SA-German Centre for Development Research offers two years DAAD merit Scholarship for Masters in Public Administration (MPA) in Cape Town in 2021. South African- SA-German Centre for Development Research is aim at to prepare the next generation of leaders to meet the typical economic, social and political challenges arising from the development process.

The School of Government's Masters in Public Administration (MPA) offers students a balanced and relevant mix of practical and theoretical skills. It is also a multi-disciplinary degree, drawing widely on the skills and experience of the School's cognate departments. In the first year of the programme students are provided with a solid foundation in the theory and practice of governance, public policy and public administration, as well as in a range of analytical, practical, communication and research skills. In the second year, they will work under supervision to produce a mini-thesis, and attend and make presentations at research seminars.

Successfull students of the Masters programme will be awarded the degree Master in Public Administration of UWC. The President has approved the Special Public Works Program as part of the Federal Government’s effort to provide jobs to an unemployed person either employable or self-employed, since unemployment is dynamic in its forms and patterns, regular innovative strategies are required to tackle it effectively
The Special Public Works employment is a three months initiative and the programme is expected to run between October to December 2020. The essence of the exercise is to assist citizens who are affected by the covid-19 outbreak. This is thus aimed at relieving people who might have lost their job as a result of the Coronavirus disease in the country. The employment is believed to engage at least one thousand people each from the 774 local governments in the country.

STIPEND AND COMMISSION:
The exact payment structure for the job has not been announced but around #60 billion was released for the stipends and operational cost. Mathematically, the payment should run into some few thousands of naira per month like other social investment program.

The National Open University of Nigeria, (NOUN) Management board has announced through their Director of Media and Publicity, NOUN Mr Ibrahim Sheme, on Thursday 23rd, 2020 that its registration portal would remain open in spite of the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic until new entrants complete their admission procedures.
Mr Ibrahim Sheme, stated that the university’s portal remained open contrary to reports in the social media that it had been shut. The Director of Media and Publicity disowns negative reports peddled by some “idle minds” aimed at to hamper efforts by students and candidates to complete their registration.
The portal of the university remains open; however, management wishes to indicate that students and candidates seeking admission will definitely encounter a hitch in the second leg of registration process which has nothing to do with the university portal.

However, students should take note that if one has not been able to complete one’s registration in this semester, he or she can do so in the next semester.
The university management urged NOUN students to strictly adhere to the stay-at-home order and other safety protocols in order to curtail the spread of the virus and also stay alive to continue with their educational pursuits after lockdown.
