Makaegbobi: I'm sorry about your experience, I understand how you feel. It is true, Gtb has been having this glitch since they did that their core banking wahala. The glitch doesn't show on everyone's account and that's why when people like you talk about it, others think you must have tampered with your account statement. It is unfortunate that you didn't carefully go through the statement before submitting it. I think you should go to Gtb headquarters to complain and ask them for a letter acknowledging that the mistake is from their system due to their core banking transition. I don't know how likely it is for you to get this letter but if you're able to get it, you can submit a complaint on UKVI website; clearly explaining what happened. Attach this letter, the account statement you submitted and if possible, the correct account statement to your complaint. There is no guarantee that you'll get your decision reversed but I think it is worth the shot. Thank you . I am to see my lawyer tomorrow, I just wanted to see if anyone here also submitted GTB of recent got same result and how they went about it. The 3 points raised why I refused doesn’t make sense to me. The first point, I submitted my business acc, submitted tax clearance, submitted my tax card. I submitted my Zenith bank which is my salary account from the company I work. My Gtb Bank is just my personal savings account for normal Runs. Travel expenses.. in my GtB, I didn’t even have such money at a bulk in my GtB to even think of spending such 50m plus within 6 months: The first reason why I was denied visa for Uk then was because there was an erroneous salary payment mistake from the company i work for. They paid me 620k instead of 621k . Just once. That was just their excuse for my denial, they said it was in consistent. |

davodyguy: This bank statement as it appears here will make anyone doubt.
Opening balance was about ₦500k Closing balance ₦6million.
Let's ignore the glitch from GTB about the ₦64m and ₦58m
₦6m minus ₦500k = ₦5,500,000 In 6 months, you're able to do an inflow of ₦5,500,000 in the same account.
This is how the ECO will think taking the account statement literally, that you just made up these ₦5.5m just to get the visa.
Try and understand my point.
This account statement whether glitch or not is responsible for this decision, as no other thing was emphasized on that you did wrongly, except the account You are actually not addressing the main point here, 1) the opening bal of the 500k you talking about is the balance as of June in my GTb. Not the opening balance of my acc in general as of when I opened it . The reason why it was 500k in June , it because June was my birthday, I had a luxury birthday trip to Morrocco & Uganda . provided the evidence. I also bought a new landed property. I provide receipt and evidence. Hence why my GtB savings account became 500k as of June as my balance. Yes I was in turkey and Italy of recent: is that not A list county? Pls kindly address the issue stated and not your assumptions: GtB made glitch in my acc- I need opinion about that. |

How can I possibly get alert of 60m in 6 month! I feel GtB’s figure is for the whole transaction and not the 6 month. Cause like i said. I have never even had 60 million at once in my GtB , talk-less of spending that amount within 6 months. Where I for see that kind money at once. And no-! I didn’t tamper with my statement of account! That’s how Gtb gave me and I submitted. Within 6 month the highest that i have gotten in my GtB acc is not even up to 7 million talk-less of 60 million. |

davodyguy: Apologies if I was wrong, but my response is based on the ECO's letter.
The ECO made it appear as if you submitted just one account, as emphasis was on the ₦64m and ₦58m

davodyguy: I have read the refusal letter and I'll say this to you and others that have companies, stating they're self employed.
1. If you say you pay yourself ₦600,000 monthly, you must first show that the amount actually enters your account monthly 2. Your company account you transfer from must be made available and the income or source of the funds in that account must be stated. If you have a balance of ₦10m in your company account and in the last 6 months no other inflow or sufficient inflow comes into that company account, then the ECO would doubt it that company is doing well to be able to pay you ₦600,000 3. You stated you have have savings, did you provide the savings account or you just stated it in your VAF or in the letter? 4. You also said you have another annual income of ₦10,200,000. Which business do you do that gave you this ₦10m? Did you also provide a bank statement to show this ₦10m
For you and others reading, you don't just throw figures at UK ECO. They're super smart and would know if you're not saying the truth about your financial circumstances.
You've already been refused before and the ECO referred to it, by saying He/she read the reason for refusal and still claimed he/she treated this application on it merits. That's a lie, they have that bias as soon as they see you've been previously refused and would look for a way to refuse again.
In my case, I stated, I was self employed I paid myself monthly salary. The bank statement I attached shows the inflow of the salary and outflow of the monthly expenses. They tally 100%.
The company account they the money goes out from, the bank statement was attached and for the entire 6 months, the salary left the account every month, while inflows from businesses the company conducts were also seen. This means if I claim to earn ₦10million a year as individual, then my company should be making 2 or 3 times more than my total annual salary for that company to be able to pay me ₦10million a year, pay taxes, and meet other financial obligations.
You can't just submit a company statement with say ₦16million balance and still claim it's from that ₦16m you pay yourself ₦10m per annum. Nope. Even I would doubt that the company is actually doing well enough to be able to pay you that much.
The ECO stated this clearly.
It's just just submitting bank statements with good balance and stating that you're only spending about 20% of the balance on the trip will convince the ECO to grant you leave of entry.
People need to do better
So, upon reading the refusal letter, the ECO is 100% spot on by this decision.
Paragraph 1: ECO says he/she needs to be convinced that you're doing well in Nigeria (a country where it's economy is doing badly and people begging to survive) so you'll not enter the UK and shout free at last and not want to return back to Nigeria
Paragraph 2: ECO says he/she is aware that you're refused before and craftly stated that the refusal was noted (This is a deep message). The ECO now claiming in the same paragraph that this application is treated separately is just a lie.
Paragraph 3: you stated you earn ₦620,000 monthly from a company as self employed and again from another employment you still earn ₦10,000,000 a year separate from the ₦620,000 a month and from all these earnings, you only spend ₦120,000. Naaaaa. No one will believe this. The disparity is much
Paragraph 5: ECO then say for you that earn ₦10,200,000 how much does this your company make annually to be able to even afford to pay you that much?
Paragraph 6: You earn ₦10million a year and bank statement is showing in flow of 68million and out flow of ₦58million for someone tha earns ₦10m. Where did you see the ₦64million?
Paragraph 7: Your bank statement shows you spent ₦58million, but same you claimed to spend only ₦120,000 monthly.
If I was the ECO, I wouldn't grant the visa over this disparities.
Just forget UK for now and try France or Italy. Those two would not start asking you if you go to toilet or not and if you watch movies or not. UK would question everything.
So to anyone that wants to apply, please learn from this and your package has to be very tight. No one would believe that i actually sent 120k a month , which I do actually! I have my own house, i submit my prove! I only pay utilities bills, I stay alone with my dependent who I just sponsored and paid her masters fee to unilag, I submitted all prove, I am not married: so why can’t I spend 120k a month? My work place got their website up and running, with my profile on their page and I work with a high class company as their senior project manager. So I am confused with all your summary. The major highlight in my refusal you are not talking about, the fact that they said my GtB bank is showing I spend over 60m in a month. Which is a glitch. Also note I have travelled to 3 countries this year alone which are A list countries. |

Many things you stated here are wrong. 1) this is my GtB account. I submitted 3 banks. I submitted My business acc with business name, I submitted zenith acc which is for my salary and I submitted GtB. 2) I didn’t just play with figures. Pls. I own a well reputable business in Nigeria here, I submitted even my newspaper publications. Tax clearances, my shop address, business partners letters. My Instagram pages . 3) How is the eco right by saying I used 65 million within 6 months? Pls did you read my complaint at all? No such money has entered my account within 6 month! I mean my GtB acc which he claims! That figure is a glitch from GtB, they ought to give me figure within 6 month and not my over credit and debt amount! Pls take your time |

davodyguy: Before reading your letter to address your refusal reason, firstly, the bank statement is for 6 months and not from the year you opened the account. It's clearly stated in the image you shared, except if GTB has a glitch Thanks for your response, GtB had a glitch, cause I don’t make such within 6 month, I didn’t tamper with my statement, I requested this evening for my statement of account, they made same glitch again . |

Good Evening House, I have been following the thread before submitting my UK tourist visa application, unfortunately I just got my refusal letter this evening. The total debit and credit amount stated in my GtB bank statement I believe is the figure complied since I Opened this account years back and not just for 6 months- how could I have spent 50+ millions in 6 months! Where would I get such money. Also what documents were they expecting to submitting again to prove my total yearly annual income for my business, after submitting tax and all. I have attached my refusal letter and GtB bank statement summary that I submitted.
