I might be wrong, I think this is an unnecessarily power play between these so called super powers. India, a country ravaged with endemic poverty is spending so much for space exploration when millions of Indians can't eat twice a day and with millions of unemployed roaming the streets.
Third World countries need HDI and not this jamborees.
Do you even know how much India earns from space business every year ?

It launches satellites for foreign countries including USA EU etc

India has highest no of startups in the space sector , they even provide services to US government agencies, winning contracts from same

And do you even understand what true capabilities are , of a country which designs, manufactures and launches civilian and military satellites, interplanetary probes, scientific payloads, this is called true independence of capabilities with no boundaries and 2nd to none

India has the largest constellation of remote sensing satellites, India has it own navigation and positioning system which will become global like GPS in a few years , Because India has the capabilities therefore NASA JAXA ROSCOSMOS ESA willing to form partnerships, no one gives a fuk to anyone without equal capabilities at the least

A country with 5th largest economy, 4th largest foreign reserve, highest growth rate is a country with endemic poverty ?

Waste of time even replying to such comments

India has become the 1st country to successfully land a spacecraft on the moon's south pole and 4th country to soft-land a spacecraft on the Moon

Chandrayaan-3 was aiming to become the first spacecraft to touch down in a region of the lunar surface thought to contain deep craters with water ice

India's third lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the Moon on Wednesday, August 23 at 6.03 PM IST

All eyes are on Chandryaan-s's Vikram Lander which also contains the Pragyan rover that will study the surface of the moon

Moon’s South Pole, also known as the lunar south pole is of special interest to scientists because of the occurrence of water ice in permanently shadowed areas around it. The lunar south pole has craters on its surface that are unique in their own way, as sunlight is not able to reach their interiors.

This is why these craters are cold traps that contain a fossil record of hydrogen, water ice, and other volatiles dating from the early Solar System. Considering these cold temperatures, the matter trapped in the southern lunar region wouldn’t have witnessed much change over the years and could thereby hold clues to early life.

These factors make the southern lunar pole fascinating for scientific investigations.
