Russia is ready for this, as they have said more than once. But the choice of the people in Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson will not be discussed.
Under any Russian president, attack against these territories is an attack on Russia, Zelensky and the West will be responsible for the consequences of their actions should they choose to continue attacking these territories.
Due to the nature of the coup that brought Zelensky to power, Russia cannot continue to recognize Zelensky as the legitimate head of Ukraine.
There are questions about the legitimacy of Zelensky's presidency.
Undoubtedly, Zelensky's position as the commander of an armed militant/terrorist group in Ukraine cannot be ignored. Russia may consider granting amnesty under reasonable conditions.

Good. Trust me. This is much better than simply leaving those troops there to be encircled. Krasni Liman will be retaken one day, hopefully by then, I will be on the frontline ready to do my duty for the motherland. Russia did not retreat it's a strategic plan to avoid civilians getting into the crossfire or allowing Ukrainians to use them as human shields , in addition they already belong to Russia so this would be considered an attack against Russian Territory which would allow Russia to implement the attack plans after the invading force entered Russian territory!

Smart move by the Russian forces to take a tactical withdrawal. Ukraine suffered heavy casualties and lost a lot of weaponry. Russian air force, rockets, artillery, and drones will continue to reduce Ukraine's fighting capabilities.

After Russia formally integrates these regions into the Russian Federation, they'll be trapped inside Russia, encircled and isolated from Ukraine, that's a demilitarization tactic.

Ok, so let's stop and think for a while: When do you withdraw from a position when you have a larger military? Is it because you are scared, or because you want your enemy to think you are running and make them chase after you? And why would you make your enemy chase after you, if it's not to have these forces unable to go anywhere else?

Remember, these territories are now 'Russia'. And having ukro military entering Russian territory, opens up a reason for Russia to do more against the ukros

The troops had to leave the city of Krasny Liman due to the threat of encirclement, Moscow has confirmed
Russian troops and the Donbass militias have had to withdraw from their defensive positions in the city of Krasny Liman as Ukrainian forces mounted a large-scale offensive targeting the area, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed in a statement on Saturday.

Earlier, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, called the situation in the city “alarming,” saying the city had been “half-encircled” by Ukrainian troops.
“Due to the emerging threat of encirclement, the allied troops have withdrawn from the settlement of Krasny Liman and deployed to more advantageous positions,” the ministry said in a statement. The Ukrainian forces lost more than 200 soldiers as well as five tanks and five infantry fighting vehicles during the attack on Krasny Liman, the military added.

Despite the losses, the Ukrainian command sent in reserves and reached “considerable superiority in men and material” in the direction of the attack, the Russian ministry said.
A representative of the Ukrainian operational command ‘East’, Sergey Cherevaty, told the Ukrainian media that the Russian forces in Krasny Liman had been “encircled.” He also said that the Ukrainian troops had seized five settlements near Krasny Liman, including the town of Yampol, which is located to the southeast.
Pushilin earlier said that the DPR had lost full control of the towns of Yampol and Drobyshevo, while the Ukrainians were shelling the supply route between Krasny Liman and a Russian major logistics base in the town of Svatovo.

Krasny Liman, renamed Lyman by Ukraine in 2016, was seized by Russian and Donbass forces in late May. The city is located on the DPR’s northern edge not far from Ukraine’s Kharkov Region, the eastern part of which was captured by Ukrainian troops in early September.

The news came a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed treaties on the accession of the DPR and neighboring Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) into Russia. The president also signed agreements on the accession of the Russian-held Kherson and
Zaporozhye Regions, which declared independence from Ukraine. The four territories overwhelmingly voted in favor of joining Russia in referendums held between September 23 and 27.

Ukraine and the Western nations refused to recognize the results of the referendums.

The developments also come after Putin announced a partial mobilization aimed at calling some 300,000 reservists to arms, most of whom are yet to be sent to the regions.
