European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Road To 2013/2014 Uefa Champions League Draw. by neeyhmutate(op):
The seeding pots for Thursday's Champions League draw can be confirmed after the final qualifiers were completed.

Lyon's exit to Real Sociedad handed a boost to Juventus, who were set to be in pot three but have moved up into pot two as a result of the Ligue 1 club's failure.

Lyon were the only one of the five seeded teams in the non-champions route to fail to make the group stage. By beating Dinamo Zagreb, Austria Vienna were the only non-seeds to qualify from the champions route.

Manchester City drop into pot three due to their poor display last season, while last season's runners-up Borussia Dortmund climb into pot three after being among the bottom seeds in 2012-13.

With big-spending Napoli in pot four another group of death seems likely, and City will be eager to avoid that for a third successive season. The nightmare scenario would see City drawn against Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, and Napoli. The holders will also want to avoid such a tough draw.

But Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are also in danger of getting that group of death, should one of those teams be drawn to play Atletico or PSG, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli.

The worst case for Barcelona and Real Madrid would see one of the Spanish giants face PSG, Man City or Borussia Dortmund, and Napoli.

You can follow the draw for the group stage live on ESPN FC, starting from 16.30 BST (5.45pm NGA) on SS3 on Thursday.

Seeding is calculated on performance in all European competitions over a five-year period.

Pot One: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal, FC Porto, Benfica.

Pot Two: Atletico Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, AC Milan, Schalke, Marseille, CSKA Moscow, PSG, Juventus

Pot Three: Zenit, Man City, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Basel, Olympiakos, Galatasaray, Leverkusen

Pot Four: FC Copenhagen, Napoli, Anderlecht, Celtic, Steaua Bucuresti, Viktoria Plzen, Real Sociedad, Austria Vienna

Allahu Akbar! Welcome to islam
Moral: For all muslim brothers and sisters, let us be up and doing in our dealings with people, let us be conscious of the fact that people are looking at us. Remember Mariam Jemila's words when she converted to islam in USA, she said "Had i met the muslims before I knew Islam, i wouldn't have been a muslim, but i know Islam before i knew the muslims". This is to tell us that Islam is beautiful. So also should the muslims be interms of character, what we represent and believe. Also let us remember the stories of the prophet Muhammed (SAW), many of his converts to Islam that we read their stories today are as a result of the prophet's disposition, good character and manners to them. Let us try and emulate these worthy good characters. May Allah assists us all to be upright and doing in our behaviours and manners.

in addition to this,my brothers and sisters in islam, it may not be easy but if you can try to fast that sitatul - shawwal. Allah promised the reward of who fasted for a whole year consecutively .

In a nutshell the reward is more than the little pain
Wayahkum my brother. May Allah make it easier for us all. Amin!
IslamFasting Six Days Of Shawwal After Ramadan: 'like Fasting The Entire Year'? by neeyhmutate(op):
Assalamu alaikum,

It's very important to remind my muslim faithfuls on NL the importance and significance of fasting six (6) days of Shawwal after Ramadan. So i took this as a responsibility to share this little knowledge with you all on this subject matter.

Ayyub (Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) said, “Whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days from Shawwal it is as if they fasted the entire year.” [This hadith is related by Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah; Ahmad transmitted it from Jabir, Muntaqa]

Thawban (Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) said, “Whoever fasts Ramadan, and then six days after Eid, it is [like fasting] an entire year. Whoever does a good deed shall have ten times its reward.” [Narated by Ibn Majah, Muntaqa]

1. Based on this, the majority of the fuqaha, including the Hanafi, Shafi`i, and Hanbali school of thought, have held that it is recommended to fast six days of the month of Shawwal.

2. It is permitted to fast these six days separately throughout the month, or consecutively, after Eid al-Fitr. Which ever one you find convenient is acceptable.

3. It is prohibitively disliked (makruh tahriman) and sinful to fast on Eid day itself. So this means no one is allowed to fast on the Eid festival like we are celebrating today for Eid-il-Fitr.

4. The Shafi`is and Hanbalis state that it is superior to make the six fasts consecutive [Related in Minhaj, Ghayat al-Muntaha]. Khatib al-Shirbini explains the reasoning as being, “In order to hasten to do the good, and because of the problems inevitable in delaying,” such as becoming lazy and not actually fulfilling this sunna in the end, though he points out that the sunna is fulfilled by both consecutive and non-consecutive fasting of six days in Shawwal. [In his book Mughni al-Muhtaj]

The later Hanafi scholars differed as to which is better, fasting the six days consecutively or non-consecutively, though neither is disliked and both fulfill the sunna. However, it would be agreed that those who fear not fulfilling the recommendation due to laziness, forgetfulness or other excuses, should hasten to fast the six days consecutively immediately after Eid al-Fitr.

5. The reward is akin to having fasted obligatory fasts the entire year days, according to Buhuti, Shirbini, and others.

Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace) said,

“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, though there is good in both. Be avid for that which benefits you. Rely on Allah and do not deem yourself incapable…”[Muslim 4816, Ibn Majah 76, Ahmad 8436]

Imam Nawawi (Allah have mercy on him) explained that the ‘strength’ in this hadith refers to, “One’s determination and ability in matters of the next life.” [Sharh Sahih Muslim]

And let us remember that only Allah alone gives success. May Allah accepts all our acts of worships we did throughout Ramadan as ibadah from us all (Amin).

We equally pray Allah makes this fasting six days Shawwal easier for everyone of us including the writer and you my fellow muslims.

Waa salam alaikum waramotulahi wabarakatuhu.

"May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon You"

Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allaah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

Sunnahs and Etiquettes of Eid

The Sunnahs that the Muslim should observe on the day of Eid are as follows:

1 – Doing ghusl before going out to the prayer.

It was narrated in a saheeh hadeeth in al-Muwatta and elsewhere that Abd-Allaah ibn Umar used to do ghusl on the day of al-Fitr before going out to the prayer-place in the morning. Al-Muwatta 428.

Al- Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said that the Muslims were unanimously agreed that it is mustahabb to do ghusl for Eid prayer.

The reason why it is mustahabb is the same reason as that for doing ghusl before Jumuah and other public gatherings. Rather on Eid the reason is even stronger.

2 – Eating before going out to pray on Eid al-Fitr and after the prayer on Eid al-Adha:

Part of the etiquette is not to go out to pray on Eid al-Fitr until one has eaten some dates, because of the hadeeth narrated by al-Bukhaari from Anas ibn Maalik, who said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used not to go out on the morning of Eid al-Fitr until he had eaten some dates… of which he would eat an odd number. Al-Bukhaari, 953.

It is mustahabb to eat before going out to emphasize the fact that it is forbidden to fast on that day and to demonstrate that the fast has ended.

Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) suggested that the reason for that was so as to ward off the possibility of adding to the fast, and to hasten to obey the command of Allaah.

Whoever does not have any dates may break his fast with anything that is permissible.

But on Eid al-Adha it is mustahabb not to eat anything until one comes back from the prayer, so he should eat from the udhiyah if he has offered a sacrifice. If he is not going to offer a sacrifice there is nothing wrong with eating before the prayer. This is acceptable to the Hanafi school of thought, but imam shafi school of thought recommends that whether your are offering sacrifice or not, you should not eat pre-eid until after the prayer.

3 – Takbeer on the day of Eid

This is one of the greatest Sunnahs on the day of Eid because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"(He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allaah [i.e. to say Takbeer (Allaahu Akbar: Allaah is the Most Great)] for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him"

[al-Baqarah 2:185]

It was narrated that al-Waleed ibn Muslim said: I asked al-Awzaai and Maalik ibn Anas about saying Takbeer out loud on the two Eids. They said, Yes, Abd-Allaah ibn Umar used to say it out loud on the day of al-Fitr until the imam came out (to lead the prayers).

Al-Daaraqutni and others narrated that on the morning of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, Ibn Umar would strive hard in reciting takbeer until he came to the prayer place, then he would recite takbeer until the imam came out.

Ibn Abi Shaybah narrated with a saheeh isnaad that al-Zuhri said: The people used to recite Takbeer on Eid when they came out of their houses until they came to the prayer place, and until the imam came out. When the imam came out they fell silent, and when he said takbeer they said takbeer. See Irwa' al-Ghaleel, 1/121

Saying takbeer when coming out of ones house to the prayer place and until the imam came out was something that was well known among the salaf (early generations) . This has been narrated by a number of scholars such as Ibn Abi Shaybah, `Abd a l-Razzaaq and al-Firyaabi in Ahkaam al-Eidayn from a group of the salaf. For example, Naafi' ibn Jubayr used to recite takbeer and was astonished that the people did not do so, and he said, "Why do you not recite takbeer?"

Ibn Shihaab al-Zuhri (may Allaah have mercy on him) used to say, "The people used to recite takbeer from the time they came out of their houses until the imam came in."

The time for takbeer on Eid al-Fitr starts from the night before Eid until the imam enters to lead the Eid prayer.

In the case of Eid al-Adha, the takbeer begins on the first day of Dhul-Hijjah and lasts until sunset on the last of the days of tashreeq.

Description of the takbeer:

It was narrated in the Musannaf of Ibn Abi Shaybah with a saheeh isnaad from Ibn Masood (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he used to recite takbeer during the days of tashreeq:

Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar,

laa ilaaha ill-Allaah,

wa Allaahu akbar,

Allaah akbar, wa Lillaah il-hamd

(Allaah is Most Great, Allaah is most Great, there is no god but Allaah, Allaah is Most great, Allaah is most great, and to Allaah be praise).

It was also narrated elsewhere by Ibn Abi Shaybah with the same isnaad, but with the phrase "Allaahu akbar" repeated three times.

Al-Mahaamili narrated with a saheeh isnaad also from Ibn Masood: "Allaahu akbaru kabeera, Allaahu akbaru kabeera, Allaahu akbar wa ajallu, Allaahu akbar wa Lillaah il-hamd

(Allaah is Most Great indeed, Allaah is Most Great indeed, Allaah is most Great and Glorified, Allaah is Most Great and to Allaah be praise)." See al-Irwa', 3/126.

4 – Offering congratulations

The etiquette of Eid also includes the congratulations and good wishes exchanged by people, no matter what the wording, such as saying to one another

Taqabbala Allaah minna wa minkum

(May Allaah accept (good deeds) from us and from you" or " Eid mubaarak " and other permissible expressions of congratulations.

It was narrated that Jubayr ibn Nufayr said: When the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) met one another on the day of Eid, they would say to one another, "May Allaah accept (good deeds) from us and from you." Ibn Hajar said, its isnaad is hasan. Al-Fath, 2/446.

Offering congratulations was something that was well known among the Sahaabah, and scholars such as Imam Ahmad and others allowed it. There is evidence which suggests that it is prescribed to offer congratulations and good wishes on special occasions, and that the Sahaabah congratulated one another when good things happened, such as when Allaah accepted the repentance of a man, they went and congratulated him for that, and so on.

Undoubtedly these congratulations are among the noble characteristics among the Muslims.

The least that may be said concerning the subject of congratulations is that you should return the greetings of those who congratulate you on Eid, and keep quiet if others keep quiet, as Imam Ahmad (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: If anyone congratulates you, then respond, otherwise do not initiate it.

5 – Adorning oneself on the occasion of Eid.

It was narrated that Abd-Allaah ibn Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said that Umar took a brocade cloak that was for sale in the market and brought it to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and said, "O Messenger of Allaah, buy this and adorn yourself with it for Eid and for receiving the delegations.
" The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to him, "Rather this is the dress of one who has no share (of piety or of reward in the Hereafter)…" Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 948.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) agreed with `Umar on the idea of adorning oneself for Eid, but he denounced him for choosing this cloak because it was made of silk.

It was narrated that Jaabir (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had a cloak which he would wear on the two Eids and on Fridays. Saheeh Ibn Khuzaymah, 1756,

Al-Bayhaqi narrated with a saheeh isnaad that Ibn Umar used to wear his best clothes on Eid.

So a man should wear the best clothes that he has when going out for Eid.

With regard to women, they should avoid adorning themselves when they go out for Eid, because they are forbidden to show off their adornments to non-mahram men. It is also haraam for a woman who wants to go out to put on perfume or to expose men to temptation, because they are only going out for the purpose of worship.

6 – Going to the prayer by one route and returning by another.

It was narrated that Jaabir ibn Abd-Allaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: On the day of Eid, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to vary his route . Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 986.

It was said that the reason for that was so that the two routes would testify for him on the Day of Resurrection, for the earth will speak on the Day of Resurrection and say what was done on it, both good and bad.

Also another reason for that was that at the time when there was war, the prophet would advice the companions to vary their routes so that the enemies of islam would not easily predict which route they will pass. So this was more of a strategic plan to distabilize any form of bad plans the enemies of islam could be planning, so they vary their routes inorder to avoid clash of war with the enemies of islam.

7- Playing, Recreation, And Eating On The Day Of Eid:
These are permissible as long as they stay within the acceptable bounds of Islam. Anas  said: When the Prophet, sallaallahu alayhi wa sallam, came to Al-Madeenah, they had two days for amusement. The Prophet, sallaallahu alayhi wa sallam, has exchanged these days for two better days: the day of breaking the fast and the day of sacrifice. [An-Nasaa'i and Ibn Hibbaan]

8- Taking Women And Children To The Prayer Area on eid day:
The Prophet sallaallahu alayhi wa sallam, used to take his wives and daughters to the two 'Eeds. Umm Atiyah, may Allaah be pleased with her, said: "We were ordered to go out with the single and menstruating women to the two Eids in order to witness the good and the supplications of the Muslims. The menstruating women though would stay away from the prayer area." [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]

9- The Eid Prayer

The second obligatory act on Eid day is to perform the Eid prayer. Some rules in this respect are mentioned hereunder:

1. The Eid prayer is wajib (obligatory) on every male Muslim.

2. The Eid prayer can be performed any time between the sunrise and when the sun reaches its zenith (beginning of the zuhr prayer time).

3. It is preferable that the Eid prayer is performed at an open field and not in a masjid. However, if, it is difficult for any reason to perform it in an open field, it can also be performed in a large masjid.

4. It is not advisable to hold the Eid prayer in every masjid. Rather, it is preferable that the people from several small masjids get together to either perform it in an open field or, in its absence, in a big masjid which can accommodate a large number of people.

5. No nafl (nawafil) salat can be performed before the Eid prayer, neither in one’s home nor at the place of Eid prayer. Similarly, nafl (nawafil) prayer cannot be performed after the Eid prayer at the same place. However, it can be performed after one comes back to his home/house.

6. The Eid prayer has neither an adhan nor an iqamah.

10- How Does One Perform the Eid Prayer as a Follower?
Both Eid prayers are only 2 prayer cycles (rakats). It is necessary (wajib) for both the imam and follower to give the additional takbirs for Eid during the prayer.

To perform the prayer as a follower:

I. One makes the intention in one’s heart to perform the Eid prayer as a follower of the Imam. It is recommended to say the intention silently.

II. One gives the opening takbir (Allahu Akbar) with the Imam.

III. One says the opening supplication quietly to oneself.

IV. One gives three additional takbirs (Allahu Akbar) with the Imam.

For each additional takbir, one raises the hands like the opening takbir, says the takbir out loud with the Imam, returns the hands to one’s sides, and pauses for a brief moment before proceeding with the other takbirs with the Imam.

For a man, after the third and final takbir, he places his hands together, right on left under the navel. For a woman, she places her hands upon her chest.

V. One listens to the Imam recite the Fatiha and an additional sura.

VI. One says the sunna ‘Allahu Akbar’ while moving into the bowing position with the Imam and completes the prayer cycle (raka’) like usual. One does not raise the hands when saying ‘Allahu Akbar’ as one moves into the bowing or prostrating position.

VII. In the second prayer cycle (raka’), one listens to the Imam recite the Fatiha and an additional sura upon standing up from prostration.

VIII.

After the third and final takbir, one places one’s arms next to one’s sides.

IX. One says ‘Allahu Akbar’ while moving into the bowing position with the Imam and completes the prayer cycle (raka’) like usual. One does not raise the hands when saying ‘Allahu Akbar’ as one moves into the bowing or prostrating position.

X. One sits for the tashahud, gives blessings upon the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), and says the two final salams with the Imam.

11- The sermon (Khutbah): The Eid al-Fitr Sermon

Khutbah is a sunnah for Eid salat and is delivered afterwards, unlike the salat of Jumu‘ah where it is fard and is delivered before the salat. However, listening to the khutbah of Eid salat is wajib (necessary) and must be observed in perfect silence.

It is a sunnah for the imam to begin the first khutbah by reciting takbirs nine times and seven times in the second khutbah.
IslamRe: A Thread For Sammytope's Questions On Ramadan by neeyhmutate(m): 1:39pm On Aug 07, 2013
SAMMYTOPE: My Qs goes thus:
Is it the Reward the same when Xtian fast (ramadan) with the Muslims brethren? Considering the facts that they do nt knw how to make all the necessary dua or the normal prayers that goes with ramadan. Hence xtians stop eating by 12am if they want to fast the nxt day (muslims eat till 3-4am) Can some1 pls shed light into this.
golpen: Not completely no, madame. What I mean is that it is compulsory for muslims (after meeting up with the necessary requirements), while it is voluntary for non-muslims, if you so wish to fast.

The thing is; fasting ramadan goes beyond staying away from food dor those period of time. It entails keeping away from hurtful speeches, yelling, watching absurd materials or listening to ungodly tunes. It also entails going through some special routines of worship and praises of ALLAH (swt) in the islamic way. If you are able to meet up with these regulations, fasting, being voluntary to you is encouraged.

Are you the person in question ma?
The simple answer to ur question is NO. It's not the same reward a xtian will get if/when he/she decides to fast in the month of ramadan. I dont know the measurable reward God will give to xtain's fasting, i only knw of the islamic fasting. So you must understnd first & foremost that there are conditions for fasting. Q2:183-184 therein, Allah has stated those conditions, among are 1. You must be a muslim (believer), so if you are a xtian and u r fastin ramadan, it's an exercise in futility. Bcx Allah said "O ye who believe" not "O ye mankind". 2.You must be of sound mind i.e sane (3)You must have sound health, among other conditions that had alredy bin explained.

So if a xtain is fastin ramadan, such fast will only be acceptable if he/she personally believes in Allah (God) & His messenger (p.b.u.h) and not this xtain's doctrine. Then only Allah can reward him/her according to His wishes. Allah is the Most Merciful, Most Bountiful.

Thanks in advance.[/quote]Well, the eid festival will likely be btw 8th/9th depending on the sighting of the new moon to mark the end of ramadan and signifies the beginning of Shawwal.
IslamRe: Does Being Intimate With Your Wife During Ramadan period Breaks Our Fasting? by neeyhmutate(m): 12:51pm On Aug 07, 2013
[quote author=Mr. Aladin]Just curious to all muslims Does Having Sex With Your Wife During Ramadan period Breaks your Fasting?[/quote]Yes it does while u are fasting.i.e having any form of intimacy with one's wife during the hours of fasting breaks one's fasting. But you can have intimacy with them ONLY during the nights of Ramadan. But acts such as "peckin" is allowed, "kissing" with one's "rightful" wife is permissible provided you can control yourselves and ensure it does not lead to sex. But can you do that?

But having sex with one's wife during the last 10days of ramadan is NOT allowed. Q2:187 explains that. Whether you are on itik'af or not, it's not permissible to have or go near them for intimacy.

I hope that explains ur question clearer. S/alaikum!
IslamHow We Should Greet Each Other On عيد /eid: by neeyhmutate(op): 11:15am On Aug 07, 2013
بِسْــــــــــــــــمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

Since Eid ȋs in ά đaƴ or 2(depending on sighting of the moon) I thought it ȋ̊s important ţσ share the following:

Here is how we should greet each other on عيد /eid:

Q. How should one greet others on the day of Eid?

A. One should congratulate others on the day of Eid by saying:
تَقَبَّلَ اللَّهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ

“Taqabbalallahu Minna wa Minka”
Translation: May ﺂللَّــہ accept our and your (good deeds)
.
Once a Sahabi رضى الله تعالى عنه met Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم on the day of Eid and said to him:

“Taqabbalallahu Minna wa Minka”
(May ﺂللَّــہ accept our and your (good deeds).

Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم replied:

“Na’am (Yes), Taqabbalallahu Minna wa Minka”.

Likewise the Sahabah would say

“Taqabbalallahu Minna wa Mink” when they would meet on the day of Eid.

(Fathul Bari, Vol:2, Pg:446, Darul Ma'rifah

•PS: Strange MEN AND WOMAN should NOT shake hands on this day or any day for that matter--- its HARAAM/FORBIDDEN
Men can shake hands with men ONLY and
Women can shake hands with women ONLY.

Strange ȋ̊s this context would mean anybody that one can marry- cousins, ƒriends etc

It is not permissible for a man who believes in Allaah and His Messenger to put his hand in the hand of a women who is not permissible for him or who is not one of his mahrams. Whoever does that has wronged himself (i.e., sinned).

It was narrated that Ma’qil ibn Yassaar said: the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than that he should touch a woman who is not permissible for him.”

Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, #486. Shaykh al-Albaani said in Saheeh al-Jaami’, #5045, that this hadeeth is saheeh.

This hadeeth alone is sufficient to deter and to instill the obedience required of us by اللَّه سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى , because it implies that touching a women we are not permissible for may lead to temptation and immorality.

May Almighty Allah accepts all our good deeds as an act of ibadah from us all [Amin].
