https://toocoded.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Malia-Obama-300x148.png Sasha and Malia Obama are different than other kids their age. Their dad is the leader of the free world and because of that their social media footprint is severely restricted. But what folks are calling the first Instagram image of the Obama family has just leaked. It turned up early this morning on the IG site for the Hip Hop collective Pro Era, and it appears to show Malia Obama wearing a Pro Era T-shirt. https://toocoded.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Malia-Obama-IG-1024x624-300x182.png In an unfortunate coincidence, we also got word this morning that Joey Bada$$ — the most prominent Pro Era member — was arrested in Australia for allegedly punching a security guard. But we’re certainly not going to play the silly guilt-by-faint-association game here, and are just happy to see the 16-year old is living as normal of a teenage life as she can. So a photo of D’banj which was taken while he was performing at the Lagos countdown concert has been circulating the internet the past few hours. Mostly to poke fun at him for being caught in the pose that appears in the photo below. https://toocoded.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Dbanj-300x200.jpg As you all know, outside of P-Square, D’banj is probably the most impressionable performer in the history of Nigerian entertainment as he tends to deliver his performance with nothing short of high energy and deliberate attempts to entertain the crowd… so this picture which is just a still of his full performance may have been taken at the wrong time. My understanding is that D’banj delivered a solid performance on January 1 2015. See more pictures of his performance below… https://toocoded.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Dbanj_Cntdwn-260x300.jpg https://toocoded.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Dbanj_Countdown-198x300.jpg https://toocoded.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Lagos-Countdown-DBanj-300x200.jpg Source: http://toocoded.com/photo-dbanj-caught-in-awkward-pose-while-performing-onstage/ |
https://toocoded.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Jay-Z-oprah.png As part of Oprah’s OWN network’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of the historic Selma to Montgomery marches led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Jay-Z was interviewed on the current state of race relations. Jay prefaced his words by saying his take on Hip Hop’s influence on race is “interesting” and “strong.” Then he went in: “I think that hip hop has done more for racial relations than most cultural icons. Save Martin Luther King, because his dream speech we realized when President Obama got elected.” Hov goes on to say that people all the around the world took to Hip Hop and since “racism is taught at home” it’s very difficult to teach racism when “your kid looks up to Snoop Doggy Dogg.” “Before, people partied in separate clubs. There were hip-hop clubs and there were techno clubs,” Jay-Z explains. “Now, people party together, and once you have people partying, dancing, and singing along to the same music, then conversations naturally happen after that.” While there’s no doubt a lot of truth to Jay-Z’s words, the devil’s advocate would argue that some Hip Hop — including parts of Jay-Z’s catalog – has led to negative stereotyping of black Americans. Listen to Jay-Z below and let us know what you think. http://toocoded.com/jay-z-says-hip-hop-has-been-better-for-race-relations-than-most-cultural-icons/ |

https://s18.postimg.org/6majv8hyx/500_1415989141_unnamed_15.jpg Problem and Lil Jon link up for "Andale". Problem has been popping up just about everywhere since his breakthrough with "Like Whaaat" in 2012. Recently we've seen him linking with the likes of Childish Gambino and Rich Homie Quan for some pretty big tracks. The West Coast rapper has now unveiled his new official single, which could be his biggest moment yet. Wisely selecting Jahlil Beats (who's fresh off producingBobby Shmurda's "Hot Nigga" and Lil Jon (who's well into his second wind following "Turn Down For What" as collaborators, Problem has delivered "Andale" -- a phrase that may be hard to get out of your head after listening. If you happen to recognize it, it's probably due to the rapper performing the song on his most recent tour.Look out for more from Problem very soon.
