TGIF pals, today we shall be talking about how to maintain your PC in good healthy condition,
I want us to make it a habit each day to try saving the life of a computer...

I proceed, Incase You might be wondering how do i keep my Computer healthy and cutting down Cost, worry no more for today I'll be sharing with you ways to prevent your Computer from falling ill and running to PC doctors crying and seeking for help... Anyways you know what they say "Safety First".
So Let's proceed; Computers are expensive, and with all major purchases you probably want to protect your investment. Luckily, it is not difficult to keep your computer healthy and in good working order. Maintaining a computer involves three things: keeping it physically clean, protecting it from malwares, and backing up important files.

You can also from time to time do the Followings on your Pc;

1. Defragment your hard drive regularly Go to Start button and type ‘defragmenter’ in the
search box. Click Disk Defragmenter from the
results. Highlight the drive you want to
defragment (usually the C: drive), then click
Defragment disk. Depending on hard drive size
and the number and type of files stored on the Disk. I'll advice here to be patient when running the defragmenter because it'll take much time but its worth the wait and also you can operate the computer while defragmenter is running.

2. Repair hard disk errors
Windows 7’s Error Checking utility can help avoid hard disk problems that can slow down
performance and make it difficult to save or
access your files. It scans the hard drive for bad
sectors and for file system errors and then fixes
them: Close all open files. Click Start > open the Computer icon, Right-click on the hard disk you want to check, then click Properties from the pop-up menu. In the
Properties dialog box, click the Tools tab. Under
Error-checking, click the Check Now button.
To automatically repair files and folders
problems that the scan reveals, select
Automatically fix file system errors. For a
more thorough disk check, select Scan for and
attempt recovery of bad sectors. This will find
and repair physical errors with the hard disk
itself, and it can take much longer to complete "but not like that of Defragementer wink".
You can tick both options. Click Start. It’s best
not to use your computer for any other tasks while the scan is checking and operating.

3. Spring clean your web browser
Every time you visit a webpage, your web
browser stores or ‘caches’ it as a small file in
your Temporary Internet Files folder. Over time,
the volume of these files can build up.
Periodically clearing out your browser’s cache
will help it to work faster when loading pages
and reduce the amount of valuable disk space
these cached files take up.
In Internet Explorer 9 and 10, click Tools >
Safety > Delete browsing history. Tick the
checkbox next to Temporary Internet files.
You can also choose to delete your web
browsing history and cookies here. If you don’t
want to delete cookies and files associated with
websites in your favourites list, select the
Preserve Favorites website data checkbox It’s also a good idea to reduce the number of
installed add-ons. These small programs add
features to your web browser, such as extra
toolbars, but can also slow down your web
browsing. To view all installed add-ons in
Internet Explorer 9 or 10, click Tools > Manage
Add-ons. Then under Show, click All add-ons.
To turn off an add-on, click an item, and then
click Disable. Repeat for all the add-ons you
want to remove and then click Close.

4. Delete unuse applications that consume space, on your hard drive, Go to start button and click on control panel and try scanning your PC on a Regular bases because you never can tell when the Devil will send his agent 'Virus' through Flash drive inserted on your System.

5. Delete old emails;
Delete emails you no longer want to free up
valuable space on your hard disk. To delete
more than one message at a time, click on the
first message, hold down the Shift key and click
on the last. The message will be highlighted and
you can click the Delete button to remove them
all.
Deleted emails go into a Deleted Items or Trash
folder (Recycle bin). To completely delete emails, right click the folder and click Empty Deleted Items or Empty Trash.

6. Back up your files;
With so much personal information stored on
your computer, it’s important to take the time to
back up files. That way, if the hard drive fails or
your computer is stolen or damaged, you won’t
lose everything. It also means you can remove
older or less-used files to free up space on your
hard disk.
You can manually copy files to an external hard
disk, CD or DVD, or set Windows’ Backup and
Restore feature to make automatic back-ups to
an external hard drive. To do this, first connect
the drive to your computer. Click Start >
Control panel > System and Security >
Backup and Restore. Click Set up backup.
Select the location you want to back up to. Then
choose which file types you want to back up - for example, picture or music files. Click Next.
In the next window, click Change schedule to
alter how often or at what time of day Windows
backs up your chosen files. Your computer
needs to be turned off for automatic back up to
work. Click Save settings and run backup. The
backup process will start.

Still to come... But for now I hope this might be helpful to someone to save a computers life today...

Hi, thanks for posting, It appears to me that you are having issues with Windows User Password and it’s not accepting the password you are typing? Have you tried logging in without CAPSLOCK been on? And checked if you typed in the password correct, if you've tried all this process and still having issues I'd recommend you use password recovery disk to recover it..
You can get it in any computer store within abuja..

Thanks
