In case of Coutinho, he played for Liverpool in group stage and he is going to play in Barcelona in knockout stage of the league meanwhile he is cup tied. Every team in the knockout stage has to submit their new players list to UEFA after this January transfer window. Coutinho won't be listed in the player list that will be submitted by Liverpool and will not be included in FC Barcelona squad for knockout stage. .

IF Liverpool win the Champions League,
Coutinho will get a medal as he played in the
group stages of the CL for Liverpool. However,
if Barcelona win the Champions League, he
will not get a medal as he is “cup tied” and
ineligible to play for Barcelona in the
Champions League. UEFA rules prevent a
player from playing for two clubs in the same
season of the Champions League. So Liverpool owes him a medal if eventually they win the competition.
