After delays, this is to say my item was picked up two days ago in Lagos and sent to my client on my behalf to Port-Harcourt by Jimmy. Thanks to Jimmy and Lagtech for that.

My client has received the laptop and complained that the DVD drive is messed up. She said it doesn't come out when pressed or flies out completely or something something.

I never had the chance to see the item in the first place since am not based in Lagos and Jimmy doesn't like opening people's item to help check status. That's what he told me.

I could only apologize and ask her to look for an engineer there in PH to help check it out and let me know what it costs to fix it.

She said she will do that, but still said she is very disappointed about the whole thing, especially that her laptop took extra weeks in delays to be delivered. And she was not impressed that she got a HP nc6400 60 GB HDD Fingerprint bla bla bla when what I advertised to her was a HP nc8230 Pentium M, 40 GB HDD yada yada.

She didn't appreciate the "upgrade".

That would be my first business here.

Let us all stop requesting for Lagtech address, it is very wrong. It is easy to buy a virtual address, or use a friend's or relative address in the USA. I have said my own O.

I struggle to understand what you mean by "Let us all stop requesting for Lagtech address". To the best of my understanding Lagtech is in the business of procurement which involves people making purchase on a website of their choice and getting the U.S seller to send to Lagtech OR him (Lagtech) selling from his inventory and shipping to Nigeria. Either way, he charges some fees and earn a decent income from doing so.

So if it is wrong to request Lagtech's address, where will people making the purchase send their items to if they want Lagtech to handle their packaging and shipping to Nigeria.

You mentioned virtual address or friend/relatives assistance. Know this: I have a Maryland U.S virtual office address and have a family in Atlanta, Georgia. Also two bosom friends in St. Louis, Missourri and Tennessee and first cousin in New York.

Does that automatically mean they will all willingly leave their affairs and package my goods and go to Post Office/Cargo company EVERY SINGLE TIME I buy a second-hand laptop?

How to replace damaged LCD screen on a Compaq Presario CQ56 and HP G56 laptops.

Compaq Presario CQ56 abd HP G56 are similar models with different names.

As you see, in the LCD was cracked badly.


Before you start, make sure the computer is turned off.

STEP 1.

Unlock and remove the laptop battery.

STEP 2.

Using a sharp object remove one screw cover located in the lower left corner of the display bezel.

STEP 3.

Remove one more cover located in the lower right corner of the bezel.

STEP 4.

Now remove both screws found under those covers.

You’ll have to use a very small Phillips screwdriver.

The screwdriver will not engage the screw at the correct angle but it’s still possible to remove the screw.

STEP 5.

Carefully insert your fingers under the bezel on the top of the display.

Wiggle the bezel to separate it from the display cover.

STEP 6.

You can use a guitar pick to separate the bezel.

STEP 7.

Continue separating the bezel on the top and bottom sides of the display assembly.

STEP 8.

The screen bezel has been removed from the display assembly.

STEP 9.

Remove two screws securing the LCD mounting brackets on the top side of the display assembly.

STEP 10.

Loosen (do not remove completely) screws secufing the left display hinge.

STEP 11.

Loosen screws securing the right display hinge.

STEP 12.

Separate the LCD assembly from the display back cover just enough to access two screws on the side.

Remove two screws from the right mounting bracket.

STEP 13.

Remove two more screws from the left mounting bracket.

STEP 14.

Separate the LCD from the display back cover and place it the front side down on the keyboard.

STEP 15.

Now you can access the display cable on the back.

Remove clear tape securing the connection.

STEP 16.

Unplug the display cable.

STEP 17.

Now you can remove the damaged LCD screen completely and replace it with a new one.

Assemble the laptop following all disassembly steps in the reverse direction.

You can find a new replacement screen using the original model number.

The model number printed on the back side.

In my Compaq Presario CQ56 I had the following screen installed: LP156WH2 (TL)(QB).

This a positive development Lagtech. I would like to suggest the following towards development of us non-engineers who are in the agency business:

1. Contact this InsideMyLaptop.com guy. Ask if he has a complete A-Z video tutorial versions of his guides on repairing laptops. Everything. If he does, rap him up on how much he sells or will sell to you.
