He joined the company in 2011, worked dedicatedly and was committed, in July 2012, at the chairman of the company's birthday, he decided to reward people for hardwork. First, he promised a Gardner who has worked with him for 26 years a house, secondly, the manager of his company, a house and a brand new car, and thirdly, the personal assistant a car. Everyone present at the occasion were happy and thanked the chairman and also congratulated the recipients. The event has about 20 people in attendance.

THE ISSUE

The manager of the company who was supposed to be a beneficiary of a house and also a brand new car was already in possession of a car which was initially either given to her as a gift or official car by the chairman two years before the event. This was the car she was supposed to transfer to the third beneficiary of reward from the chairman(the personal assistant). The car was in her name, she did the transfer to the Personal assistant as directed by the chairman.

The manager also got her own new car which also registered in her name acoording to the gift promised her. Neither the Gardner nor the manager got the houses that was promised to them.

After that event, the chairman has not been responsible for fueling, service and repairs of any of this cars.
4 years after, the personal assistant had to resign from the job because of consistent work related issues with the chairman, the manager too said she was resigning as she was going to get married and would be relocating.

The chairman furiously, started asking for the car he gave to the Personal assistant four years ago, which he has not been responsible for, the car was also registered in the Personal assistant name since the transfer from the manager.

THE QUESTION

Should the personal assistant give up the car? and why?

What justification does the chairman have to recall the gifts.
