Instead, they should turn on ‘Airplane Mode,’ which disables access to Wi-Fi and mobile signals, Shortlist reported.

Also known as Flight Mode, this option is accessible in the Settings menu, by swiping up from the bottom of the screen on iOS or from the top of the screen on Android.

Once this mode has been enabled, the user can then open the app and read the message without alerting the sender’s attention to their action by triggering the blue ticks.

To keep it a secret, users then need to close the app while still in Airplane Mode.

This can be done by double tapping the iPhone’s home button and swiping upwards on the WhatsApp app, or by tapping the multitask button and closing the app on Android handsets.

The sender of the message will remain unaware it has been read so long as the sneaky reader doesn’t open the chain of messages while online.

Earlier this week, WhatsApp announced it had abandoned its 99 cent subscription fee and will allow millions of users to chat for free.

The annual fee is set to disappear over the next few weeks and the company plans to experiment with ‘other commercial services’ for future revenue streams.

Christianity Etc5 Things I Wish Christians Would Admit About The Bible by musicnobs(op): 11:03am On Oct 19, 2015
Christians talk about it all the time, though what they mean by “The Bible” isn’t always clear. That is to say, other than the catch phrase “God’s Word” I’m not sure what the Bible is to many who claim it as the sacred text that guides their life. I’m positive we’re not all on the same page, so to speak.

Some Christians want to make the Bible something it isn’t, and it makes for some disastrous conversations and dangerous assumptions, especially in interactions with other Christians.
Here are 5 things about the Bible I wish more believers would consider:

1. The Bible Isn’t a Magic Book.

The Bible isn’t The Good Book. It isn’t really a book at all. It’s a lot of books. It’s a library.

Its 66 individual books run the diverse gamut of writing styles, (poetry, history, biography, church teachings, letters), and those books have dozens of authors; from shepherds, to prophets, to doctors, to fishermen, to kings. These diverse writers each had very different target audiences, disparate life circumstances and specific agendas for their work; so we don’t approach each book the same way—for the same reason you wouldn’t read a poem about leaves the same way you read a botany textbook. Some are for inspiration and some for information; we receive and see them differently.

If we can see the Scriptures this way; as many diverse works telling one story in one collection, Christians can free themselves from the confusion about what they mean when they say “literal.” We don’t have to equate history with allegory with poetry, or read them in the same way. We can also see the Bible as a record not just of God, but of God’s people, and we can find ourselves within it.

2. The Bible Isn’t as Clear as We’d Like It To Be.

Often, (especially when arguing), Christians like to begin with the phrase, “The Bible clearly says…” followed by their Scripture soundbite of choice.
Those people aren’t always taking the entire Bible into account.

If we’re honest, the Bible contains a great deal of tension and a whole lot of gray on all types of subjects. For example, we can read the clear Old Testament commandment from God not to murder, and later see Jesus telling His disciples that violence isn’t the path His people are to take.

But we also see God telling the Israelites to destroy every living thing in enemy villages, (women and children included), and we read of Moses murdering an Egyptian soldier without recourse from God.

That’s why some Christians believe all violence is sinful, while others think shooting someone in self-defense is OK. Some find war justifiable in some cases, while some believe all war is inherently immoral.

Same Bible. One subject. Several perspectives.

That’s not to say that truth is relative, that God doesn’t have an opinion on violence or that He hasn’t given us His opinion in the Bible. It’s just that the answer may not be as clear and straightforward as we like to pretend it is.

Many times, when Christians say the phrase “The Bible clearly says…”, what they really mean is, “The way I interpret this one verse allows me to feel justified in having this perspective.”

When you read and study this library in its totality, there are certainly themes and continuities and things that connect exquisitely, but if we’re honest we can also admit there are ambiguities. It doesn’t diminish the Scriptures to admit that they are complex. On the contrary, most great works throughout history are.

3. The Bible Was Inspired by God, Not Dictated by God.

Christians will often rightly say that the Bible was “inspired by God,” and I completely agree. However, that idea often gets twisted in translation.

The Bible is “God’s Word,” but we need to be careful about what we mean when we say it was “written” by God. These are the words of men who were compelled by God to tell, not only what they claim to have heard God say, but things happening in and around them—their struggles, personal reasons for writing and specific experience of God. Of course they were inspired by God, but they remained inspired human beings, not God-manipulated puppets who checked their free will at the door and transcribed God’s monologues like zombies.

The book of Timothy says the Scriptures are “God-breathed,” that they originate from God, but it doesn’t claim they are God-dictated.

4. We All Pick and Choose the Bible We Believe, Preach and Defend.

Christians often accuse believers with differing opinions of “cherry picking” from the Bible; holding tightly to verses they agree with, while conveniently jettisoning ones they are uncomfortable with.

The only problem is, each time this assertion is made, the one making the accusation conveniently claims objectivity; as if they somehow have a firm, dispassionate understanding of the entirety of Scripture, without bias or prejudice, and that the other is violating that.

As we mature in our faith, some of us may be able to shake off some of our personal biases and get closer to the true meaning of Scripture. But until then, most of us have our own Bible, made somewhat in our image. There are as many specific individual interpretations of Scripture in history as there have been readers of it. Our understanding and belief about the Bible is a product of our upbringing, the amount of study we’ve had, the friends we’ve lived alongside, the area of the world we live in, the experiences we have and much more.

Is it really fair to accuse someone else of selectively using Scripture, unless we’re prepared to admit to the same crime in the process?

5. God Is Bigger Than The Bible.

This past week, I took a walk along the beach, taking in the ocean. For those who’ve ever done so, you understand the vastness; the staggering beauty and power; the relentless force of the tides. You know the smallness you feel; the overwhelming scale of creation you find yourself face-to-face with.

Billions of words have been written about the ocean. I could gather up every single one of them; the most beautiful, vivid, accurate descriptions from fisherman, marine biologists and poets. I could read every last word about the ocean to someone who has never been there—and it would never do it justice.

There’s simply no way to adequately describe the ocean in words. You have to experience it.

PhonesIphone 7 Render Includes New Ios 10 (see Photos) by musicnobs(op): 10:51am On Oct 19, 2015
We don’t expect to see the iPhone 7 release until fall next year but we’re already seeing numerous design visions for the smartphone. This latest iPhone 7 render includes a new iOS 10 vision and the idea of a never-ending screen. Read on for more details and tell us what you think.

This new iPhone 7 concept comes from design student Marek Weidlich, and it appears to take its inspiration from the Apple Watch. He imagines iOS 10 as a floating cloud of apps in the style of Apple’s WatchOS and describes the appearance as a “new never ending screen.” This entails a software Home button rather than a physical one.

As you can see from the images, his iPhone 7 design has an edge-to-edge display. This extends just beyond the curved edges and still leaves room for physical control buttons on the sides. This new iPhone idea also steps up on the camera front to a 15-megapixel rear camera with true tone ring flash and 8K video recording capability.

The rear of the phone is ergonomically designed for a better grip in the hand. While many of the concept designs we see are on the fanciful side, this one doesn’t look too unlike something that Apple might come up with. However, we’re not too sure about the rather odd design touch on the back. If you enjoyed looking at this concept you might like to check out some other recent iPhone 7 concepts here and here.

RomanceFive Phrases You Must Not Mention During A Fight With Your Partner by musicnobs(op): 4:51pm On Sep 30, 2015
Every couple have arguments and misunderstandings. However, this is one thing that brings them closer; but if handled wrongly, it could put an end to a relationship. It is important to fight fair and communicate your feelings effectively instead of just lashing out.
Below are five statements that are more likely to cause more harm to your relationship; 1. “You Always” or “You Never”: You might feel the urge to say something like,“you never respect me”or“You always choose your friends over me,” during a fight when trying to make your point. But this will only end up making your partner aggressive and you will be unable to get the reaction you were hoping for.

Instead of words like these, how about saying“I know you are trying your best but I wish you would show me more respect.

”This way, you are acknowledging their effort while telling them what you need. This is more likely to get a positive response.

2. “I do not want to talk about this anymore”: Walking out on a fight or just abruptly shutting your partner down while in the middle of an argument or discussion will only serve to hurt them more. If you must postpone the conversation, do it in such a way that you both come to the agreement to discuss some other time.

3. “Can’t you be more like..”: No one likes to be compared to other people. It does not matter if you are trying to make a point. Saying things like“Why can’t you be more like my friend’s wife/husband..”will not go down well with your partner. If there is a character trait you need him/her to work on, just express that to them instead of using someone else as an example. Nobody is perfect. You chose your partner for who they are so it is hurtful when it sounds like you are wishing they were someone else.

3. “It’s over”: No matter how hurt or angry you are, you never end a relationship in the middle of an argument because chances are, you do not really mean this.
Throwing words like “divorce” or “break up” like it is nothing is certainly not the way to go. Ending a relationship takes careful consideration and discussion. And if you are used to throwing those words around when you do not mean them, you will be left shell-shocked if, one day, you partner takes you at your words and walks out.

4. “Whatever…”: Saying this when someone is trying to communicate with you is not only rude, but hurtful. Disregarding their feelings and opinion because you do not feel like having this discussion will only cause your partner to get closed off.

You need to always keep the lines of communication open, even when you do not really feel like it because your relationship is unlikely to last long if you both do not express your feelings.

5. “I’m sorry, but…”: If you are going to apologize about something, do it wholeheartedly and completely. Do not do cancel it out by attaching condition to it, like saying“I apologize but you really should not speak to me that way”.

This will only extend the argument. After apologizing, gently let your partner know if they have done something to make you feel bad. This way, they also get the chance to completely apologize and everything is right with your relationship again.

CelebritiesTeentech Kids Discovers Condom That Changes Colour When Exposed To STD by musicnobs(op): 11:13pm On Jun 25, 2015
A condom that changes colour when it comes into contact with sexually transmitted infections has been invented by a group of school children.

The ‘S.T.EYE’ has a built-in indicator to detect infections such as Chlamydia, herpes and syphilis, turning a different colour depending on the strain of bacteria present.

The discovery is the brainchild Daanyaal Ali, 14, Muaz Nawaz, 13 and Chirag Shah, 14, who are pupils at Isaac Newton Academy in Ilford, Essex. The kids wanted to “make detecting harmful STIs safer than ever before” without the need for invasive tests.

The condom would glow green for chlamydia, yellow for herpes, purple in the presence of the human papillomavirus which causes genital warts, and blue for syphilis.

For their ingenuity, the kids have been recognized with the TeenTech award for the best health innovation. They would get £1,000 and a trip to Buckingham Palace from the TeenTech awards, aimed at up-and-coming inventors.

RomanceStop It Guys! Here Are 10 Ways You Drive Women Away Without Knowing by musicnobs(op): 1:26pm On Jun 25, 2015
These men may have made similar mistakes in their failed relationships and are totally clueless about them

Sometimes single men looking to be in serious relationships complain of good women they meet packing up and leaving after months or weeks of being together without a valid explanation.

These men may have made similar mistakes in their failed relationships and are totally clueless about them. Relationship speaker James Michael Sama writing for YourTango explains those recurring mistakes and how to learn from them and become a better man.

He never really learned about relationships:
This has always surprised me. People (men and women) spend years of their life learning about business, history, science, and whatever subject comes our way. But when it comes to the one thing every single one of us shares — relationships — many are generally clueless. Time is not taken to observe, talk to, or learn about the opposite sex. The more effort you put into learning about women, particularly the one in your life, the more likely you are to be in tune with her feelings, emotions, likes and dislikes. This will, of course, lead to a smoother, happier relationship because you can anticipate her wants and needs in order to act on them. You don’t need to be a mind reader; you just need to put in a little effort.

He spends too much time trying to sell himself: You spend far too much time talking about yourself and not enough time learning about her. Dating is not supposed to be a sales pitch where you try to convince the person on the other end of the table that you’re their best option. It’s about mutual learning and figuring out whether or not you are both a match for each other. You have two ears and one mouth for a reason, so listen twice as much as you speak.

He doesn’t make her a priority:
I’ve had more than one conversation recently that focused on men who were either so submerged in their career, business, friends, or other interests that they barely made time to spend with their own girlfriend. As an entrepreneur, I understand the importance of focusing on business and progress, but I also understand the beauty and depth a relationship can bring to your life, and the importance of playing your equal role in it. The woman in your life wants to feel valued. She wants to feel adored. She wants you to be emotionally present when you are with her. She doesn’t need to have you around constantly, but she wants to feel loved, just like you do. If you stop putting in effort to make the woman in your life feel special every day, you lose your right to complain when someone else does.

He didn’t work to build a foundation:
A foundation of friendship and trust is essential to every relationship, much like building a foundation is essential to building a house. Without it, things may look solid from the outside, but will be crumbling from the inside. Many men shy away from friendship with women because they’re scared of being in the “friend zone” and never having more than that with a woman they have feelings for. But it’s important to realize that many relationships are built off of friendships. That is what keeps two people together long-term. She needs to know she can count on you, that you will be there, and that you are the real deal. You can have a friendship without a relationship, but you can’t have a relationship without a friendship.

He is inconsistent:
Another common question I get from women about men is: Why are men so hot and cold? Men can be talking about commitment and a relationship one day, and then completely disappear the next. What gives? I understand that, as men in the social media era, we have options. We can easily X out a conversation and start a new one while easily forgetting about the last one. It’s an unfortunate side effect of the “out of sight, out of mind” mentality that comes along with constant information overload. But one thing hasn’t changed: The fact that you are talking to real human beings with real feelings and emotions. If you are interested in her, tell her. If you are not interested in her, tell her. A gentleman will never allow a woman to fall if he does not intend on catching her.

He focuses too much on her looks:
This one is pretty interesting because it may be counter-intuitive to a lot of men reading this. But that is only because most guys try to get a woman’s attention by complimenting her beauty, and put no effort into learning about her character. Early on in my relationship I found myself not complimenting my girlfriend on her looks very often. I wanted to tell her that she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen; I wanted to tell her that she looks just as beautiful in sweatpants as she does in a dress. I wanted to dig up every adjective I could think of that could be used to describe someone’s appearance — but, I didn’t. Why? Because I didn’t want her to think that’s why I wanted to be with her. Yes, she is beautiful and sexy, but she is so much more than that. I actually told her once that I didn’t want her to think I only wanted her for her looks. She told me that if I’d spent too much time complimenting her beauty, that’s exactly what she would’ve thought. The woman in your life will have much more appreciation for you taking the time to notice her character, compassion, thoughtfulness, and kindheartedness — far more than you telling her how great her butt looks in those jeans. Even if it does.

He gives too much, too soon:
Yes, men can be clingy, too. When we find a woman who really catches our attention, sometimes the excitement can be a little overwhelming and we may come on stronger than we intend to. This, particularly for a more independent type of woman, is kryptonite and pushes her away immediately. Take a step back, take a deep breath, tell her what a great time you had on your date, and do your best to fight the urge to text her every 5 minutes. Don’t be worried about coming across as uninterested; you will actually likely be helping yourself rather than hurting yourself.

He hasn’t yet defined himself or his own path:
I know that this was a big hang-up for me for a long time. I wasn’t really sure who I was as a person, who I wanted to be, or who I wanted to become. For that reason (and others) I knew I wasn’t going to be ready for a relationship until I had at least a better grip on those questions. In order to be happy with someone else, you first need to be happy with yourself. That is the most important relationship you’ll ever have. If that one isn’t healthy, none of your others will be either. The idea of “you complete me” is romantic, but it’s not realistic. A relationship is not about two people who complete each other; it’s about two people who are already whole and accept each other completely.

He puts in part-time effort:
Healthy relationships aren’t a part-time commitment. The woman you are with is not just another option or a way to pass your time, and she shouldn’t be made to feel like she is. When you are with her, be with her. When you are not with her, let her know you’re thinking about her. A relationship is a team, and teams fall apart when one of the members doesn’t pull their own weight. She needs to know that you will be there for her during good times and during bad times. If you always seem to be just sort-of-kind-of committed, she will eventually realize she’s better off being single, or will find someone who gives her what she needs.

He’s clueless about how she’s feeling:
You also need to make sure you learn about her on a deeper level, especially about the one woman you’ve committed your time and effort to. If you don’t put in the effort to become in-tune with how she’s feeling or what she’s communicating to you non-verbally, you will never be able to form the type of deep, emotional connection that a healthy relationship should possess. She doesn’t want or need you to be a psychic. But if you truly put in the time and effort to communicate with her, listen to her, and pay attention to the things she’s saying to you when she’s not actually speaking, you will gain a greater understanding of the woman you love and ultimately be able to bring more happiness to you as individuals, and to your relationship.

CelebritiesSee Uganda’s ‘UGLIEST’ Man Becomes A Dad For The 8th Time (photos) by musicnobs(op): 8:53pm On Jun 23, 2015
A man who was officially named ‘Uganda’s Ugliest Man’ Godfrey Baguma, 47, has welcomed his 8th child with his second wife, Kate Namanda,, who he married in 2013. This will be Godfrey and Kate’s 6th child together, he has two children with his ex-wife who he divorced after he caught her cheating.

Kate,30, gave birth to a baby girl earlier this week for Godfrey, who has a rare, unknown medical condition. Her first child for him was in 2008. Speaking on how they met, began dating and had children, Godfrey told Uganda’s KFM:

‘I stayed with her four years before her people knew where she was. I didn’t want them to see me until we had a child because they’d definitely advise her to leave me. She left me when she was six months pregnant but I think she later accepted her fate because she came back two months later. I told her that I didn’t choose to look the way I do and that if she feels I am a burden, she is free to leave me’.

Later when Nicki got SUPER FAMOUS – she bought back the pics and had them removed from all DOCTOR MATERIALS. Well our snitch HELD onto one of the pieces . . .

CelebritiesDenrele Edun Celebrates 50th Birthday Rocking Agbada With Stiletto Heels (photos by musicnobs(op): 4:02pm On Jun 14, 2015
lmao at the photo. See more after the cut. Hate him or love him, let’s wish a happy birthday to the one & only eccentric captivator Denrele Edun. D turned 32 today but in his birthday message says he turned 50. lol.
Today I turned fifty.
I feel really good.
My body’s still working quite well, thanks. (Touches wood). My hair’s not too grey, my wrinkles are few, I can still touch my toes with my knuckles. (Can you?) I’m quite full of vigour, just getting ripe.
My hearing’s still good.
What’s that you say?
Speak clearly, don’t mumble, your voice wafts away.
Inside this old body I’m still young, but then if life starts at thirty-two, I’m really just ten.
HBD to me!!!!!!

Burna felt very sad about him not been nominated on the MTVMAMA Awards, and expressed it on twitter …

MTV Base has now replied Burna Boy after he expressed his displeasure at being snubbed for nominations at the MAMAs announcement.
The media giant had last night, unveiled nominees for their awards which will hold July 8 2013. Burna Boy missed out on an individual nomination, although his name popped up in the ‘Best collaboration’ category for his work in AKA’s ‘All eyes on me’.
Burna boy had earlier tweeted: “Really bummed @MTVbaseAfrica didn’t nominate me. I knew I wasn’t gunna win SHXT cuz I never get wat I deserve but damn this is quite deep.
MTV has replied the singer, albeit with a huge amount of sarcasm. “Let’s try again next year. Truce?,” a tweet read, with the photo of a forlorn cub thrown in for good measure.
Another simply expressed a sigh, literally, and an accompanying photo of a submerged boy making the peace sign.
