Stars everywhere!

Bernard Diomede, Lillian Laslandes, Taribo West, Mousa Saib, Lionel Charbonnier for Auxerre.

Everybody for Ajax (this was when Ajax was the unofficial team of Nigeria).

The NTA showed one Champions League match live and one delayed (the second match after the Network News).

Goal by Tijani Babangida for Ajax. Incredible assist by Taribo West for Auxerre.

I was in a room with almost 100 Ajax supporters. Of course everybody was confident at first, but it quickly turned to fear and anxiety.

Grasshoppers' basic plan was for Kubilay Turkyılmaz to work his trickery and win free kicks and for Murat Yakin to unleash rockets at Edwin Van Dar Saar and man did Yakin have rockets!

This group was a crazy group and it featured another crazy match that I call the match of children. Ajax and Auxerre had very young teams and their game became a very hot tempered affair. They wanted to fight virtually every minute of that match.

This (in the clip below) is the rocket that Van Dar Saar failed to stop.

Archie McPherson screamed, "FinIDI GEORGE OH!"

My sister drew my attention to Samuel Ossei Kufour's open mouth.
