givedemwotowoto: Wait, let me get this straight. Why do you keep bringing up an entirely different security issue in the SE? Are you using that as a justification for Igbos being told that Lagos is not their home as citizens of Nigeria? What exactly is your point?
The issue of insecurity in the SE is a completely different matter that should be discussed in a separate topic. It's unfortunate you had to bring it into this discussion. Are you implying that Igbos living peacefully in Lagos deserve hostility because of security incidents involving armed herdsmen in the SE? That's intellectually dishonest, and quite frankly, disturbing.
Let's stay on topic. This discussion is about failure to uphold and defend the constitution which is the very agreement that keeps us all together as a country.
And for the record, the screenshot you posted from the FG is from 8 years ago, that's all you could show as FG's posture for incidents happening as recently as 2025? You just can't even acknowledge FG's silence on this matter. This is really telling. I will love to recommend Mastering English |

Gandollar: Kanu and his ESN gave them option to either rent houses and live like every other sane person. They were told to leave the bushes where they run to hide after commiting atrocious acts or leave the region entirely.
Now, tell me how Igbos have committed henious crimes in SW to warrant your bigotry.
Their only crime was daring to vote for Peter Obi right? And for coming to your land to do business and make tremendous progress right? You are here romanticizing clowns like Igboho and Kanu Okay, I get it now. I don't converse with people sympathetic to terrorism |

Brendaniel: Ok, herdsmen were killing Igbos in the south east, Igbos asked the herdsmen to leave not Fulanis(please let's be detailed) , because it seems like you are mixing up issues here just to justify injustice, Igbos never asked the Fulanis to leave they were specific to herdsmen because they were killing Igbos, please can you tell me the offense of the Igbos in Lagos or southwest for the demand for the entire tribe to leave?
please answer the question to support your justification for what you people are doing to the Igbos... This is your hypocrisy showing. Herdsmen were killing not IPOB or ESN right? Or every Herdsman is a criminal so they should all leave. You should learn to punish the criminal element and not blindly say they should all leave including the ones involved in legal business who have not hurt anyone. As for the people saying Igbos should leave anywhere, they are also criminals involved in hate speech who should be prosecuted. I can say this because I don't care who is involved in hate speech, as far as it is hate speech, it should be stamped out. You on the other hand cannot condemn the blanket expulsion of herdsmen because you know what you really want to do |

Gandollar: Didn't Igboho chase Fulani out of his domain. Yolu kept quiet because it was not politically expedient at the time. Fulanis have threatened Igbos living in the north too, but you never condemned it because it was to the people you love to hate.
What next?
You came here to compare apples and oranges. It's very very sad that you are a mod over the rest of us. Igboho is a criminal with criminal and selfish intent. Have you ever seen me praise him? I have even condemned his actions and that is what any sane human would do |

Gandollar: You can now see how deep the problem is. From his comment, you can see he's a perpetrator of the evil going on in Lagos and other places.
I'm sure he uses alternative monikers here to champion his acute bigotry. When you want to callout evil call it out entirely. The problem Nigerians have is that you call out evil done by others on your people and turn a blind eye to evil done by your people to others. Until we as an entire country change, no one will take us seriously |
Politics › Re: When Citizens Are Told To "Go Home", The Constitution Has Already Failed by Mynd44(mod): 6:39am On Oct 10, 2025 |
givedemwotowoto: Here is the difference. The government was quick to condemn it when it started, and it became a national issue of intense discussion between FG and state governors.
But are these issues even comparable? In the case of the herdsmen, this borders on heinous crimes committed by armed gangs against communities. What heinous crimes were committed by Igbos against communities in Lagos that makes this comparable?
Where is the government outrage on this? Where is the outrage of those charged with defending the constitution? The thing about hypocrisy is that those who practice it like to only examine things through their own lens. You want to say that there has not been any call by the governmnet at various levels against comments like that against people of South Eastern origin? (Look at the attached pictures. In the case of the herdsmen, you willingly want to demonize an entire profession over crimes that were most likely not committen by them. The villages in the SE that have been abandoned due to insecurity who were the attackers? Are they not IPOB or ESN? Who has enforced an illegal curfew on residents herdsmen? Who has been terrorizing and kidnapping people in the region herdsmen right?

givedemwotowoto: If anyone wants anyone to "go home" then a new agreement has to be written, you can't be operating under the same agreement that you dishonor but expect them to honor. I agree with the OP. Telling people to go home is wrong and unconstitutional. But, the problem is that if injustice is done to A and by B and people like the OP didn't see it as wrong, when that same injustice is done to B and they complain, it becomes a problem.

I don't understand something.
A guy gave you an engagement ring signifying an intention to marry you, that arrangement breaks down and now you are planning to "sell the ring or give it out". What happened to returning the ring to the person who gave it to you? |
