Basel have six points in their group and they need to win this as CSKA Moscow is likely to beat Benfica. So if they do not get any points here, then they are unlikely to make it to the next stage of the Champions League.

They are likely to keep it tight early on to ensure they stay in the game as long as possible, and especially without their suspended midfielder Taulant Xhaka, it will be difficult to stop United’s midfield now that Pogba has returned there as well.

At home, they have lost 2-1 to CSKA Moscow and thumped Benfica 5-0 but hard to see them being too much problems for the visitors who beat them 3-0 at Old Trafford, who had 8 shots on target and 6 shots off target while they had 59% of possession. From this game, Basel are also without their main striker van Wolfswinkel which means they are down two key players for this game



Manchester United just need a point to progress as winners of this group and should get at least this here. They have been dominant in this group phase, as they have scored at least two goals in three of their four games, while allowing just the one goal.

Mourinho will expect his players to put in a professional job and finish Basel off, and with a game against Brighton at home, who played on Monday night, they do not have an overly difficult game to worry about on the weekend, so they can concentrate on winning here.
