backtovillage:As you all know, The President of the Russian Federation has admonished Zelensky to cease hostilities against the people of Southern Ukraine. The President of the Russian Federation has invited representative(s) of the Ukrainian state for negotiations. Russia is ready for this, as they have said more than once. But the choice of the people in Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson will not be discussed. Under any Russian president, attack against these territories is an attack on Russia, Zelensky and the West will be responsible for the consequences of their actions should they choose to continue attacking these territories. Due to the nature of the coup that brought Zelensky to power, Russia cannot continue to recognize Zelensky as the legitimate head of Ukraine. There are questions about the legitimacy of Zelensky's presidency. Undoubtedly, Zelensky's position as the commander of an armed militant/terrorist group in Ukraine cannot be ignored. Russia may consider granting amnesty under reasonable conditions. |

Truthseeking Good. Trust me. This is much better than simply leaving those troops there to be encircled. Krasni Liman will be retaken one day, hopefully by then, I will be on the frontline ready to do my duty for the motherland. As an American I can't stand by and watch as my government funds and supports Nazis. Soon I will join Russia. |
Black_Dragon russia is fighting smart. unlike ukraine. who are slowly falling into russia's trap. |
TANK One has to lure them in to use artillery effectively. |
No Name Proves that Ukrainian army disregards civilians and the Russian army knows how to fight these horrible individuals |
No Name Russia did not retreat it's a strategic plan to avoid civilians getting into the crossfire or allowing Ukrainians to use them as human shields , in addition they already belong to Russia so this would be considered an attack against Russian Territory which would allow Russia to implement the attack plans after the invading force entered Russian territory! |
Larry Hansson Smart move by the Russian forces to take a tactical withdrawal. Ukraine suffered heavy casualties and lost a lot of weaponry. Russian air force, rockets, artillery, and drones will continue to reduce Ukraine's fighting capabilities. |
JacquesDeLamoya Tactical move nuthin wrong about it...of course Western media will present it as a Russian retreat. |
JacquesDeLamoya I'm wondering with what manpower ukra is going to defend kharkov and Odessa when they sacrifice 200 souls for every inch ?? Still, it's madness and sad |
Conrod:Who-Benefits Tactical retreat is nothing out of the ordinary or new in battlefield. Good thing is that we've been told the truth. There are battles won & lost all the times. Whats important is, winning the war with minimum cost & causalities. |
Alex-Glaz Now they are in Russian territory and fair game. Let's get the Ukies pile up to be exterminated at the right time with minimum civilian casualty. |
SlavaUkraini:Zorro The Fox For those of you who think that this is some turning point, it isn't. The Russians have not annexed these regions to allow Ukrainians to take them back. However, the Russians do not risk their soldiers' lives in futile attempts to please journalists. Or you. You will have plenty of time to untwist your knickers. |
Frank Lemarin Ukrainian spend men like ammunitions , Russia save their own. This is not a video game. |
Ironore068 I have a feeling that there is an ulterior motive to this pullback. |
GaryH The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting. "Art of War" Sun Tzu After Russia formally integrates these regions into the Russian Federation, they'll be trapped inside Russia, encircled and isolated from Ukraine, that's a demilitarization tactic. |
Onlinebills02 Ok, so let's stop and think for a while: When do you withdraw from a position when you have a larger military? Is it because you are scared, or because you want your enemy to think you are running and make them chase after you? And why would you make your enemy chase after you, if it's not to have these forces unable to go anywhere else? Remember, these territories are now 'Russia'. And having ukro military entering Russian territory, opens up a reason for Russia to do more against the ukros |
James "If they wanted to hold on to lyman believe me the russians would have done that - a strategic retreat not to put your men in harms way is a good tactic especially in instances where there is danger of being overran...saw what happened in kherson where the counter offensive was nothing but a disaster and i hear the frontline is full of nazi corpses with flies buzzing all over 'em." |
Reactions include: AntiWesternHawk "The one thing that I've noticed about Russians is their indomitable spirit. Just when everyone thought Chechnya was lost, Russia proved everyone wrong by pounding the hell outta Chechnya in the second Chechen war. In the WW II, Russians retreated in the face of massive German army, only for the world to realize the retreat was tactical and a ploy to slaughter German troops. Let's hope this is one of those battle tactics, straight outta Russian battle playbook, and not an actual retreat in the face of UkroNazis advancing with ferocity." |
The troops had to leave the city of Krasny Liman due to the threat of encirclement, Moscow has confirmed Russian troops and the Donbass militias have had to withdraw from their defensive positions in the city of Krasny Liman as Ukrainian forces mounted a large-scale offensive targeting the area, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed in a statement on Saturday. Earlier, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, called the situation in the city “alarming,” saying the city had been “half-encircled” by Ukrainian troops. “Due to the emerging threat of encirclement, the allied troops have withdrawn from the settlement of Krasny Liman and deployed to more advantageous positions,” the ministry said in a statement. The Ukrainian forces lost more than 200 soldiers as well as five tanks and five infantry fighting vehicles during the attack on Krasny Liman, the military added. Despite the losses, the Ukrainian command sent in reserves and reached “considerable superiority in men and material” in the direction of the attack, the Russian ministry said. A representative of the Ukrainian operational command ‘East’, Sergey Cherevaty, told the Ukrainian media that the Russian forces in Krasny Liman had been “encircled.” He also said that the Ukrainian troops had seized five settlements near Krasny Liman, including the town of Yampol, which is located to the southeast. Pushilin earlier said that the DPR had lost full control of the towns of Yampol and Drobyshevo, while the Ukrainians were shelling the supply route between Krasny Liman and a Russian major logistics base in the town of Svatovo. Krasny Liman, renamed Lyman by Ukraine in 2016, was seized by Russian and Donbass forces in late May. The city is located on the DPR’s northern edge not far from Ukraine’s Kharkov Region, the eastern part of which was captured by Ukrainian troops in early September. The news came a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed treaties on the accession of the DPR and neighboring Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) into Russia. The president also signed agreements on the accession of the Russian-held Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, which declared independence from Ukraine. The four territories overwhelmingly voted in favor of joining Russia in referendums held between September 23 and 27. Ukraine and the Western nations refused to recognize the results of the referendums. The developments also come after Putin announced a partial mobilization aimed at calling some 300,000 reservists to arms, most of whom are yet to be sent to the regions.
