Politics / Buhari, APC Commissioned Gbajabiamila, Elumelu To Set Crisis In PDP – Ukandu by Myhoneypie(f): 2:48pm On Jul 09, 2019
A Muslim community leader in Abia state and legal expert, Alhaji Suleiman Ukandu, has faulted the action of the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, over his declaration of Hon. Tony Elumelu, as the Minority leader of the present 9th Assembly.

Elumelu, represents Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency of Delta State and also, doubled as a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP).

DAILY POST had reported that the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, had, at last Wednesday’s plenary, announced names of minority leadership chosen by members, while disregarding the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s letter endorsing some members for the positions.

The PDP had chosen Reps Kingsley Chinda as Minority Leader, Chukwuka Onyema (PDP-Anambra), Deputy Minority Leader; Yakubu Bade (PDP-Kaduna), Minority Whip and Muraina Ajibola (PDP-Oyo); Deputy Minority Whip.

However, Gbajabiamila announced Elumelu as Minority Leader; Reps Toby Okechukwu (PDP-Enugu), Deputy Minority Leader; Gideon Gwami, Minority Whip and Adesegun Adekoya as Deputy Minority Whip.

Speaking, Rep Leke Abejide (ADC-Kogi) said he personally signed in support of Elumelu and others as his leaders.

He stressed that the PDP cannot impose candidates on them.

Speaking in an interview with journalists in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, Ukandu, claimed that Gbajabiamila and Elumelu, were contracted by the All Progressives Congress-led federal government to set crisis in the opposition party (PDP).

According to the PDP stalwart, “That is pure hypocrisy on the side of the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila. The speaker himself inherited that particular aspect of party supremacy. His party, the APC, said Gbajabiamila should be their candidate for the speakership of the ninth Federal House of Representatives. And all his party members adhered to that. Why should the speaker again, try to truncate the supremacy of another party?

“I think Gbajabiamila is trying to set crisis in the PDP. He want to disorganize members of the PDP, who are in the federal House of Representatives in order to deny them a voice, in order to make sure that it did not in anyway witness resistance from the already-planned policies, which he(speaker) and his draconian APC, have on desk. I think he supposedly did that.

” And i believe that if Honorable Ndudi Elumelu, is a true party man, he wouldn’t have accepted such unnecessary carrots that dangled to him. He should understand, there is already a preplanned agenda by the APC, as regards the Federal House of Representatives. They had a plan to destabilize the PDP. They have a plan to control the house to their whims and caprices”.

Politics / Arewa Group Defends Ruga Settlement, Blasts Ohanaeze’s Nwodo, Fani-kayode by Myhoneypie(f): 4:38am On Jul 08, 2019
A group, the Arewa Defenders Forum, ADF, has thrown its support to the Coalition of Northern Youths’ stand on the need to have the Ruga settlements in the country.

The forum said the need for the Ruga settlement was to reduce the mobility of cattle breeders, so that the terrorists sponsored to destabilize the North would finally be exposed.

Nuruddeen Alkasim, National President of Arewa Defenders Forum, in a statement issued after an emergency meeting in Kaduna, said, “We support the Coalition of Northern Youth Groups’ stand on the need to have the Ruga settlements in order to reduce the mobility of cattle breeders, so that the terrorists sponsored to destabilize the North would finally be exposed for who they really are.”

The forum cautioned Chief John Nnia Nwodo, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide to be mindful of his religious propaganda against the Buhari presidency and Northern youths.

The group declared that Nwodo is a forgotten, frustratred politician desperate for recognition in the media by hiding behind his hatred against the North through open, vicious attack on the Ruga policy and insulting the North as a people.

ADF expressed disappointment over the Ohanaeze leader’s claims of alleged Islamization and Fulanization of the country, stressing that the Ruga proposal was designed to bring an end to suspicious killings using the name of Fulanis and their Northern identity for political convenience.

“Let someone tell Nwodo that it was the same Fulani he so hated that once picked him up as a nonentity, full of envy for the region and made him Minister. This is a clear indication that Nwodo is an ingrate and a willing tool in a calculated agenda of destroying the North, riding on religious and ethnic sentiments,” the forum noted.

The group said Nwodo has only succeeded in exposing himself as one of those Southeast elites who have lost touch with reality; who do not want an end to the massive killing of Northerners by people masquerading as herdsmen, in an ochestrated agenda to kill agriculture, threaten Food Security of the region, its safety and generally run down the Northern economy.

The group also took exception to the call by the Ohanaeze leader that all Igbo should be ready to defend themselves, adding that by this, the Ohanaeze leader has made a call for resort to arms.

It urged the Federal Government to keep an eye on all Southern elites opposed to ending the killings in the North and investigate if they have no links to the circulation of arms used in killings and razing of villages.

Turning to another former minister and virulent critic of the Ruga policy, the ADF said, “We were not surprised by Fani Kayode’s unguarded utterances because it has always been his stand on issues to do with Northern interest.

“Virtually every Federal Government policy capable of stabilizing the North or promoting justice, fairness and national unity becomes the butt of Fani Kayode’s
vitriolic media attacks.

“It was therefore not surprising to us that the coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has become his new target of media bashing.”

The group also argued thus, “Coming from the only part of Nigeria that has so far enjoyed more than enough economic and political patronage, with our son, President Buhari in charge of the reigns of power, it is in fact shameful, and
veiled hypocrisy that Fani Kayode would openly insult the North, which gave them unlimited access to opportunities as a strategy for promoting national
unity and stability.”

The forum warned the Ohanaeze leader and what it called his collaborators, notably Fani Kayode, to end their politically-motivated, senseless campaigns and allow the Federal Government proceed with its agenda for
peace through the proposed Ruga policy.

“We dare say that this is one beautiful policy that has thus far got the total support of prominent Nigerians, including groups of elder statesmen like the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) and Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and scores of civil society groups from the South,” the ADF explained.

Religion / Go And Seek For Psycho-therapy Healing, Sex Scandal Pastor Chris To Fatoyinbo by Myhoneypie(f): 8:56am On Jul 06, 2019
Lagos-based cleric and Pastor of Zionwealth Church, Lekki, Lagos, Cris Omatsola who was in the news last year over a sex tape which involved him and his lover, Princess Tamaratokoni Okpewho has advised the founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo to seek pscho-therapy healing over the rape scandal he is presently enmeshed in.

He said he believed the allegations made by singer, Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola, against Fatoyinbo were true, urging the cleric to seek God’s face for mercy and return to ministry.

Omatsola, who is the head of Zionwealth Church, Lekki, Lagos, was in the news last year over a viral sex tape involving him and his lover, Princess Tamaratokoni Okpewho.

He said prior to Fufeyin’s intervention, he had consulted Fatoyinbo at his Abuja church during the crisis, adding that the latter counselled him for over two hours.

He said, “I went to see him (Fatoyinbo) and we discussed for over two hours. What he suggested to me then is what he is doing right now. Stepping down is the right thing to do.

“Honestly, I believe Busola’s story. She cannot come out to lie against him. What for? Is it for money or fame?

“Busola and her husband, Timi Dakolo, are already famous and have money. I believe she did it for conscience sake and to help other people.

“I advise that he (Fatoyinbo) should get himself together and push up again; it is not the end of life and (his) ministry. He should not sink into depression. He should get things right with God.

“He has taken the right step by stepping down so that it does not appear like he took the allegation lightly or that he mocks Christianity.

“He should go through a psycho-therapy process and heal up and he should give all the necessary legal attention to the case.”

He said Busola should realise that the world had heard her story, adding that her objective had been achieved.

He added, “I do not support rape or violence in any form and I believe her story. I pray that God will heal her heart and wound.”

Omatsola said although Fatoyinbo was his senior in ministry, he (Omatsola) had called to reciprocate what he did for him at his own trying time.

He said, “Prophet Fufeyin has already come to my church to re-establish me after I went to the mountain to seek God’s face for mercy.

“I have also settled with the girl. He even gave her N1m. So, I have settled with God, settled with the girl and settled legal action.

“I was on the mountain for over two months. That is the same message I am giving to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.”

Crime / Court Orders Forfeiture Of Diezani’s Jewellery, Gold Iphone Worth $40m by Myhoneypie(f): 1:21pm On Jul 05, 2019
Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos State has ordered the forfeiture of 2,149 pieces of jewellery and a customised gold iPhone, valued at $40m, belonging to a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The judge ordered that the items should be temporarily forfeited to the Federal Government.

The forfeiture order followed an ex parte application moved on Friday morning by a lawyer for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo.

The application, titled action in rem, had Diezani as the only defendant and it was filed pursuant to Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and other related Offences Act No. 14, 2006.

The EFCC said in the application that it found and recovered the jewellery and the customised gold iPhone “on the premises of the respondent,” adding that it reasonably suspected that the former minister acquired them with “proceeds of unlawful activities.”

According to the schedule attached to the application, the jewellery, categorised into 33 sets, include “419 expensive bangles; 315 expensive rings; 304 expensive earrings; 267 expensive necklaces; 189 expensive wristwatches; 174 expensive necklaces and earrings; 78 expensive bracelets; 77 expensive brooches; and 74 expensive pendants.”

The judge ordered the anti-graft agency to publish the forfeiture order in a national newspaper “for the respondent or anyone who is interested in the property sought to be forfeited to appear before this honourable court to show cause within 14 days why a final forfeiture order of the said properties should not be made in favour of the Federal Government of Nigeria.”

Politics / Adeleke Was Robbed, Nigeria Is Finished – Fani Kayode Declares by Myhoneypie(f): 12:15pm On Jul 05, 2019
Reactions are coming in on the victory of the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in the September 22 2018 gubernatorial election in Osun state.

The election which has lingered on for a while now has seen the case go from the State Election Petition Tribunal to the Appeal Court and then finally the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court this morning validated the election of Gboyega Oyetola as the governor of Osun State.

The apex court affirmed the decision of the Court of Appeal which nullified the March 22 judgement of the Osun State election petition tribunal.

The tribunal had declared Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party as the winner of the September 2018 election.
The Supreme Court in a split judgement on Friday agreed substantially with the Court of Appeal which ruled that a majority judgement delivered at the tribunal was a nullity.

Fani Kayode in his reaction to the ruling hinted that he is not surprised at the ruling saying Adeleke was robbed.

Politics / AFCON 2019: Buhari Not Happy With Super Eagles Unpaid Allowances by Myhoneypie(f): 7:19am On Jul 02, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed surprise that the Super Eagles of Nigeria who at present are participating in the African Cup of Nations in Egypt are being owed allowances.

Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau State disclosed Buhari’s feelings to State House correspondents on Monday after a private meeting with the president at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said that football was a unifying factor in Nigeria; hence players’ motivation must be taken seriously.

Lalong, said that aside the plight of the Super Eagles, his visit was on behalf of his state and in his capacity as the new Chairman of Northern Governors Forum.

“I came in to have a discussion with the President; of course many of you know I just came back from Egypt where we went to cheer the Super Eagles and I also brought him back the concerns of those players that are there.

“I think he promised to handle the matter immediately; football is a unifying factor in Nigeria; we shouldn’t joke with it; if we bring back the cup; it will cement our relationship and that is one of it.

“Some of the concerns they raised is that many of their allowances were not paid and the President expressed surprise that he signed these allowances and they are not paid to them.

“I was a footballer and it is not like before when you play football out of patriotism; now it is combined with the economic aspect; but you bring people, definitely you must ensure; especially from the ministry that they are paid their allowances.

“We went there for the joy of it and the day we went there, they won their match and we left yesterday. I understand they lost.

“Defeating Guinea and expecting Madagascar to defeat us is a surprise; but I think with good motivation, these boys will bring back the cup.’’

He said he would formally take over as the Chairman, Northern Governors’ Forum on July 2 in Kaduna and thereafter create a roadmap for peace and security in the North.

The governor said he was mulling convening a Northern Security Summit immediately.

On the controversy generated by the proposed `Ruga’ Settlements Programme, Lalong said that `Ruga’ should not be anything that would bring controversy going by the level of sensitisation that have been done.

According to him, he is a member of the Food Security Committee and also a member of the Herdsmen/Farmers Committee.

“We have gone a long way on this issue; and we have said that the only solution that can address the herdsmen/farmers problem is the Ranching Policy.

“Remember that at one time, we have gone far when some people called it Colony and it created controversy.

“Again, we have gone far; and then we are hearing some other things; what they are talking is the same thing we are talking about.

“But they think when they mention ‘Ruga’, maybe, it is particular to a particular tribe; but what we are doing is all encompassing for the benefit of all Nigerians.

“I have said particularly in my state that animal husbandry, livestock rearing is not a prerogative of one tribe; everybody must get involved and that is what we have done in my state when we registered.’’

Lalong said that Plateau would put the structures to encourage and train youths to key into the programme.

He said that at present, permanent secretaries and retired civil servants who will also get involved in it were being trained.

The governor said that some states applied for the programme, adding that it was not Federal Government that was imposing it on any state.

“To the benefit of the president, he has not imposed on any state; it was voluntary and they said any state that is prepared to do that to address the problem of insecurity should come out and apply.

“So, some of the states applied and we are at the pilot scheme; and some mischief makers will start bringing terms to cause confusion in the country; it very unfortunate,’’ he said.

Sports / Anthony Joshua Given Strong Warning Ahead Of Andy Ruiz Jr Rematch by Myhoneypie(f): 7:08am On Jul 02, 2019
Former boxer, David Haye, has warned Anthony Joshua’s team to take the Andy Ruiz Jr rematch, if they know the reason for his defeat and not just attempt to repair his reputation.

Joshua is expected to reveal details of a second fight with Ruiz Jr very soon, after his world title reign and unbeaten record were ended by a stunning defeat in New York.

Haye hopes that Joshua knows the cause of that loss, before enforcing a second fight and would have backed the 29-year-old, if he needed a few more fights to prepare for Ruiz Jr.

He told Sky Sports: “The fact that I’m hearing that there’s going to be a direct rematch is actually quite heart-warming, because it gives me the thought that the powers that be, Team AJ, realise they got it wrong, and they know what needs to be done to rectify it.

“If they do go for a rematch, they are a smart team, they know what they’re doing. They’ve got him to this stage. They are not going to put him back in a fight against someone who has got his number.

“If he says ‘I need two or three fights to work against smaller guys who come forward, to prepare me better for that,’ I would be happy with that as well. Okay, smart move.

“The fact they are talking about an immediate rematch, I hope they are not just doing it for PR sake. I hope they are doing it because they truly know that it was a freak thing that happened and he’ll be better.”

Politics / Ruga Settlements: Our Deal With Herdsmen, By South East Govs {chief David Umahi} by Myhoneypie(f): 9:19pm On Jun 30, 2019
As reactions continue to trail the federal government’s proposal for establishment of Ruga settlements in some states, the South East Governors Forum has disclosed its proposed deal with the members of the Miyetti Allah as panecea to achieving lasting peace among farmers and herdsmen.

Chairman of the South East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi, said though there is no plan for any Ruga settlement in any part of South East and South South, the zones can make a very good business with sale of grasses to the herdsmen in exchange for meat.

Umahi, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Uzor, said there will be no part of the South East that will be given out for establishment of Ruga.

He noted the zone is purely agrarian with limited landmass for farming and therefore cannot accommodate Ruga.

Umahi, according to the statement, said the zone actually proposed a deal with MACBAN to take their cattle to the Northern parts where grazing reserve was established long time ago and rely completely on the grasses grown in the South for feeding of their cattle.

Umahi, who was chairman Technical Committee on Farmers and Herdsmen clash carved from the federal Economic Council under the chairmanship of the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo made a recommendation for revamping of the already existing grazing reserve in various parts of the North to enable farmers have unhindered access to their farmlands while herdsmen rely solely on proceeds from the farmers.

Explaining how the deal will work, the governor said: “The way it works is that the herdsmen will bring down their cows to the South East and sell us as meat while they will load the grasses which are grown here in the same trailer with which they transported their cows to feed their cattle in those grazing reserve which should be made comfortable for them.“

The statement also quoted Umahi as saying that with this proposed deal, herdsmen are expected to embrace anti- open grazing by returning to the ranches in the north and do their business on the trade- by- barter basis of selling cows to the south and buying grass to feed their cows in the north.

Religion / Rape Allegation: COZA Declares Seven-day Fast Against Distractors by Myhoneypie(f): 7:25pm On Jun 30, 2019
Amid allegations of rape levelled against its Senior Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly has declared seven days of fasting starting from Monday.

This comes as protesters have vowed to continue to demand for justice following allegations by Busola Dakolo, wife of popular Musician, Timi Dakolo, that Fatoyinbo raped her 20 years ago.

Addressing congregants on Sunday, Fatoyinbo said the yearly special programme titled, ‘Seven Days of Glory’, which usually takes place from July 1 to July 7, had been suspended.

The programme has in the past attracted international preachers like Creflo Dollar and Bishop T.D Jakes.

However, Fatoyinbo, who claimed to be speaking under the instruction of God, said the programme had to be cancelled because he did not want the invited preachers to go through the embarrassment of being heckled by protesters.

Fatoyinbo added, “We will have prayers for those who are interested in coming but we are not going to have the seven days of glory. It has been suspended because I don’t want all those kind of stuff.

“So, if you want to pray, come but the regular seven days of prayer, having preachers, come in, you don’t want to put your guest speakers through that. We love to host people properly.”

His speech was greeted with chants of ‘We love you pastor’ from worshippers.

In a prayer that ensued, he added, “As we start our fasting, even though we are not doing the seven days of glory (programme) as we usually do, those of you who are led to come and pray here, as you come, the Lord will lift you up.”

Shortly after Fatoyibo’s speech, his wife, Modele, attested to the integrity of her husband, insisting that he was not a rapist.

Mrs. Fatoyinbo said, “Not even as an unbeliever would my husband rape someone. Hello, let me talk, please, not even as an unbeliever.”

However, her husband quickly grabbed the microphone from her, saying, “The elders are stepping into it, please let them handle it.”

Earlier, the church, which usually begins its sermon at 10am, held a session of testimonies by female members, apparently with the aim of rubbishing allegations that Fatoyinbo was a rapist.

About seven women came out one after the other to share their ‘COZA Experience’.

The women all claimed their lives had hit rock bottom but God used Fatoyinbo to save them from destruction.

While Fatoyinbo was being eulogised inside the church auditorium, he was being heckled by protesters outside.

The protesters, mainly women, demanded justice and asked for the pastor to step down.

The #ChurchToo Movement, a group of at least 126 civil society organisations and individuals, which organised the protest, marched to the church premises around 9.30am clad in white t-shirts and holding placards that read ‘We are watching you,’ ‘Your pastor is not your God,’ ‘Thou shall not rape’ and ‘No to sexual abuse in my church,’ among others.

At the scene of the protest, COZA protocol officers formed a barricade against the protesters as officers of the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps accosted protesters and journalists who tried to intercept the barricade.

A convener of #ChurchToo, Bukky Shonibare, said, “We demand that the board and leadership of COZA commence investigation into the allegation of rape levelled by Busola Dakolo and any other member of the church against its lead pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo.

“While the investigation is being carried out, Pastor Fatoyinbo must be asked to step down from any leadership role in the church to avoid partiality.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has seized not less than 90 cartons of fake ”Fidossi Spunmante” drinks, a brand of alcoholic wine, without registration number in Edo.

Mrs Itua Esther, Assistant Director of NAFDAC in Edo disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Saturday.

Itua said the seizure followed a raid on five shops at Upper Sakponba, Mission Road, Benin on Friday.

“We are after Festa Spunmante, the registered brand of this particular drink is Fidossi Spunmante.
“Festa Spunmante does not have NAFDAC registration number on it, this brand of drink did not pass through the normal process.

“NAFDAC is the body that controls, regulates exportation and importation and use of regulated products. This particular drink falls under food which is part of what NAFDAC regulates.

“The company that produces the brand is supposed to have come through NAFDAC, we do an inspection of the facility abroad.

“The selling of fake drinks and other regulated products is not on the increase because the agency is not resting on its fight against counterfeit regulated products.

“The consumption of counterfeit drinks could cause kidney problems,” she said.

NAN confirmed that while the original sells for about N8, 000, the fake is sold for N5, 500 per carton.

Itua explained that the company was supposed to pay a stipulated fee for imported food products and the brand of the drink would be taken to the laboratory for a test.

She said the brand was usually tested for the agency to ascertain what the content was about and if it was fit to be consumed by Nigerians.

The assistant director advised consumers to be vigilant and ensure that they purchase only products with NAFDAC registration numbers and still in their shelf life periods.

She called on consumers to also report suspected dealers and fakers of regulated products to the nearest NAFDAC office.

Residents and businessmen at Ipodo and Olowu areas in Ikeja on Saturday morning woke up to see the presence of hundreds of military men cleaning up the environment and clearing their drainages.

Majority of the soldiers were dressed in branded white vests and military camouflage trousers with the inscription NADCEL/COSAT 2019 while a few others wore complete military camouflage.

They were all kitted with rain boots, hand gloves, mouth/nose guard and working with shovels, rakes, brooms with wheelbarrows carting away the refuse to standby compactors.

The soldiers who came from the 9th Brigade, Nigeria Army Cantonment, Ikeja were led by the Commander of the Brigade, Brigadier-General Nasir Jega who represented the General Officer Commanding 81Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Sanni Yusuf.

“It is part of the task from the Army Chief of Staff that on this day we should go round and carry out this exercise so as to promote civil-military relations with civilians and communities around us.

On why Ipodo/ Olowu was picked for the exercise, the commander said it is because the area is close to the Cantonment, “Ipodo is a little bit closer to the cantonment and we chose it in order to relate with the community that is closer to us so that we have very good civil/military relations with them”, he said.

A businessman who owns a shop in the area, Mr. Ogbonna Onwuzuruike from Imo who said he feels good and happy about the cleaning stated that as he came to open his shop he met the military doing environment sanitation.

“I am happy to see them come out enmasse to do the cleanup exercise, I feel so good and happy about it, it is not their duty, this is to show us good example that we businessmen should clean our environment and make Lagos clean.

“It is good for us to continue with the trend, it is good for we businessmen to keep our environment clean,” he said

Onwuzuruike also said he would want the state government to reintroduce the monthly environmental sanitation exercise so as to keep Lagos clean.

Politics / Buhari’s Cabinet: Scramble For Appointment Hits Imo APC by Myhoneypie(f): 3:44pm On Jun 28, 2019
Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State are currently trading words as Nigerians await Muhammadu Buhari’s naming of his cabinet members.

The APC members are locking horns over the ministerial slot for the State, leading to petitions and counter-petitions.

Some APC support groups in the State, in a petition made available to DAILY POST, which was addressed to President Buhari, asked him not to consider the duo of former Imo Deputy-governor and former Senator representing Imo West in the National Assembly as ministers.

In separate letters to the President, the groups, Imo APC Footsoldiers, Imo Patriots’ Front and Concerned Imo APC Stakeholders, alleged among other things that the duo of Senator Hope Uzodimma and Prince Eze Madumere were not inclined to the Next Level manifesto of the President, and therefore would be wrong casts to represent Imo State on the Federal Executive Council.

The Imo Concerned APC Stakeholders advised the President to demand the polling booth, ward and LGA results of those angling to be appointed ministers.

The group argued that “a minister needs to be politically strong and trustworthy among his people, in order to, apart from helping to actualize the President’s vision in his second term, also help in rebuilding the Party in the State, considering the poor showing of the Party in the last elections.”

The group also accused some people it described as ‘Party hijackers’ of being responsible for the Party’s poor showing in the last elections, especially, the Presidential and National Assembly elections, where the APC only won two House of Representatives seats and one Senate seat.

The group gave credit to the leadership of the immediate past governor of the State, Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha for helping to sustain the Party in the State.

The Imo Patriots’ Front, who wrote specifically against the nomination of the immediate past Deputy-governor of the State as minister alleged among other things that “Madumere is politically weak and could not win his polling booth in all the elections of 2019.”

Another group, the Imo APC Footsoldiers adduced ten reasons Senator Hope Uzodimma is not eligible to serve in the Next Level cabinet.

The group accused Chief Uzodimma of being behind the poor showing of the Party in the State, and also of unable to “clear his name of several allegations bordering on graft, certificate forgery and breach of contract.”

They argued that the President would be rewarding indolence by appointing the Omuma-born former lawmaker as a minister.
