​Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been ruled out of his side's match against Manchester United on Sunday, according to various reports.

The Belgium international has been part of an impressive Blues defence this season, keeping 13 clean sheets and conceding just 25 goals, but he will play no part in the match at Old Trafford after being left out Antonio Conte's squad due to an ankle injury picked up in training.

The injury means back-up goalie Asmir Begovic will make his first Premier League appearance of the season in one of his side's most important games of the year. After their lead at the top of the Premier League was cut to four points by Tottenham on Saturday, Courtois' knock will be horrific news for Chelsea fans.

Courtois has been one of the standout performers throughout the season but he will have to watch his team-mates as they try to regain their seven point lead at the top of the table. The club will grateful to be able to turn to Begovic, however, with the Bosnia and Herzegovina international a proven Premier League performer after several years at Stoke.
