Hi everyone… @dduchess90 and everyone else willing to help How long does it normally take to have one’s passport returned to VAC after an application denial? For proper context, the denial decision was made on August 3rd, but the email of their decision wasn’t sent till August 17th. We’re trying to reapply for my daughter as a dependent but her passport is what’s stopping us as it’d be needed for her biometrics at TLS… the tracker shows it’s still at DMC I as type… |
I was wondering same thing too ooo… (if the ECO didn’t give the application a good/proper review) or maybe there was some sort of glitch at the point of self-upload which rendered the documents inaccessible by the ECO at the point of review… Again, who knows?! Also, thanks for your thoughts as to making arrangements for my daughter school/after school care and aswell attaching the evidence to the new application we’re bout to submit… giselle237: |
Hi Giselle237… thanks for jumping in on this aswell… I had to take down the earlier uploaded documents as @dduchess90 had shared her thoughts on ‘em.. but yeah, I’d upload ‘em here again for your perusal… One of ‘em is a page from my divorce papers stating I’ve got sole custody of my daughter but also granting my EX rights of access… The second document would be the Sole custody letter I went on to getting years after my divorce…(had to go get this when myself and my daughter needed to renew our US visas since we weren’t gonna go with her father right after our divorce)… I’m open to suggestions on what documents are acceptable by UKVI as far as proving Sole custody of my daughter if the attached one wouldn’t suffice… Also, could you please elaborate on the “making of school arrangements” thingy you suggested? I think I might know what mean but I don’t want to assume so… giselle237: |
Thank you @dduchess90 for taking out time to respond to my questions…. May God continue to bless you… So the crazy thing is I’d aswell initially gotten a letter of consent from my EX but the School/Visa agent in-charge of our Visa applications told me the letter of consent from my EX wasn’t needed since I’d already provided my divorce papers and the letter of sole custody. Who would have thought? Also, seeing that an administrative review/ appeal might take as long as 6 months to get a decision made, re-applying all over again would seem better for the purpose of timeliness… My only question now is could excluding the “letter of sole custody” and replacing it with the “consent letter” from my Ex adversely affect the intended re-application? Just incase the above question wasn’t clear enough, should the consent letter from my EX be an addition to the earlier submitted “divorce papers” and “letter of sole custody” or should I exclude the “letter of sole custody” and just attach my divorce papers with the “consent letter” from my EX this time around for the re-application? The attached document is the consent letter from EX… duchess90: |
@dduchess90 Hello @ dduchess90 thanks for the swift response So I’ve uploaded the letter of sole custody and a page in my divorce/settlement papers that gives me full custody… I proceeded to getting the sole custody of my daughter years after our divorce got finalized even though a page of our divorce/settlement papers states that I’ve got full custody of our child and my Ex would have access to her aswell based on what we both agree on… List of other documents attached to her visa application; * Birth certificate * Her School fees receipts with my name as the payee * Consent letter for POF (since the account is in my name) * Bank statement that I used for mine aswell * My CAS statement * TB test result * Home office consent letter dduchess90: |
@ duchess90 and other good folks in the house please help with your thoughts and ideas For proper context… I’m a divorced mother and I’m the main applicant, I submitted my divorce papers and letter of sole custody coupled with other documents for my daughter’s application… My daughter’s application as a dependent got denied with an option of ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW…meaning I could file for an appeal… Reasons for Decision Your application has been refused for the following reason(s): You have applied as a dependent of a person holding a Student Route visa in the UK however, it is noted that the visa application of your Father does not hold valid leave to enter the UK. As such you do not meet the requirement as set out in paragraph 34.2 of Appendix ST of the Immigration Rules: ST 34.2. The applicant’s parents must each be either applying at the same time as the applicant or have permission to be in the UK (other than as a visitor) unless: (a) the parent with permission as a Student or as the partner of a Student is the sole surviving parent; or (b) the parent with permission as a Student or as the partner of a Student has sole responsibility for the child’s upbringing; or (c) the decision maker is satisfied that there are serious and compelling reasons to grant the child entry clearance or permission to stay with the parent who has permission as a Student or as the partner of a Student. In considering your application, I am mindful of your age and also aware that the UKVI has a duty of care for child welfare under Section 55 of the Borders Citizenship and Immigration Act. It is therefore imperative that I be fully satisfied with the travel, reception and care arrangements for you in the UK. I also need to be fully satisfied that your welfare needs are still met once you arrive in the UK. As your Father's has not applied I am not satisfied that there are any compelling or compassionate circumstances and that you meet the above and therefore refuse your application under ST 34.2. |
Nothing yet ooo…. 5th paid call again this morning…. Managed to get an escalation put in this morning from the Rep I spoke to… It’s just kinda crazy how they claim a decision had already been made on August 3rd and the passport is still being held till date… I keep checking for NSFs or any sorta correspondence from UKVI each hour but nothing…, Tip101: |
iamhistreasure:Same situation here… Got my visa approved since August 2nd… picked it up aswell at TLS… Made my 4th paid call today… the rep I spoke was just being generic with her response… 15 business days today btw… no NSF, no Refusal mail… Biometrics done together on July 25th at TLS Ikeja… At this point, I think I’d just give up on calling ‘em..not gonna let ‘em drive me nuts… My daughter is just 13 years old hence me wanting us to fly out together… |
macsanzy:In same situation Pal.. Made my third paid call today as regards my daughter’s application… the 3rd UKVI rep also confirmed that a decision had been made since August 3rd and as such she proceeded to escalating it this morning… (it’d be 15 working days tomorrow btw) |
zieraw2005:Have they gotten their VISAs yet? My daughter’s application is still at DMC… made 2 paid calls already… SMDH!!! |
Hi good good… So me being the main applicant got my visa approved on August 2nd, however, my daughter’s application is still stuck on Received by DMC… and after two paid calls, I’m being told a decision has been made on her case since August 3rd..,{No NSF… No refusal notice}… I wanted to find out if this is normal and if there’re other folks out in similar situation… For proper context… we both did our biometrics same day on July 25th Standard processing… the first UKVI Rep I spoke to 3 days ago only told me a decision had already been made without specifying when… then, the second UKVI Rep that I spoke to today told the exact date the decision on her case was made…(August 3rd)… it’d be 15 working days come Monday…. I’d appreciate your thoughts on this my good folks…. |

Nathan89:Update Good Folks on here!!! BRP EMAIL dropped a few minutes ago… TLS had closed before I could get their notification to come pickup my passport… but would sure be there on Monday morning to pick it up… Hopefully, my daughter’s case would aswell be adjudicated soon enough… Thanks once again to everyone on here.. y’all been really helpful in ways I can’t possibly describe… |
zieraw2005:Yes, I am the main applicant… |
Hi house.. Just checked my tracker now to find out my application has been transferred to VAC… Did my biometrics on July 25th (standard) Checked my email’s primary and spam folders for NSF, decision outcome or BRP mail but nothing… My daughter’s application is still at “received by DMC” though…. We both went in for biometrics same day I must say… Anyone else here in similar situation? |
Please has anyone who had their biometrics done on July 25th gotten as far as getting a decision made on their case? Mine is currently at “received by/at DMC” Not to sound too hasty… simply trying to get a glimpse of similar timelines as mine…. |
