Politics / Re: Open Letter To President Tinubu: Tunji-ojo Needs Protection...... by naijaking1: 4:51pm On Jan 10 |
Who's Renewed Hope Collective? You shouldn't be surprised if it's run by Ojo himself, his family, tribal or religious bigots who insist that as long as the thief is our thief he must be a good thief. That's the reason simple accountability is not followed in Nigeria, because there's always a mounting parochial interest unwilling to let justice take it's course. Ojo is obviously doing some good work at the passport office, but there's no need to pay for and mount such an orchestrated campaign to protect him even before the investigation is started. Well, unless he actually has something to hide. |
Politics / Re: I Think The Igbos Are The Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria by naijaking1: 4:50pm On Jan 03 |
PHIPEX: Yes, that landmass nonsense is only used to divert attention in Nigeria. Where else is empty land mass used as an indicator of population? Montana has 20x more landmass than say Rhode Island, yet it's much less populated. Utah has more landmass than Georgia, but has less than half of the population and representation in Congress. In Nigeria, landmass is used for revenue sharing, number of political offices---an anomaly. 1 Like |

Haaaaah! The British knew it. The federal government also knows it, that's why there's a robust policy to deny it, and say otherwise. Why do you think that the census will not let you indicate your tribe 1 Like |

Politics / Re: One Of The Appeal Court Judges On Kano Case Is CJN’s Nephew - Chidi Odinkalu by naijaking1: 3:19pm On Nov 23, 2023 |
Prof. Odinkaluu has always criticized the compromise of Nigerian judiciary starting with the PDP era when Amechi who didn't participate in the election was made the winner of the election and declared governor. He has also criticized current APC subjugation of the judiciary. While PDP likely bribed the judiciary, APC has taken over total control of the judiciary by not only writing judgement for the courts, but by placing unqualified family members, girl friends, wives in judicial positions. The young and inexperienced son of the CJN was recently appointed a judge, so were relatives of the president of court of appeal. This situation should worry every right thinking Nigerian. 1 Like |

When Buhari and Fashiola were criminally neglecting SE federal roads that's when a sane citizen would have raised alarm, not after you cheered them because they were favoring you on the short run. 2 Likes |

Politics / Re: IMF Proposes Higher Taxes As Solution To Nigeria’s Fiscal Challenge by naijaking1: 8:05pm On Oct 14, 2023 |
Taxation is also an anti corruption tool, because those who pay these taxes would eventually demand accountability for their money. Unlike the so called federal allocation where accountability is poor, taxing 100 citizens 10 naira each is easily figured out and hopefully accounted for. Also, localities would welcome, depend, and drive these extra tax revenues, and it might reduce friction between the natives and the so called "visitors" who are actually paying the taxes to run the municipal government. If Igbos pay 90% of the taxes in any given area, obviously their interest has to be represented at some point, and local governments will go out of their way to attract and retain tax paying citizens and companies. Economics surpasses tribalism and even religion. 1 Like 1 Share |
