What do you mean US music is about 4 billion? The value? The revenue? Recorded Music revenues alone in the US is about $8 billion, that's while not including live performance and endorsements. Get your facts right.

Japan is not really the best example here, try Jamaica. Per capita Jamaica is doing way better than the US in Music by influence.
