A five-year-old girl was fined £150 by a council for selling 50p cups of lemonade to festival goers. The girl's father Andre Spicer said his daughter had set up the stall in Mile End, east London, while thousands of music fans were on their way to the Lovebox Festival at the weekend. Mr Spicer said his daughter burst into tears and told him "I've done a bad thing". Tower Hamlets Council has since cancelled the fine and apologised. Mr Spicer said his daughter loved the idea of setting up a stall near their home. "She just wanted to put a smile on people's faces. She was really proud of herself," he said. "But after a small time trading, four enforcement officers walked over from the other side of the road. "I was quite shocked. I thought that they would just tell us to pack up and go home. Street trading licence rules: *To operate a market stall, you will need a street trading licence There are two types of street trading licences: temporary and permanent The application fee for both temporary and permanent licences is £75 *You must be over 17 years of age to hold a licence *To sell hot/high risk food, there are several extra restrictions in place on a street trading licence Source: Tower Hamlets Council Common sense fail "But they turned on their mobile camera and began reading from a big script explaining that she did not have a trading licence. "My daughter clung to me screaming 'Daddy, Daddy, I've done a bad thing.' She's five. "We were then issued a fine of £150. We packed up and walked home." A council spokesman said: "We are very sorry that this has happened. We expect our enforcement officers to show common sense and to use their powers sensibly. "This clearly did not happen. "The fine will be cancelled immediately and we have contacted Mr Spicer and his daughter to apologise." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-40679075

Arsene Wenger believes Saturday's exhibition match between Arsenal and Chelsea should not be considered a pre-season friendly because of the heated rivalry between the Premier League clubs. Arsenal take on the league champions at the Bird's Nest in Beijing in a re-run of last season's FA Cup final, a game which the Gunners won 2-1. Chelsea will play Arsenal again before the start of the new league season, the London clubs facing off at Wembley in the Community Shield, and Wenger says Saturday's meeting is important. "It's difficult to predict, but it's a friendly between Chelsea and Arsenal," the Frenchman told reporters on Friday. "That means it's not really a friendly. "There is always some desire to have superiority. We played them in the FA Cup, we play them in the Community Shield and then again early in the season." A sickness bug has caused selection issues for Wenger during his side's pre-season tour of Asia, which included a penalty shoot-out victory over Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup. "[Theo] Walcott might not play tomorrow," Wenger said. "Today we had 21 players fit. Walcott was not ready, but it's nothing major." France international Laurent Koscielny should be able to take his place in the Arsenal backline, however, after shaking off an injury. "My back is better," the centre-back said. "Today I trained and I'm OK, not 100 per cent but OK. We will see tomorrow.

Chelsea have announced the completed signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid on a five-year contract after he finalised personal terms and completed a medical. The Spain international is the Blues’ club-record purchase for an initial fee believed to be in the region of £60million, and potentially rising to £70m, according to various reports. Morata was not a regular for Real Madrid last season and had been linked with a number of clubs for much of the summer, with the likes of Manchester United and AC Milan previously interested in him. However, Antonio Conte is a long-time admirer of the player whom he signed for Juventus in 2014, though he never got to work with the player as he suddenly left the club to take over the Italian national team.

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Alvaro Morata has completed his move from Real Madrid on a five-year-deal. Morata will now join up with the squad on its pre-season tour of Asia. A strong, quick and skilful forward adept at leading the line and bringing his team-mates into play, Morata’s movement on and off the ball make him a constant threat to opposition defenders, whether he is running at speed from deep or looking to strike in the 18-yard box. His goals come in all forms - outstanding long-range efforts, poachers’ finishes, headers and one-on-ones. He is also comfortable on either foot. Upon completing his transfer, Morata said: ‘I am so happy to be here. It’s an incredible emotion to be part of this big club. I am looking to work hard, score as many goals as I can and to win as many trophies as possible.’ Technical director Michael Emenalo added: ‘We are delighted to complete Alvaro’s signing and welcome him to the club. We believe he can make a great impact for Chelsea and look forward to seeing him in action. ‘Alvaro has proven class at the highest level and his quality will be a huge asset to Antonio and the squad.’ A regular for Spain, the 24-year-old has scored nine goals in 20 appearances - including three at last year’s European Championships. Morata made his debut for Real Madrid shortly after his 18th birthday having impressed for their youth teams and began to feature regularly during the 2012/13 campaign. He provided a fine assist for Karim Benzema in an El Clasico victory that season, as well as scoring his first goal for the club - a winner at Levante. In the next campaign, Morata scored eight league goals, averaging one every 70 minutes under the stewardship of former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti. He also opened his Champions League account that year as Real won the trophy for the 10th time. In the final, Morata was introduced with his side a goal down; they ended up beating their great city rivals Atletico 4-1. Juventus moved to sign the striker in the summer of 2014 and he was a regular as they continued their dominance of Italian football, comfortably winning Serie A in 2015 and 2016, with Morata prominent. He also helped them reach the Champions League final in his first season in Turin, but this time the Spaniard ended up on the losing side despite equalising from close range against Barcelona in Berlin. Real exercised a buyback option last summer and he enjoyed the most profitable season of his career to date on his return to the Bernabeu, scoring 20 goals in all competitions and winning La Liga and the Champions League, when he came on as a late substitute against his former club. Welcome to Chelsea, Alvaro!

jonbellion:did you even read the post? |
The first time my friends talked about watching Game Of Thrones, the one thing that really popped up mostly was the sex scenes in the series and how comparable it was to spartacus, so I put off watching the series for awhile. Last month a dear friend of mine, worships at Deeper Life, told me how intriguing the series was. I was a bit taken aback considering the fact that I know the guy to be a hardcore Deeper Life member who does not take his spirituality for granted, so I made my view known to him. I told him what I've heard about the series and how much the series seems to center on sex and depravity. He laughed and asked me if I've watched an episode, I answered in the negative. He told me not to judge the Series by what other people say about it. He admitted that the first episode contained some sex scenes, nudity, etc. But the show has more depth than that. If you're watching just for the sex stuff, sorry for you but that's the only episode that contains that kinda stuff. So I went to o2tvseries and downloaded the first season.. then second, third... down to the last episode (season 7 episode 1) and I got to admit, The GOT is more than just the sex, nudity and taboo, it brings to light more issues of truth like the fact that politics is really a dirty game, even the most evil persons we know might have a noble agenda, misplaced priorities etc. and I've enjoyed every single episode. Hope you do too. #winterIsComing - There's an evil underway |
Watching ‘Game of Thrones’ as a Christian Westeros as the Valley of the Shadow of Death I once called Game of Thrones “torture porn” and refused to watch it. I had tried, several times, to watch it and I found that it was filled with blood, gore, nudity, and sex — not something a Christian should engage with. The first time I tried to watch it I was on an airplane. I had it on my iPad and became mindful of a kid in the aisle seat one row back and across watching what I was watching. I had to turn it off. I was certain it was bad for my sanctification. Last April, when I was in the hospital trying not to die, I got moved out of the ICU and placed on the cardiac floor. By at least 30 years I had to be the youngest person on the floor and the late twenty-something nurse at night decided I needed to stay up and watch Game of Thrones with him. I had been staying up watching Adult Swim . Despite protesting, the nurse turned it on and I was soon drawn into the show. Though there was a good bit of violence, the nudity had largely been left behind in the first season or so and we were beyond that. With the run up to the premiere of season seven, I have seen several friends circulate a rather convicting piece from John Piper on watching Game of Thrones. And he largely leaves no room except to conclude that one should not watch it — at least had I started watching in Season 1. Coming from a position of thinking it rather hard for a Christian to watch something like this, I have arrived at the position that I think it depends on why one is watching. Surely if one is watching for the nudity or violence then it would be terrible for one’s sanctification. Even now I watch Game of Thrones on a delay so I can fast forward through anything I think inappropriate. The reason I watch Game of Thrones now is that I think it is probably the best scripted show on television. Daredevil’s season 1 comes close to really capturing humanity in a similar way, but I see in Game of Thrones a lot of great morality tales woven together into a larger theme. I disagree with Berny Belvedere that the show is largely preoccupied with only one theme. Here are some themes I’ve noticed the show competently portray. The good guy does not always win. The saint is often martyred while the sinner prevails. Evil marches ever closer and infiltrates while people deny it even exists. But there is a long running, simmering view that the bad will one day get their due. It is not just winter coming, but judgment. Most shows on television foundationally believe in good people sometimes doing bad things. Game of Thrones had a lot of bad people often doing good things for bad reasons. It has good people doing bad things. And often it has the best people doing the best things only to wind up dead. There is a realism in the fantastic that more accurately captures the depraved nature of man than most shows. I cannot emphasize enough how well written the show is and how well the characters have developed over time. I agree completely that watching Game of Thrones is not for everyone. I know people who at one time were obsessed with pornography and it has been a slow climb out of the sewer for them. I do not recommend they watch it. I know others who cannot take the sight of blood at all and I do not recommend they watch it. And I know Christians who are convinced watching Game of Thrones will send them straight to hell. I disagree, but I do not encourage them to watch it. Were Game of Thrones to keep up the nudity and violence of the first season, I have no doubt I would not have been able to get into watching it. But the show changed over time as did my opinion of the show. Now I am excited to watch it and find that many of those most critical of it are people who have either never seen it or tuned out, like I did, in the first season unable to stomach it. I see no harm in not watching it and see harm, with some, in watching it. But for many, even among Christians, I think they are on safe ground watching it if they are not just seeking the cheap thrills of violence and sex. Of course, your mileage may vary. But no, I do not think at this late stage in the great game it is bad for my sanctification. I think the show, at its core, is a good reminder that this world is fleeting, evil exists, and real redemption cannot come from man. Erick Erickson. |

Can I turn in my Itel S11 for this one? |
And the best part of it all, Morata is a prolific striker. He's so go with aerial attack, scoring multiple goals with headers. He can score from any angle, left or right. He's also very good at outside shot and he usually takes his chances. He's a strong player and a good dribbler. Doesn't waste chances and very confident when it comes to 1 on 1. I think Chelsea have got themselves a good deal. Can't wait to see what he'll bring this season! |
Now my mind can know peace... pheeeww! #GoBlues Lalasticlala I been think say you be Chelsea fan, come celebrate with us na.. |
Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata for a fee reported to be about £70m. The Spain international must now agree personal terms and pass a medical to complete the transfer. The 24-year-old would be the Premier League champions' fourth signing of the summer, after goalkeeper Willy Caballero, defender Antonio Rudiger and midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. Morata scored 20 goals last season after rejoining Real from Juventus. He won La Liga and the Champions League, but the majority of his appearances were as a substitute. Manchester United had been interested in Morata prior to signing Everton striker Romelu Lukaku for an initial £75m.

Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez has finalised a move to Manchester City, according to reports in Chile. The 28-year-old enjoyed the season of his career with the Gunners, culminating with FA Cup glory at Wembley. But failure to challenge for the title has led to speculation over whether the former Barcelona forward would extend his stay at the Emirates with just one year remaining on his deal. With moves to City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich rumoured, much-respected Chilean journalist Fernando Solabarrieta dropped the bombshell that Guardiola has won out for the player. In a 1-1 draw with Russia ahead of the Confederations Cup, Sanchez supplied a superb assist for former QPR wing-back Mauricio Isla to break the deadlock. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-news-transfer-alexis-sanchez-10597518 |
