IMO, intending students should declare any previous visa refusals during the admission application or CAS issuance stage. I know of two individuals whose UK student visa applications were rejected on grounds unrelated to previous visa denials. Despite this, their universities withheld their deposits, citing non-disclosure of prior visa refusals. For context, these students were denied UK student visas because they failed to convince the Entry Clearance Officer (ECO) of their genuine intent to study during their virtual interviews. Their refusal letters clearly outlined this reason, yet the universities continued to justify keeping their deposits based on the non-disclosure of previous visa refusals. So if you decide to hold-out on that info from the universities , just know that If your visa application is denied for any reason (even unrelated to past refusals) these universities could potentially use non-disclosure as a pretext to retain your deposit. P.S- These past visa refusals weren’t even for the UK but for other countries. With just a passport number, universities can run an immigration check and viola! Ur money e haf go!!!!! There are schools that would still issue you admission offers/ CAS even if you declare past visa refusals. KingDeity: |

Thanks again for your swift reply Was a PreCAS interview listed as a condition on your offer? Or it something that applies to everyone looking to study at their university? t2sco: |

For those that I’ve had their preCAS interview or scheduled to have their preCAS interview with Ulster university Birmingham, was it listed as one of the conditions on the offer or it applies to everyone looking to study there? |
Thanks for the reply! Follow up question please, did you use flywire for CAS deposit and how much were you asked to pay? Also, could you speak on the preCAS interview? What was it like in terms of questions and duration? t2sco: |
I’ve been reading comments on here for months now and I’ve since wondered if OYOTUNJI runs the US embassies here in Nigeria off of how he dismisses contrary opinions… OmoX1million! My OYOTUNJI…Your PAPA!… As in your REAL PAPA!! 😂😂😂 |

Hello House, Asides Ulster university and York St John university, are there other schools with low tuition for Jan 2025 intake period? For proper context, both schools are right around £13000 for MSc International Business. Just need more schools charging that low for same program. Thanks! |
Hello house, Has anyone here during their MSc application to Ulster university or any other universities been asked to “Provide supporting documents to address name discrepancy on WAEC certificate”? For proper context, my WAEC certificate has my last name fully written however my first & middle names were abbreviated. Something like this {Adebiri J K}. I lost as to how to navigate this, if it’s something a simple affidavit could fix or might have to get it fixed at WAEC. Kindly advise house! Thanks in anticipation of your inputs! |
Lagos or Abuja? And when did you make your visa interview payment please? CLASSYTOPPYCREA: |
Hello house, Has anyone trying to schedule their visa appointment at the Lagos embassy gotten past “pending pre-approval “ stage yet? Mine has been pending pre-approval since August 30th |

Good afternoon House, I applied for a student visa on the 12th of January, 2024. 13th of January, 2024 my application was received by the DMC department, and since then it has been stalled. I waited for 21days to get a decision as that was their standard decision time-frame. I got no response, I had to send a paid mail on the 4th of February, 2024. Was eventually scheduled for an interview of the 11th of February, 2024 which I did. And up till now I still haven't heard a word from them. Sent another paid mail on the 13th of February and a paid call on the 20th of February with no tangible reason for the delay. Meanwhile, my school in her benevolence has extended my resumption date from 22nd of January to 16th of February and then to 26th of February,2024 which is like a few days from now. Please I would like to know what could be potential cause of this delay and anything I can do to help speed-up this process or better still what to expect. I'm honestly getting frustrated 😞 @duchess & other gurus in the house please assist with your thoughts and opinions |
Good day house Please I’m not sure how to process this… the timeline seems super fast… So my daughter went for her biometrics appointment on Monday at TLS Ikeja (standard processing) I woke up this morning to TLS’ passport collection notification… No decision mail from UKVI just yet… This was her second application btw… |
OMG!!! I had just started considering one last night… first stop at Doha and the second one at Brussels… Good thing you called this out… @dduchess90 and anyone else who might know… if my course start date is September 7th and teaching start date is September 18th, when should be the latest time/date for me to arrive in UK? I’m simply asking cuz flight fares ain’t smiling atm… Nanorest: |

When was the last time anyone attempted a walk-in at TLS Ikeja? Has it been completed stopped or just on selected days? I was there yesterday being Saturday and was told I couldn’t do a walk-in… |
Was at TLS ikeja a couple minutes ago and they ain’t letting walk-ins happen for now… When did they halt it? |
@dduchess90 and every other good folk on here… Please after a visa refusal, is the IHS fee auto-refunded or one would have to request for it to be refunded? |
Good Morning House @dduchess90 and specifically Applicants with dependents that got their visas approved pls help with my questions What’s the best way to answer this question for a child dependent while filling the visa form 1-“Do you know where you will be staying in the UK”? 2-“Address details”? I’m asking because is it logical to use the main applicant’s university hostel address for child dependent? |
That was why my daughter got refused aswell… If I may ask too… are you still with your son’s father legally or divorced? If divorced , what documents did you submit when you applied for a dependent child visa for him? And btw, I got her visa refusal email on the 17th of August and her passport is still at DMC last I checked Adeyemi700: |
Not sure how mine would play out as I didn’t pay for DHL services… I’ve been checking the tracker all day hoping to see it change to “application transferred to VAC” Any suggestion(s) please? Ekababbe: |
Did you wait to get TLS’ passport collection email before heading out to their office? Like did the tracker indicate that it was at VAC before heading over to their office? Ekababbe: |
