Key Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters affecting the resort’s operations. - Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including vendor, employment, partnership, and real estate documents. - Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including hospitality, labor, environmental, and tax laws. - Represent the company in legal proceedings, arbitration, and mediation, and manage relationships with external counsel as required. - Advise management on risk management strategies, dispute resolution, and the legal implications of business decisions. - Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and legal opinions on matters impacting the resort. - Oversee corporate governance processes, ensuring the company’s policies and practices align with best practices and statutory requirements. - Support business transactions such as acquisitions and other ventures, including due diligence and compliance checks. - Protect the company’s intellectual property, manage licensing issues, and advise on branding and marketing initiatives. - Liaise with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and industry stakeholders to advocate for the company’s interests and maintain positive relationships. - Keep abreast of legal developments relevant to the hospitality and tourism sector, proactively updating company policies as needed Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution;active membership of the Nigerian Bar Association. - Minimum of 5 years’ post-call experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably with exposure to hospitality, real estate, or tourism sectors. - Proven experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution. - Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate, labor, and regulatory law. - Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills. - High ethical standards, integrity, and sound judgment. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Experience with intellectual property, environmental law, or compliance is an added advantage.
