How To Make Your Relationship Lead To The Altar Nothing confuses the soul of a person like jumping from one relationship to another. The biggest problem a person can have is excessive relationship. There are certain principles for taking your relationship to the altar; make up your mind to stay away from romantic relationship until you are ready for marriage. You can meet the right person at the wrong time. There is a difference between friendship and relationship. Date only people who are ready for marriage. Every time is not right for a woman; don't allow student who are not ready for marriage block those that are ready. A lady that is in her first or final year can get married but a lady that is over aged may find it difficult getting attention. A student is not ready for marriage because he does not have the resources yet. Don’t allow a man that is not ready tie you down. The man ought to be ready before meeting you, long-time relationship rarely lead to marriage and if it does it get boring on time. Two years should be the maximum always ask your partner his plan for the future. Know yourself and know what you want. The major principle to choosing a life partner is self-discovery. A man that is a minister is different from a Christian chose a Christian everybody is fine in the face it depend on who you both are and your vision in life. Are you certain he will always be there for you? You are the one to choose from the many, so you have to have a desire. It is your desire that god will fulfill (psalm 34:4). If you are with someone and there is no attraction for three month then you should run for your life. Marriage is not only agape there must be connection from within. Some you spend time with and don’t realize time has gone; your personality should also attract him. You must have the same partner, he must love you back, don’t mortgage your happiness. Commit to the relationship with all your heart; have the kind of commitment married people have for their marriage except sex. Commit to see it to the altar, attraction brings you together but commitment keeps you together. Don’t threaten each other with break up, resolve differences; there is no relation without conflict. Courtship is rehearsal for marriage, learn to call each other and spend quality time together. Work is not an excuse when it comes to someone that you truly love, you will always find time and energy for the man you love. Manifest the fruit of the spirit in that relationship. If your relationship is all conflict then you are not practicing the bible. Let the other party win the augment every time, no need for nagging you are not competing you are complementing. If you treasure your relationship then you must be ready to work on your character; work on gentleness, kindness and self- control. Go for what your parent want or be ready to stick with your choice no matter the pressure. From day one find out what your parent want and that you are comfortable then be on a look out for a perfect fit. Don’t abandon years of relationship because of your parent. Parental consent is more important for the women than men. For a man you can stand on your decision they will eventually approve but for a woman if there are not comfortable with the man they won’t let go of you no matter how well you explain. But of you should answer this question; can you convince your parent? Work on a positive answer. Despair the fear of other parties; marry someone you trust completely not someone people like or trust for you, remember it will be you and him not you and them. Marry someone that will give freedom not someone that will turn you to a prisoner. It not advisable to marry a man you fear. There is no barrier in dating someone that is much older than you so far he can come down to your level and you can relate with him like you are age mate, love should cast out all fear in you. Militants of Boko Haram, have abducted 40 women following an attack on the Village of Wagga in Adamawa state, a move that has further dented the ceasefire deal said to have been struck with the Nigerian military. The women were abducted in an attack on Saturday, according to people familiar with Wagga. Enoch Mark, whose daughter and niece are among the 219 schoolgirls who have been held by Boko Haram since mid-April, after they were captured from Chibok Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno state was one of the people who spoke on the fresh abductions. Since Friday, when Nigeria’s most senior military officer, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh announced the ceasefire with the insurgents, Boko Haram has only observed it in the breach, by stepping up attacks on Nigerian communities. To further make Nigerians gobsmacked, is the revelation that Nigerian military officers on the frontline claimed that they were yet to receive operational order that they cease hostilities. “Honestly, we are yet to receive any operational order on the ceasefire. As such, we are battle-ready and would confront the terrorists if we see them,” a senior military officer told the AFP. Another senior intelligence official in the region also indicated to AFP that he had not received word about the purported ceasefire. On Sunday evening, troops from the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army fought dozens of suspected members of Boko Haram in the town of Damboa in Borno state, witnesses and security sources said. Earlier, a group of insurgents attacked the Borno town of Sabon Gida, said one military officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media. “The fight was tough and it seems the insurgents wanted to destroy everything in Sabon Gida. They came around 5:00 pm (1600 GMT) and by 6:00 pm, the fight was over,” added local trader Bilyaminu Aliyu. Boko Haram took over Damboa, which is about 90 kilometres (56 miles) southwest of the Borno state capital Maiduguri, in July, destroying much of the town and forcing thousands to flee. The group’s leader Abubakar Shekau claimed that they left voluntarily but the military said they recaptured it in early August. Residents have since begun returning. Elsewhere, locals said that dozens of suspected Boko Haram gunmen had stormed the town of Abadam, north of Maiduguri near Lake Chad, on Thursday, before the supposed ceasefire. A number of residents said at least 30 people were killed on Thursday and Friday — after the purported deal — while hundreds of others were forced to flee across the border into neighbouring Niger. “We all heard of the ceasefire over the radio but it seems the insurgents are not perturbed at all,” another resident, Mallam Babagana, said on Sunday. “To me, they (the militants) don’t even care about it because they increased their attacks from Friday, the very day the ceasefire was announced. By Saturday, they hoisted their flags.” On Friday, eight people were also killed on a road in the Borno state village of Shaffa near where a prominent Muslim leader, the Emir of Gwoza, was ambushed and killed by Boko Haram fighters in May. Babagana said local hunters on their way to recover the bodies of the eight fought battles with militants on Saturday in Azul, also in the Hawul local government area. “The unrelenting terrorists waylaid our members at around 9:00 am and serious fighting ensued,” said Babagana, who heads a local vigilante group. “We lost four of our members and we killed three terrorists.” |

All is now set for the first horn-free day in Lagos, southwest Nigeria,as the Lagos State Government is deploying 1,000 officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, and the Vehicles Inspection Service, VIS, to monitor compliance of motorists during the exercise. On Wednesday, which is the horn-free day, all motorists going through the routes in Lagos State are not expected to horn while driving their vehicles throughout the day. In the last two months, sensitisation has been ongoing to inform motorists about the need to observe the horn-free day in a bid to reduce noise pollution in the state. Already, the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, have been sensitised and they have in turn sensitised their members to abide by the horn-free day and ensure that they do not horn throughout the day. The union has printed banners and fliers which have been displayed in strategic places for their members to see as well as warn members not to horn tomorrow. Jingles and sensitisation in the media have been ongoing while advocacy visits as well as partnership with organisations. Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, said all is set for the first ever horn-free day in Nigeria. “What we want members of the public to do on their own part is to avoid the use of the horn, siren as much as they can. What we want them to do is to be tolerant, cautious, patient and be road user-friendly and obey traffic rules and regulations. By the time they do all these, they will have done all that we want them to do. “There will be 1,000 LASTMA and Vehicle Inspection Personnel on the roads monitoring the horn. They will have a paper and take record of honkings by every motorist while driving and that will give us the level of effect on whether it has reduced or not,” he said. The commissioner was optimistic that commercial vehicle owners would comply with the horn-free day as they had been carried along through sensitisation and other means. “Look, private vehicle owners have not brought out their banners to sensitise the public, danfo (mini bus) drivers have. Private vehicle owners are busy twitting us telling us about their readiness while the danfo drivers are busy communicating with their people on the need to comply with the directive. “All our drivers are safe. It is true that when they drive yellow buses they tend to behave otherwise, but believe me, we have done a lot to change their attitude. As soon as we get the uniform for them, people will see that they are nice people. It is just that sometimes when people get out to the street they get agitated, stressed-out and allow the condition to influence their behaviour. They drive for six to seven hours, they believe they need to be in a hurry to make money. By the time we fully normalise this sector much more will happen,” he said. Opeifa said the horn-free initiative would do a lot in changing the behaviour of drivers as they could learn how to drive without horn, saying “that is lesson number one apart from the fact that it will eradicate noise pollution due to indiscriminate honkings while driving.” According to Governor Babatunde Fashola, the exercise was a step towards sensitizing residents to the harmful effects of noise pollution, adding that the horn-free day was an initiative of his administration to persuade citizens that there was a better way to live than indulging in noise pollution which had been found to be harmful to their health. “It is for our own good, it is for our own health, it is for our own life. It is not because Governor Fashola said so. It is not because Lagos State Government said so. It is simply because it is good for us. Doctors have told us it is for our own ultimate good,” the governor said. He further stated that “what we see in a way that we now choose to live is that because we live in a very noisy environment, which we can really diminish, we tend to be very noisy ourselves. |
SIGNS OF IMMATURITY IN MARRIAGE FOR MEN" ( 1) Rejecting food when there's an issue: Oga husband, you gave your wife money for food and after it was prepared, you refused to eat because you dey vex. It's one of the greatest signs of immaturity, it's time to grow up! You should not even abandon your home for any reason, don't try giving the devil chance to come in. (2) Telling your wife severally that you are the head: May I let you know that even when your wife disobeys/disrespect you she still knows that you are the head. You need not shout or scream it daily. It's important for you to know when and how to be firm and put your feet down over issues, however don't become a nagging husband just to prove that you are the head. (3) Issuing threats: beating or verbally abusing your wife, issuing threats of divorce or bragging about marrying another wife does not make you a man. Your strength is in your ability to tame your tongue and control your fist. When she is acting her "childish woman" part, play the "matured man." (4) Reporting your wife to friends and family: When your wife offends you, correct and talk things through. You don't have to tell everyone about her mistakes, that will paint her black and sell her cheap such that you will not be able to redeem her back. (5) Keeping malice: is it not funny to know that some men keep malice? Some of them even nag, criticize, abuse and call their wives names in public. It may make you look like a "big boy" who's in control but you are not going to gain anything good from it, your home will only be a den of insults and confrontations. (6) Not helping with house chores: I must say here that it is the sole responsibility of a woman to tend and manage a home. However, it's not a bad thing if a man lends a helping hand when necessary. "Watching football with newspaper in your hand every evening, not caring how stressful the house chores are will only increase the pressure on your wife and if you truly care you'll help, just checking on her while busy could encourage and sooth her, this also makes you a good example to the kids especially the boys. Some men don't even say "thank You" to their wives after eating, all they do is compare her with other women. It's a shame that after having 3-4 kids some men cannot change a simple diaper or prepare food. "Lastly, every man should have a church where his family is watered and raised spiritually. This makes you accountable, it's immaturity and dangerous to be a sheep without a shepherd. As you learn and grow in the right fold, you'll be able to take the lead as the head of the home....." |

(1)Incompatibility Some couples, no matter how hard they try to get on the same page, just aren't compatible. Things usually start off OK because their differing opinions about everything make things interesting and actually create a lot of passion. But eventually, once they want to settle down and start making some real life, adult decisions, their opposite points of view start to cause conflict. Opposites attract to a certain extent, but when it comes to creating a life together, raising children and staying connected, incompatibility can cause more frustration than it's worth and will often be the main factor driving a couple apart. (2)Cheating There really isn't too much to say about this one. Some couples make it through a case of infidelity – while others simply can't. Cheating is often a deal breaker for many people since making a commitment means staying faithful, and if your partner can't do that, how can you trust them? The other issue is that cheating often happens when there's something already going wrong within the relationship, so by the time one person finds their way into someone else's bed, the relationship may already have been on a downhill trajectory. (5)Growing apart The bond that keeps every relationship going and moving in the right direction (forward) can end up frayed and tattered as time passes. What began as a strong connection that drew the two of you together doesn't always hold up under pressure. What felt like the ultimate connection between two people at the beginning can end up completely changing. When this happens, you're left staring at someone you've known and loved but who now feels like a stranger. There aren't many couples who can survive growing apart, and usually it just means the relationship has run its course and it's time to move on. (4)Faded chemistry It can be frighteningly easy to mistake lust for love. You want to be with someone (and in their bed) 24/7 so it must be love, right? Not so fast. Many relationships end simply because the initial chemistry wears off and there was no substance backing up the sex, so when one (or both) of you are bored with the physical aspect of what you had, there's nothing else keeping you connected. (5)Different paths This is probably the most frustrating cause of breaking up because even though you might want different things in life, that doesn't mean you don't still love each other. If you want kids but your guy doesn't or he wants to settle down in the suburbs and you want to travel the world – these are tough situations to deal with and when a compromise can't be reached, there's often no other choice but to part ways despite any lingering feelings you might have for each other. |
