I was walking through the house yesterday and noticed that a couple of light bulbs were out. These are the low-energy alternatives to tungsten light bulb. They were supposed to last for 7 years but they had barely lasted for 1 year; and they are much more expensive than the tungsten light bulbs. The company that makes them has already made a name in the market so it's easy for them to sell anything successfully. It's when you try to launch a product of your own that you have great respect for founders of successful companies that once upon a time launched a product or service that propelled their company into the limelight. No matter how good a product or service is, it's usually the marketing that makes or breaks it at the initial stage. So after spending the time to produce what is a very good product in the Nauna website, we find ourselves at the beginning of another road - the marketing road. Like any company that has been down this road before, we'll be trying out different strategies to see what works for the market that we are targeting. http://www.nauna.com/?module=Blog&action=BlogView&blogid=5 |
Hello Fellow Webmasters: I work for Nauna and we launched Nauna 2.0 on October 1, 2011. Nauna is a global African community for creativity, entrepreneurship and community development located at http://www.nauna.com. It is a location-based community website and enables website members to quickly know what is happening in the community around them. It is not a clone of any website that currently exists. We developed it from ground up and gave it a uniqueness that serves the diverse nature and needs of African countries. A major benefit is that Nauna website members are able to exert their influence and hopefully positive change in their immediate communities (village/town/city, state/province and even country). Collectively, like minded people can carry out major positive transformation of their communities. My aim in interacting with the webmasters in the Nairaland form is to share what we are doing from a technical as well as business and decision making perspective. There is a blog that we maintain on the website that provides a diary of what we have been doing since the launch. I'll be posting those blogs here for questions and discussions. Together, we can learn from each other. Thank you |
