Had same issue with my Dog though, it was barking nor showing any sign of protective instinct up until 2yrs of age, then one faithful night around 11pm or, my dog who doesn't bark was barking dog ferociously and was heading towards the gate to and fro, we came out of the house wondering wat was wrong but couldn't find anything suspicious at all, after a long while it stopped... When it was morning we found out that there was a shoot out which took place within our vicinity,but we couldn't hear anything like that at night though, ever since then the dog became territorial but doesn't bark unnecessary like most dog do.. for instance I can count the number of times the dog barks in a week.... What am saying is that some dog are different from others even though they might be the of same breed... While some need a trigger to activate that protective instinct ( maybe a change of environment or a cause for panic, just saying )

you don't have to be worried, territorial instincts kick in at different ages. But if you already are, I can help you bring it out from you dog.

Do you believe on theory of starvation? Have you tried it before??

Mayb the dog is probably a product of different cross breed with dogs that are not CS .......so the natural sherperd/protective nature present in caucasian sheperd bloodline is not just there.. ..or just give it time....or

E go need training....

But I verified all his features (based on online criteria) before buying the dog and all match with Caucasian Shepherd. I am also aware that some Caucasian Shepherd takes at least 1.5 to 2.5 year to manifest its true behaviors but my major concern is his inability to bark because even puppy Caucasian barks

Hello guys!

I am seeking for an advice. I bought Caucasian Shepherd at the age of 6 months and now he is 1 year but he neither bark nor intimidate strangers, only play with anyone that he come across. He plays all the time without getting tired

I raised concern when I observed he was not barking and he is not deaf because he is growling when playing with plastic bucket in his cage, so I was advised to let him reach 1 year as he was a puppy then.

His cage is at the backyard of my house and I only unleash him in the nighttime around 8pm and cage him in the morning around 8am and he don’t see or interact with anybody except myself and my wife during the day ( when he is caged) but occasionally visitors come in the night which makes him happy, jumping and inviting them to play.

I learned some training skills online which I wish to teach him but he don’t give attention as he is busy playing. One of my friend jokingly told me my dog is circus type which I begin to believe so.

The first pictures is him when I bought him at 5 months while the rest is his recent picture when he turned 1 year.

Please advice me accordingly.

Hi! What is the condition of your dog now? Mine is 1 year old but he not barking nor aggressive to anyone.
