Thank u ma

I sat for 30min, that's was my "me" time, I chatted called friends and relaxed, did it two to three times daily and used warm water with dettol to clean up anytime I peed. It was what my doc recommended.

I am not a fan of Tommy Tippee. Can you look for other shapes of teat? Sometimes, it might be the teat shape and not the texture.

Also, you can try a different approach. Don't be around when your baby is being bottle fed. Leave it for your mum to do and don't give her breast no matter how hard she cries. If not, she will think that as long as she protests long enough, she will get what she wants. BM is sweeter than formula.
@ Blank: thanks soo much for the advise! It worked well.
I didn't realise how attached I was to my dd until I had to leave her alone for 4 hours with my mum o. Don't know how I will be when she starts creche.

I introduced expressed BM in bottle first and gradually introduced the formula and it worked like magic, I also had to change the teat size and type to Avent.

Hello Sabi mama's, I am a ftm, although I have followed the thread for a while and even commented once.

My dd is 10weeks old and is on exclusive bm, I will resuming back to work in 2 weeks. I have been trying to introduce my dd to formula (NAN)for the past 2 days but she has consistently refused, my mum says the teats (Tommie tippee)of the feeding bottle is hard that is why she is rejecting it.

Please I need advise on how best I can introduce formula to my dd before I resume, and if boiling the feeding bottle teats will make it soft as suggested by my mum. I am not so busty to even consider expressing for her because I have tried it in the past and nothing came out after using the pump for almost an hour.

Pls Sabi mama's come to ma rescu o!

@rofemiguwa, my LO is 7week and started having the rash before we left the hospital, the dr advised not to use anything on her skin again, that is I no longer use baby oil, lotion, powder etc after she baths just bath and dress up.

You need to watch out on the handling of ur lo's cloths disinfect when rinsing, and iron thoroughly be4 ur lo wears the cloths. If she is the type that sweats like mine ensure ur wear light cloths for her or put her in a well ventilated room.

I didn't do all these andd rash on my lo got infected and the doc had to recommend mupiderm ointment.

Don't worry your lo will be fine.

Hello NLnders,

I have followed this forum right from part 1 and have found it educative.

My DH after going thru the forum decided to have our baby in the US at the last minute, I was already 28week, so we quickly got all the necessary docs together and initiated correspondence with a hospital in Houston.

Our visa interview date came(by this time I was already 34 weeks) and we both went for the interview with our burden of proof containing our correspondence with the hospital, statement of account, marriage certificate, letter of intro from my place of work etc.

To cut the story short the VO that interviewed us was quite friendly and we answered all his questions.

The VO then brought out the sacred white slip and asked us to come pick our visas within the week.

By Monday, my DH got a mail to come pick his visa which was quite surprising as we applied together but to my surprise I received a mail on Thursday informing me that my visa application is going through an administration process and I have to wait at least 60 days before I can contact the embassy.

Fast-forward to now, I have not heard from them, they only asked me to come collect my passport after 2 weeks that they will contact me after the admin processing is completed.

My question is what do they mean by admin processing and can I reapply for visa again as to the best of my knowledge my visa application was neither granted or denied.

BTW, I had my LO here in Nigeria eventually. But I still plan to have the next one in the US.

Please help with answers to my questions
