Firstly, in America, it is inevitable that they move left slightly as a society to reflect what their European forebears and Canadian neighbours are enjoying. Western countries do compare themselves with each other.

Secondly, those who carry more than their fair share of the tax burden (College-Educated and the Wealthy) are majority democrat. Their voting behaviour suggests they don't agree. Obama cut their taxes more heavily than Trump who just gave them a miniscule cut in order to force through his Corporation tax cut.

When one becomes fixated with racism, he subconsciously starts to hate the country and people he is living amongst, and that person can never do well in life. One thing my father told me as a teenager that stuck with me, he said "he who rejects the land, the land will reject him, and he who curses the land, the land will curse him", and he used this as a parable to explain the economic failure of Jamaicans/West Indians/Akatas as if to say their experiences with slavery/injustice have got them obsessed with injustices and racism to the point they are not at peace with the land and cannot aspire to prosper within it. At some point through my time in London, I found myself imbibing some of these feelings within these communities and had to make a conscious decision to ignore these feelings and start making more connections and friendships outside of our community with people who are economically empowered.

Stop making noise. The below are the points I made as to why Covid is not hitting Africa as hard

(1.) Young population

(2.) Less people with underlying conditions due to the fact those with underlying conditions are more likely to have already died from it (citing example of kidney failure which is a manageable underlying condition abroad, unlike Nigeria where you die unless people raise funds to send you abroad)

(3.) Lack of official statistics and a coordinated Health Care reporting system leading to underreporting

(4.) Lower obesity rate

(5.) Good sunshine which inhibits spread of the virus on surfaces.


You saw all these and proceeded to get defensive and start making noise about how healthcare is good in Nigeria in denial of the facts. Well you can keep deceiving yourself that where you made your bed to lie is most comfortable. If your healthcare is so good, why not extend the same efficiency to mortality rates from malaria, polio, typhoid, HIV, infant mortality and the rest, just empty chest beating.

As far as assets, don't worry about that. I will retire your whole community comfortably in Umudike if I stopped today. You were making noise about travelling, I showed you your paltry travels ain't worth much, you start yapping about assets.

This is to keep pressure off the NHS while implementing his herd immunity policy i.e you can only go hospital if you need ventilation. When I saw China building two 1,000 bed hospitals in one week, I just knew UK would not be able to match the speed needed to cope with the virus. Africans with underlying conditions have already died from the condition. West is carrying many people that should have died since if not for fantastic healthcare.

I have lost 3 friends to kidney failure in PH in the last 7 years, all in their 30s. Wetin dey cause high level of kidney failure in young men in Nigeria? I don't know any young person abroad with kidney failure, and the ones who have such in the West are still alive with transplants, dialysis and such. Nigerians die like fowl from common diabetic shock.

Besides, Nigerian deaths from Covid are severely underreported, often falling under the very Nigerian killer called brief illness. On the other hand, Nigeria has an overwhelmingly young population who are less susceptible to Covid, lower rates of obesity, and hot weather and sunlight which kills the virus quickly on surfaces.
