Hey Guys... Let's meet up with other students in other schools. Join the My School Lounge WhatsApp group and make new friends, learn new things, discuss project topics, campus life style, breaking news ( be the first to hear and see what's happening in other schools) etc.. Its going to be fun, who knows this might just expand and become something bigger...

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) recently called off its one month strike after reaching an agreement with the Federal Government that their demand would be granted before the end of October. It is barely one week to the end of October and the Federal Government is yet to fulfil any aspect of the agreement made with the union in September. The President of the Union said that the initial strike action was suspended in order to allow the government proceed with the implementation of their agreement. An anonymous lecturer who spoke with the Nation Newspaper said that the Union is warming up for another strike action because the government is yet to address the issue. He said " the government has not dine anything. We have not heard from them and it is just one week to the end of the October deadline. I can assure you that we are warming up and there is the possibility that from November 1, we will resume the suspension action. They told our leaders during negotiations that they have prepared everything for the implementation. They were even brandishing some papers, especially on the earned Academic Allowance, but we have not seen anything or heard from them." Sadly if the Federal Government does not comply and fulfil their own end of the bargain, universities across Nigeria might just be shut again...
