The only weightlifter that represented Nigeria at Rio has said she has lost the urge to represent Nigeria at international events.
Mariam Usman, pictured above, left the shores of Nigeria for Brazil, the Commonwealth medallist in the +75kg in weightlifting knowing fully well that winning a medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics would be a tough call.
She would not pretend to be a magician nor claim perfection where there is none. Usman believes one can only reap where one sows.
She competed in the +75 category, amassed 265 kg and finished 8th in her group. While speaking to reporters at the Games Village in Rio, Usman said:
“It is painful to come to the Olympics and see people who are your contemporaries perform better than you; not because you lack the ability but because you were not prepared like them,” she said,

“For me, it is not just about jumping unto the plane every four years to go to the Olympics. Every athlete you see here wants to step on the podium. If you can’t aim to climb up there, you have no business coming to the Olympics. I can only consider going to another Olympics if things change for the better. But if the statues quo is maintained, I don’t think I will go to another Olympics again”

She said training for the Rio Olympics was non-existent while her counterparts from other countries who are competing here in Brazil have been training for three to four years.

“Olympic gold medal doesn’t come cheap. It is painful that one has to suffer and when competition comes they expect you to win a medal with your blood. “The people you have to compete with had everything they needed: training grants, competitions and are exposed to the most modern equipment. I had nothing. You don’t expect such people who have invested so much to lose to one who don’t even train adequately.”

The African champion said before the 2012 Olympics, she had better training than she did under the current dispensation.

“Yes, I feel 2012 was better. I had better training and my result was better. This time nothing was done to better one’s performance.”

How Do You Feel When A Storyline Is Repeated In Church


in several occations i see pastor in church repeating thesame topic or a different topic with thesame story line... How do you feel?

It was some plain uniform sars whith guns at first i was supries not until i saw the girl of the previous night with an elderly man.
"is this the man?" i heared him asked turning to the girl who was with her uncle
"Are you mr. Johnson? " the police man asked turning to face me
"You are under arrest"
"for what officer, i cant arrest me for nothing i no my right" i said still trying claiming right.
I heared a resounding slap on my face but it took me 3 seconds to know the exact place the slap landed.
"my friend are you stupid? When you get there you will know" one short and bold looking officer shouted at me, he most have been spending all day in the gim, (cuz him musles no be here oh)

"Let me take something inside" no body told me to calm down
"no let me slap you oh again oh"
"we look like your playmate?" he added.

I was handcuff and taking to the station i recieve the shock of my life when i saw on the notice board

i tried to know the reason for my arrest but who care to listen no body want me to explain or listen to what i got to say (no be nigeria police?)i was boundle to the cell where i saw michael i didnt regonise him at first because his face was disfigured and swollen... I try to get him explain what was goin on that was when i knew that i was mentioned by him for rape the girl came with his uncle to arrest him after enough turtore he mentioned me. I was turtored (story fo another day) my mum have to pay 30k before them release me oh.

Although this happened early this year, but have been busy with my blog, i wasnt able to share with you.

I was just in my house sleeping that was around 9pm one friday like that. I wasnt dead asleep and beside am a lightsleeper i heared a knock on my door i open the door and it was one of my not so close friend, he said he was with his girlfriend and that the girl uncle beat and drove her out of the house and that he cant carry the girl to his family house cause he lives with his parent that i should help him with my room (base on niggur niggur thinks) and without much thinking seeing the girl shivering and shaking because of cool. I let them in i asked if i should leave them alone in the room (wanted to use my junior brother room who wasnt around) he said no that we can share the room

i gave them my well arrange bed why i slept on the ground in the middle of the night i began to hear struggles and noices like "no.... Dont touch me..." i knew it was from a female voice but didnt care, when the noise began to get louder that was when i woke up but was still lying down trying to get what was wrong between the two couple in the bed. After a little silence i heared my window open and something drop out that was when it was dawn on me that i have to wake up, i only saw my friend on the bed without the girl i passed through the door and saw the girl flipflop (shoes) and my window was open, the girl was out (through the window) i was angry as i came inside.

"bobo hwfa nah? Which kind agreement you and that girl get" i asked with anger
"no mind that girl, she dey craze i been want collect she dey form" he said sensing my anger.

I cant ask him to leave at that ungodly hour it was 3am i slept of the next morning i asked him to leave as early as 6am

Around 12 i was in my house playing (raba) by dj shabsy, i heared a loud knock almost louder than my home theater.
