Once the issue of Banditry can be tackled and farmers return to farms without any fear, Nigeria will be great like never before

The issue is inflation. the purchasing power of naira is very low. they should use a stable currency to measure it and tell us the real value.

'The arrest was never borne out of the use of the title Engr. It was because of the Title, Obi of Lagos and to them, the Title commands some form of followership and that the political/tribal gangster are not comfortable with.

To me this man has not committed any offence, if arrogating a title is a crime, why are they not arresting all the self acclaimed president of this and that?
Ever Tinubu lost election in Lagos, there have been some form of uneasiness and persecutions going on in Lagos state.
This type of action can only bring retrogression. Free the people and stop setting up a precedent that may come to hunt you in future as what comes around , goes around.

That's thinking like a child , the CCTV was played back to know what transpired. Those that put CCTV do not sit all day to monitor it else, there will not be any need for it, just sit and monitor your surrounding yourself. CCTV is only there to record things that happen in your absence

The Federal Government has made Tax Identification, (Tax ID) compulsory for people getting involved in banking and allied services in the country.

Consequently, all taxable Nigerians are to obtain a Taxpayer Identification when the new tax Acts come into force in January 2026.

The Tax ID is contained in the provisions of the Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025, Part II Section 4 of the legislation which was recently signed by President Bola Tinubu.

It says, “Every Taxable person shall register with the relevant Tax Authority and obtain a Taxpayer Identification Card (Tax ID) for the purpose of compliance with tax obligations.”

“Every ministry, department or agency of the federal, State or Local government shall register and obtain a Tax ID.”

Section 6 (1) of the Act also requires Non-resident persons who supply taxable goods and services to any person in Nigeria to obtain Tax ID, as they shall be obligated to pay tax in Nigeria.

Section 7 (3) empowers the relevant tax authority to issue Tax ID to a person who should have applied for an ID but failed to do so. The relevant tax authority is also empowered to refuse to issue a Tax ID to an applicant based on information available to it. In such a case, the authority shall inform the applicant of its decision within five working days.

Section 8 (1) (c) makes Tax ID a condition for entering into any contract with the Federal and State governments.

Section 8 (2) makes Tax ID mandatory for any person to operate a bank account or get involved in insurance, stocks or allied services in the country, once the Act comes into force from January 1, 2026.

The Act, however, provides an allowance to suspend or deregister the Tax ID, if the holder ceases to undertake trade or business, either temporarily or permanently.

(2) “The Tax authority shall classify the Tax ID as ‘dormant’ and place it on suspension.

(3) “Where a taxable person permanently ceases to carry on trade or business in Nigeria, the taxable person shall notify the relevant tax authority of its intention to deregister for tax purposes within 30 days of such cessation of trade or business.”

Revenue Service Chairman’s enormous powers.

The Act for the Establishment of the Nigeria Revenue Service, 2025, makes the Executive Chairman its Governing Board Chairman, leaving the occupant with enormous powers.

The Board shall consist of Ex-Officio members, including a representative of the Minister of finance, not lower than the rank of a Director, a representative of the Minister of National Planning; Attorney-General of the Federation; Minister of Petroleum.

Dollar was never scarce, it has always been the cost. Yeah, the stability, I agree and good too but it was also stable during the time of Goodluck and some times in Buhari administration too.
The government is only good for the politicians and not the populace.

Defending of a country currency is normal, even this current government does that, it is all about maintaining a healthy trade balance. Payment made in foreign currency is handled by the central bank of the country and this is control by what is available in the bank reserve and trade balancing. what comes in and what goes out.
The question you will ask yourself is; who is spending more now?
All that the government is doing now is to shift all the hard work to the citizens, while all the credits/ benefits come to them.

To them, what they cannot does not exist forgetting that where your knowledge ends is where another starts and for those that are crying for ndigbo, How many terms did Nelson Mandela rule South Africa? He has to start with one and if he performs well, then it will open up another opportunity for another Igbo person, if the issue is that four years is too short, why not clamor for an 8 years single term for the president.
