freshdudeyeeks:No, you don't have to worry about that as the board is currently working towards increasing the number of candidates needed from the recruitment ahead of 2027 election so there's still hope. |
Haywhyluv9:Apologies for late reply, currently the CDCFIB is looking forward to increasing the number of people that will be recruited into it's agencies so there's still hope. |
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has issued a safety advisory urging residents to keep a safe distance from exposed electrical wires and to avoid touching anyone who is in contact with electricity. In a statement shared on its official X account on Monday, the commission stressed that electricity is highly dangerous, warning that attempting to rescue a victim without proper safety precautions could lead to further injuries or even fatalities. The advisory cautioned: “Safety first: Don’t Become the Next Victim! Electricity is powerful, but it doesn’t play favorites. If you see a live wire down or witness someone getting shocked, your first instinct might be to jump in. Stop right there! Touching a victim with your bare hands or trying to pull them away can send the current straight through you, too.” According to PUNCH, NERC also outlined key safety measures, including avoiding direct contact with live wires or victims, maintaining a safe distance while ensuring others do the same, and immediately notifying the nearest electricity distribution company (DisCo) or emergency services. The commission urged members of the public to act responsibly and allow trained professionals to handle electrical emergencies, noting that following these guidelines can save lives and prevent further accidents. The advisory is part of the commission’s ongoing public awareness efforts to educate communities about electrical safety and reduce incidents caused by fallen power lines and other electrical hazards. Residents were encouraged to share the message to help protect their families and neighbors. In preparation for the upcoming recruitment exercise by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), scheduled to commence on Monday, 14th July 2025, we have compiled a list of 7 Common Mistakes Applicants Make and How to avoid them. This guide is designed to help you identify these common errors and take the right steps in avoiding them, thereby increasing your chances of being successfully recruited into any government agency or job role you apply for in Nigeria. Before We Get Started: Who are the CDCFIB? The CDCFIB stands for Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board. It is a Federal Government body responsible for overseeing the Recruitment, Promotion, and General Human Resource Management of four key Paramilitary agencies in Nigeria namely: 1. Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) 2. Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) 3. Federal Fire Service (FFS) 4. Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Functions of the CDCFIB: 1. Cordinating and conducting recruitment exercises into any of the CDCFIB agencies 2. Overseeing appointments, promotions, and disciplinary actions 3. Ensuring compliance with federal government employment guidelines and quotas 4. Managing training, posting, and manpower development They also ensure that recruitment is transparent, fair and based on merit, and that operations across the agencies are streamlined and standardized. 7 Common Mistakes Applicants Make and How to Avoid them 1. Inconsistent Date of Birth Across Documents Using different dates of birth on your NIN, BVN, and academic certificates can lead to automatic disqualification. Ensure all personal details are consistent across all official documents before applying. 2. Misplacing or Submitting the Wrong Credentials Many applicants lose track of their documents or mistakenly submit the wrong ones. Always double-check your credentials and organize them properly before and after submission. Also, make sure to go to with the original of those submitted documents during physical screening as other documents will not be accepted. 3. Disregard for Instructions Failing to follow instructions during the application or screening process is viewed as indiscipline and can lead to disqualification. Always adhere strictly to guidelines provided. 4. Multiple Applications for the Same Recruitment Submitting multiple applications is a red flag and often results in instant disqualification. Apply only once and make sure your submission is complete and error-free. Also, avoid applying for multiple organizations under the same board e.g CDCFIB. 5. Lack of Preparation for the CBT (Computer-Based Test) Going into the test without proper preparation can affect your performance. After application, try to make research and about the organization you applied for, this will help you prepare ahead of time. 6. Not Checking Emails Regularly Many candidates miss important updates because they don’t check their emails. Always check your inbox and spam folder after submitting your application. 7. Applying for Senior Positions Without Backup It is very difficult to get Senior-Level position at entry in any government organization in Nigeria as they mostly recruit junior positions. We strongly recommend applying for Junior-Level Positions then convert to Senior when you're already into the system and also eligible for conversion. Conclusion Securing a position through the CDCFIB Recruitment process or any government recruitment in Nigeria requires more than just submitting an application. Avoiding common mistakes such as inconsistent personal details, multiple submissions, and lack of preparation can significantly increase your chances of success. hopramaxi:The training lasts for 6 months, both Basic and Arms training. |
Godwinmy:Yes, but you should try to get the original of the certificate before the screening stage. |
Waramiedema63:Which service did you apply for and when did you apply? |
tobillionaire:She didn't collect the original of the waec certificate she applied with, which we had enough time to do that. Although, she was also pregnant at that time so it's possible either one or both led to her disqualification. |
gr8cany:That's for sure. Although I didn't have any single connection when I applied, just tried my luck and it worked for me, even my elder sister that got to the Orji river with me couldn't make it to the documentation stage. |
tobillionaire:No dear, you must apply with the original of your certificates. |
CDCFIB Recruitment 2025/26: How I Applied, Passed and Got Accepted into one of the Four Agencies Following the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) recruitment exercise scheduled to commence on July 14th, 2025, and expected to run for three weeks, we’ve put together this guide to help you prepare effectively. At Techzeel, one of our team members successfully applied and was recruited into one of the CDCFIB agencies and we’ve drawn from their experience to provide valuable insights. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to apply and increase your chances of getting accepted into any of the agencies under CDCFIB. Whether you’re applying for the first time or you’ve tried before without success, this guide is designed to give you practical tips, common mistakes to avoid, and understand what to expect at each stage. Managing training, posting, and manpower development 5. They also ensure that recruitment is transparent, fair and based on merit, and that operations across the agencies are streamlined and standardized. Getting Started It was on August, 2019 before the COVID, a relative called to notify me about the ongoing Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps recruitment exercise under CDCFIB. I was directed me to go to the Cyber Cafe with my educational certificate, NIN Slip, passport photograph and a minimum of N1,000 service fee which will be charged by the cyber cafe as at then. The following day I went to there with my credentials as directed. When I got there the person logged into the CDCFIB official recruitment portal (https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng) where she filled in my details and then submitted. After that, she printed an acknowledgement slip from the portal and gave to me stating that it was for reference in case I was shortlisted into the service. Shortlisting Stage Two years after applying on the CDCFIB Portal, I got an official email that I’ve been shortlisted and expected to go to a nearby CBT center in my location on a given date for me to participate in the Computer-based Test for the Recruitment exercise. I knew that the Computer-based Test was to test my knowledge about the service I was applying for so I prepared for it using the NSCDC Act 2003, and 2007 (Amended) with some other research I made concerning the agency. Kindly note that the shortlisting process usually takes not more than 3-6 months after applying but the 2019/20 recruitment was delayed due to the COVID. Physical Screening and Certificate Verification Stage A month after writing the Computer-Based Test, I received an official email on July 18th, 2021. It stated that, following my application and participation in the recent assessment exercise, I had been shortlisted once again, this time for the physical screening and certificate verification exercise. The exercise was scheduled to hold at the nearest training facility of the agency, which for me was the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Training School, Achi, Orji River LGA, Enugu State. For the physical screening and certificate verification, I was required to come along with the following documents and items: 1. Printout of the letter invitation 2. Printout of Application Confirmation Slip with ID number 3. Original of all relevant certificates, including Date of Birth and Indigene Certificate 4. To appear in white canvas, white vest and white shorts 5. Medical Certificate from a Government Hospital 6. A valid form of identification This, I adherred to and went to the venue where I met other applicants who also came for the same purpose, we were successfully screened then told to go that we will be notified later on. Final Documentation Stage Finally, I was called by a personnel of the NSCDC informing me about the successful application into the agency and told me to check my email address for further directive on the documentation stage. When I checked I saw an email stating that the board is pleased to inform me that I have been shortlisted and invited for documentation and required to go with the following documents/items; 1. Printout of the letter of invitation 2. Printout of Application Confirmation Slip with ID number 3. Original and six (6) copies of all relevant certificates, including Birth and Indigene certificate 4. Eight Copies of normal size coloured passport photograph 5. Pen, Pencil, Eraser (cleaner) and Sharpener 6. To appear in white canvas, white vest, white shorts and Face mask 6. A valid form of identification. And that was all on my experience on securing a position in one of the CDCFIB paramilitary agencies. Conclusion Acquiring a position in the CDCFIB recruitment exercise is more than just employment, it’s an opportunity to serve your nation while building a stable and rewarding career. Also, success in the recruitment process requires careful attention to eligibility requirements, error-free application submission, and preparation for all assessment stages. It's official Chelsea Football Club are no longer interested in Norway national, Erling Haaland as they Target Lewandowski Thomas Tuchel is desperate to bring in a prolific new number nine this summer and had made Haaland his top target. But Dortmund would only listen to an offer of around £175 million for the Norway international. That has forced Chelsea to return to the drawing board and revive their interest in Lewandowski. The Poland international enjoyed a stunning campaign last season, breaking Gerd Muller’s long-standing record by scoring 41 times. Despite turning 33 next month, Tuchel now regards the experienced front man as “his best option” in a difficult transfer market and could be the ideal signing to finish the hoard of chances his side created last season. Lewandowski is contracted to Bayern until 2023 and a bid of £50 million would be required to land the striker.
