APC Gains Momentum in Delta State as Top Leaders Defect from PDP

The political landscape in Delta State is undergoing a significant shift, as top leaders from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This trend is led by influential figures, including Eriethake Ibori-Suenu, daughter of former Delta State Governor James Ibori, who joined the APC on December 5th, 2024 ¹.

Another notable defection is that of Hon. Emeka Daniels, from ndokwa west , former Special Assistant to Governor Okowa, who dumped the PDP on December 30th 2024. His move has sparked a wave of interest among notable persons in the Ndokwa nation, who are now following in his footsteps,
Hon. Chief Barry Sam Amechi Chukwuji.. Former council chairman ndokwa East LGA defected to APC as well.

These high-profile defections are seen as a major blow to the PDP in Delta State, where the party has traditionally held sway. The APC, on the other hand, is gaining momentum, with many analysts predicting a strong showing in future elections.

The reasons behind these defections are varied, but many attribute them to the growing dissatisfaction with the PDP's leadership and policies. Others see the APC as a more viable alternative, with a stronger national presence and a more cohesive vision for the country's future.

In a related development, Delta North Senator, Ned Nwoko, has also defected to the APC, further bolstering the party's presence in the state ¹. This trend of defections is likely to continue, as more and more politicians seek to align themselves with the APC's growing momentum.

Vice Presidential candidate of PDP appoints daniels emeka from Ndokwa West LGA as Special Assistant in Delta State

PDP Vice Presidential candidate, His Excellency Sen. Ifeanyi Arthur okowa, executive Governor of Delta State has on the 12th December 2022 appointed two new Special Advisers.
An appointment letter issued by the office of the governor listed Mr. daniels emeka Kelvin as Special Assistant on Community Development. Signed by the Secretary to the State Governor, Mr Patrick Ukah.

Also on the list is Mr Elimuya Chukwuka Samson.

According to the letter, the newly-appointed Special Assistants, are being congratulated by the governor, and are mandated to join hands with the State Governor to ensure the continues development that is going on in the State.
As we all know, the PDP vice Presidential candidate is doing everything within his power to ensure his tenure as a governor ends well, especially in community development. We hope and believe the newly appointees carries out their duties effectively.
