This landslide of thoughts and emotions that carry me away from you
I snatch time from the tick tocks to stop myself

But the clock refuses to move in reverse
So I could rehearse the words that needed to be said

But time runs on a pace much faster than I
And so I no longer stand by you
And it seems futile to unlock these thick layers of misery that guard you
Because you hold on to it as if there were treasures intertwined in the pain that bind you
If I offered you freedom you would claim it to be disdained affection
So all the same I couldn’t offer you love if it is what would save you from your afflictions
All I can do is follow the current and let the waves wash me upon the shores of love’s delightful addictions
