Sean Tizzle burst onto the Nigerian entertainment scene with his hit song, ‘Sho lee’, his first single which was an anthem of sorts across the country in its first month of release earlier in the year. The follow up video, released recently, has also already been touted to be one of the best videos out this year. Rayme and Anderson of Afica's prestigious blog NairaTunes caught up with him recently where the artiste revealed some of the secrets of his instant success. Background? My real name is Oluwaseun Oluwabamidele Morihanfen. I am from Ondo State, from a family of six but we lost one of my sisters a few years back so now we are five. I’m second to the last child. Education? I attended C&S Primary School, Command Secondary School, Ibadan and then the University of Ibadan, where I studied Theatre Arts. How can you describe your growing up days in Lagos? It was fun and normal maybe because I was the second to the last born and so for a long time, I enjoyed being pampered. But, basically I had a normal up-bringing. When and how did you discover your talent for music? From a very tender age, I had always loved to sing or act so I knew that one day, it would get serious. But I didn’t just know when. How did you start? I started from secondary school, and then I later joined a boy band of three. Then, we would gather and sing together. When did you decide to do music professionally? I started music professionally five years ago when I met D Tunes. That same year, I got my first recording deal. How did you come about the name Sean Tizzle? Sean is from my real name Seun, Tizzle is my piercing, just another way of expressing myself. So, what would you say makes you unique as an artiste? I’m unique because I am just me. I am just doing my thing. I am on my own lane and focused on my race. Tell us about some of your musical influences growing up. Back then, I remember Micheal Jackson was a great influence and 2face was always in my head. Fela was always talked about around me, so I would say Micheal Jackson, 2 face, and Fela Anikulapo Kuti. What kind of music do you do? I do everything because I used to be a rapper and now a singer. So I can do all genres. What challenges did you face before now? I didn’t see anything I faced or rather went through as challenges. I believe everything that happened was supposed to happen to bring me here right now, and I am grateful. Sho Lee is your first single which is already an instant hit. What would you say was the secret to your instant success? God, a good producer and a wonderful team. Tell us about the D Tunes connection? How did you meet? I met D Tunes in 2009 in a studio in Ikorodu that he came to. We met and connected and ever since, we have been friends. Now that you are signed as his artiste, what should your fans expect? Expect good music. Just good music. Tell us about the video, ‘Sho Lee’? Who was the brain behind it? UNlimited LA and Difference Entertainment team put up a concept then agreed and then we went to shoot. What’s next for Sean Tizzle? More good music. Any album this year? My label would decide that when the time is right. Any collaborations to look out for? Keep your fingers crossed. Tell us about your normal day? At least two interviews during the day and a show at night. How do you relax? I sleep, play video games, and chill with my team. Favourite hangout spot? I don’t have yet. Your favourite gadget? No favourite gadget for now. What would you have been if not a musician? Nothing else because I was born to do this. Would you say you are fashionable? Yes. Your favourite fashion item (s)? My gold chains How many do you own? Several. Tell us something no one knows about you? I’m a very good kisser. Last words? First, I want to thank God, D Tunes for believing in me, then my fans, my team and my family. Thank you all very much. http://nairatunes..com/2013/11/i-was-born-to-sing-sean-tizzle-tells.html?m=1 |

Beyoncé was pulled off stage by a shirtless concertgoer during a performance in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Sunday night. The over-excited fan managed to put his arms around the 32-year-old singer and yank her off the elevated platform she had been singing from. However, Beyoncé's entourage were quick to step in, with two security guards rushing onto the stage to disentangle the singer from the grip of the fan. The incident occurred when Beyoncé moved around the platform and leaned forward to sing to the crowd. While most of the ticket-holders were happy just to bask in the singer's glow, the shirtless man became overwhelmed by the attention and decided to try and engage Beyoncé in a hug. After Beyoncé's security guards pulled her back onto the stage, Beyoncé quickly resumed singing and dancing in her sequined blue jumpsuit during the performance at the Estadio do Morumbi stadium following the incident. 'It's all right,' she told the crowd as she picked up a Brazilian flag that was tossed onto the stage. She moved toward the man after resuming singing and told him: 'It's alright, it's alright.' Mother-of-one Beyoncé then stopped her Mrs. Carter show to address the man and ask him his name. 'I love you all,' she said towards the end of a 90-second clip YouTube clip, which captured the incident. Beyoncé earlier this month kicked off the Latin American leg of The Mrs. Carter Show in Brazil. She has her one-year-old daughter Blue Ivy on the road with her and recently shared photos of the little girl from a family holiday aboard a luxury yacht. Beyoncé has been married since April 2008 to 43-year-old rapper and music mogul Jay-Z. http://nairatunes..com/2013/09/beyonce-pulled-off-stage-by-over.html

The police in Enugu State have arrested one Samuel Ani after he allegedly “kidnapped himself” and demanded N2 million ransom from his brothers. Samuel saw his own kidnap as the quickest way of getting financial assistance from his brothers, who he labeled “stingy fellows”. However, it has ended up badly for the coffin dealer, an indigene of Ugwuaji, Enugu South Local Government Area. It was gathered that he faked kidnap and hid himself for six days at a bush behind his shop situated at Gariki axis of Awkunanaw also in Enugu South, from where he was making telephone calls to his two younger brothers in a very convincing tone that he had been abducted and that the sum of N2 million was required to get him out of the purported kidnappers den, else he would be killed. The spokesman of the police in Enugu State, Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, who confirmed the incident disclosed that the case was reported to the State Police Command, which mobilized its anti- kidnapping unit. According to him, “when Samuel intensified his call that the purported kidnappers were on the verge of killing him if his people cannot bring the money, which was later reduced to N1.2m, some amount of money was sent across to the account number provided by the purported kidnappers and a certain girl who went to cash the sum of initial N100, 000 sent into the account in one of the new generation banks located around Agbani road axis on 29/8/13, was tracked and picked by the operatives. “Her revelation led to the arrest of Samuel who disclosed that he was not kidnapped but that he kidnapped himself so that his wealthy younger brothers can pay money for ransom which he will use to sort out his business dealings” http://nairatunes..com/2013/09/man-kidnaps-self-demands-n2million.html

A student drank so much vodka she tore her windpipe vomiting and had to spend six days in hospital. Megan Thomason, 21, was violently ill for 24 hours after downing triple shots costing just £2.89 each during a night on the town. She was admitted to hospital where she was diagnosed with surgical emphysema, which caused her face and neck to swell so much she could have suffocated. She went out with friends in York on June 12 this year and headed straight to a bar where she had three vodka and Cokes. After visiting two more bars, she spent the night with a friend but woke up and began being sick. ‘It was the worst experience of my whole life,’ said Miss Thomason. ‘People say they get hung over but I nearly died. Because they were triples, it was actually the equivalent of nine drinks and you don’t think of that at the time. ‘I was just in shock when I realised how serious it was.’ She failed to respond to anti-nausea medication and it took doctors some time to realise Miss Thomason from Barlby, North Yorkshire, lacks the enzymes necessary to break down alcohol, causing her face to swell. ‘Basically, it felt like bubble wrap inside my cheeks and my mouth and chest,’ she said. ‘It was just one night out for a few drinks and it left me in hospital for a week, I could have died,’ she said. The Hull University business student has now given up alcohol for good. http://nairatunes..com/2013/09/student-suffers-throat-explosion-from.html
