The Izala Society or Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (Society for the Removal of Bid'ah and Re-establishment of the Sunnah), also known as JIBWIS or by its Hausa nickname, Ƴan Izala is a Salafi organization originally established in Northern Nigeria in 1978 to fight what it sees as the Bid'ah and Shirk practiced by the Sufi orders. It is one of the largest Sunni societies in Nigeria, Chad, Ghana, Niger, and Cameroon.
The Yan Agaji is the voluntary and humanitarian arm of Jibwis. They provide first aid, crowd control, etc at Islamic events. They also engage in community service. They are basically like the Boys Scouts, Boys Brigade, Red Cross, etc.
The First Aid Group (F. A. G) is an arm of the Yan Agaji.
Yesterday a video of a man wearing F. A. G. uniform and leading children on a walk/jog went viral. The man in the video had changed the words of a popular moral song (moral songs are chanted or sung when jogging or marching) into an anti-Christian chant.
In the video the man is asking for AK guns and saying that they would go to Enugu and use the guns to kill "infidels" on a Sunday. He also said that they would go to Jos and use the guns to kill "infidels".
It was in a call and response format and the children were repeating what the man said.
The leadership of JIBWIS has called on the police and DSS to investigate the incident and apprehend the man. They said that the fact that the man was wearing a F. A. G. uniform does not mean that he represents the views of JIBWIS. They condemned the anti-Christian chants.
The man has now been arrested.

Nigeria Police Force @PoliceNG NIGERIA POLICE FORCE ARRESTS SUSPECT OVER VIRAL VIDEO ALLEGEDLY INCITING RELIGIOUS VIOLENCE
The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of Umar Ibrahim Gandi Maradun, a 22-year-old from Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, in connection with a viral video allegedly containing statements capable of inciting religious violence.
The video reportedly shows a young man dressed in the uniform of Jama’atu Izalatil Bidi’a Wa’ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), allegedly making statements capable of threatening public peace and peaceful coexistence.
Following the incident, the Zamfara State Police Command has taken the following steps:
* Activated its intelligence resources to identify those involved.
* Engaged the leadership of JIBWIS at the national and state levels. The organisation’s leadership reportedly disassociated the organisation from the alleged conduct and handed the suspect over to the police.
* Arrested the suspect, identified as Umar Ibrahim Gandi Maradun, for investigation.
* Commenced a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be charged before a competent court where sufficient evidence establishes the commission of an offence under applicable law.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterates its commitment to protecting all citizens, irrespective of religious affiliation, and upholding the constitutional right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. The Force will take appropriate lawful action against conduct capable of inciting religious hatred, provoking violence or threatening public peace.
Members of the public are urged to refrain from further sharing the video or circulating unverified information that could heighten religious tensions or threaten public order. The public is advised to remain calm and allow the police to conclude the investigation.
The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to safeguarding lives and property, maintaining public order and promoting peaceful coexistence across the country.

Tragedy struck in Borno State yesterday when gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram attacked a convoy of three first class monarchs and succeeded in killing the Emir of Gwoza, Alhaji Idrissa Timta, aged 72. Emir of Askira, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibn Muhammadu Askirama and the Emir of Uba, Alhaji Ali Ibn Ismaila Mamza narrowly escaped the ambush.
The insurgents, who reportedly stormed the highway with sophisticated weapons, accosted the monarchs on their way to Gombe State for the funeral prayers of the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Usman Shehu Abubakar.
Many people in their entourage, including policemen reportedly sustained injuries from bullet wounds, while others are still missing, including palace guards.
Late Idrissa Timta is the first Emir to be killed by Boko Haram, even though the group has made attempts on the lives of the Shehu of Borno, the Emir of Kano and that of Fika.
Secretary to Borno State government, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda confirmed the incident in a press statement yesterday.
“The Emir was killed around 9am today (yesterday) following a bloody attack by gunmen believed to be members of Boko Haram along Tashan Alade on the way to Biu town in Southern Borno State.
The statement said the late Emir of Gwoza had visited his counterpart, the Emir of Uba yesterday and passed the night there ahead of their planned trip today. The two Emirs were later joined by the Emir of Askira and the trio drove in the same vehicle with the intention of being joined by their counterpart in Biu. “Unfortunately, as they were driving in convoy to Biu, they were ambushed,” the report continued.
The statement said the late Emir was in the first class status following his recent elevation by Governor Kashim Shettima and was a great man who worked very hard to promote peace and progress in Gwoza.
Earlier reports indicated that only the Emir of Gwoza and that of Uba were travelling in one car while that of Askira was not even in the entourage. Other sources said the driver of the Emir of Askira, who was trailing behind, made a detour before getting to the point of the attack.
Sources close to the monarchs said when their vehicles came under heavy gunfire, the driver had to stop and the Emirs attempted to flee. “The emir of Askira and that of Uba took to the bushes but that of Gwoza, who was elderly, could not run,” one of the sources said.
A source from Uba Emirate Council said the corpse of the Emir of Gwoza was later found in the bushes, riddled with bullet wounds. According to him, “Two policemen in the convoy were also shot dead, while most of the vehicles in the convoy were set ablaze by the attackers.”
Government House sources say Governor Kashim Shettima has flown back from Abuja, with Senator Ali Ndume (Borno South) in company of other top government functionaries for the funeral prayers which may likely hold today, Saturday.
Late Idrissa Timta, said to be one of the oldest emirs in Borno, and northern Nigeria left behind wives and children.
In April, the late Emir of Gwoza issued a press statement in which he lamented the spate of the attacks on his people and called on the Federal Government to take serious action. A portion of it reads:
“It is unfortunate that our people have witnessed increased attacks with mass killings by the insurgents in the last four months. The attacks have crippled both social and economic lives in the entire area. It is sad to say that my people have been blocked from going to the market by the insurgents, who kill at will. Once upon a time, around 2011-2014, some people would often post that Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Babangida, the Sultan of Sokoto, emirs and northern elders created the Boko Haram insurgency.
I often wrote that this was nonsense and that Boko Haram would kill all those people if they had the chance.
Indeed Boko Haram attacked many emirs and killed some of them. I posted their stories on this thread (I should probably create a list). The emirs of Gwoza, Potiskum, Kano, etc were all attacked by Boko Haram.
Unfortunately the list has increased.
Woro is a community in Kwara State. A Boko Haram group was trying to gain inroads into the community. The Emir of Woro warned his people about the group and reported the group to the authorities.
Boko Haram attacked the community in the past few days. They said it was because the Emir reported them. They killed the Emir's two wives and kidnapped him. They also killed many members of the community. They would have killed more but they fled when they saw a military aircraft approaching.

Gunmen have reportedly killed prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Yahaya Masusuka, in a suspected targeted attack at his residence in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State.
Sources said the cleric was killed by armed men who attacked his home in the town late Monday night.
The circumstances surrounding the killing, including the identities of the assailants and their motive, were not immediately clear as of the time of filing this report.
Authorities had yet to issue an official statement confirming the killing or providing details of any security response.

Ansaru, the Boko Haram faction affiliated to Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the killing of Malam Yahaya Masussuka, accusing him of being an infidel.
The group confirmed its responsibility for the killing in an audio message released today. In the recording, Ansaru said it carried out the attack at around 8:30 p.m. The speaker stated that the attack took place on Tuesday, but this may have been a mistake, as the incident occurred on Monday.
Ansaru accused Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka of opposing Islam but did not specify any particular offence he had committed. However, it condemned Masussuka's stance of promoting dialogue between followers of different religions and peaceful coexistence and indicated that this is why they attacked him.
Ansaru broke away from Boko Haram in 2012 following disagreements with the leadership of Abubakar Shekau. Since then, the group has operated mainly in northwestern Nigeria, including Zamfara, Kaduna and Niger states.
It is not surprising that Ansaru has targeted Masussuka, given that Malam Masussuka was preparing to organise a major peace conference. This may have been one of the reasons he became a target, considering the group’s opposition to peace and peaceful coexistence among followers of different religions. Source
