The normal processing of fresh driver's license which takes at least 2 months before biometric capturing is still ongoing for those not in a hurry.

Not all. If it's for expired vehicle's documents, it's important that its renewed in Lagos since most other states are not on auto reg. This means that if your document is renewed in a state that's not on auto reg, the renewal won't reflect on the system.

For driver's license, it can equally be here and your temporary license in form of documents sent to you pending when the permanent license comes out as biometric capturing is not compulsory here being renewal.

i bought a used car last year and the number plate carried the previous owner's name (This i confirmed during change of ownership at their office since vehicle license and certificate is done online by them with their database)

after a year, time for renewal, i took a closer look at the chassis number/VIN and noticed a number was ommited. I called their attention to it before the renewal was done. he only asked me for the number plate.. all details were shown to me on the system, which carries my name now instead of the previous user.

my point is. Change/Certificate of ownership is very important and done legally in the right way as just inputting your plate number on their system will show exactly who it belongs to and the VIN of the car the Plate is attached to

This happened because proper processing of change of ownership was not done.
This is why we advise our clients to be patient enough to follow the right procedure when processing their documents.
If the right procedure is not followed while processing a change of ownership, a no in the chassis no/Vin no could either be altered.
Most times, this happens due to impatience from the client or greediness on the side of the agents being that they don't want to loose jobs.

I need to know if you've already bought the vehicle. If not, the following are the documents you are to be given by the seller :
Allocation of registration no,
Proof of ownership certificate,
Vehicle license,
Receipt of purchase and
Authorization latter addressed to mvaa office for change of ownership.
Pleasenote that the vehicle license should be valid because if not, you will have to pay for the areas on it having been used by the formal owner.

MERGING OF IDENTIFICATION

Good day good people of nairaland.
I wish to bring to your notice that we have some unknown enemies here amongst us.

Firstly, i am Achalugonata who works with Motor Vehicle Administration Agency(MVAA) in Lagos.

I have been a member of naira land since year 2012. I believe in one way or another, I've been able to help few members here with guidlines with regards to their vehicle's documentation.
Ranging from:

New/Tokumbo Vehicle Registration,

Change of Ownership in the case of Nigerian used vehicle,

renewal of expired vehicle documents (vehicle license, road worthiness and insurance ),

Processing of National /International driver's license,
Tinted glass permit, name it.

I had series of treads here on naira land only to discover that my accounts has been deactivated by one i can refer to as an enemy of progress specifically on the 21st of February, 2019.

I guess this fellow in question is not happy with my progress here on nairaland .

My question is if the sky is so large to accommodate all the birds flying without collision, why won't the world as large as it is, accommodate all of us without being envious of one another?
