Angola 2010: Obasi in, Eneramo out

By Agency Reporter, Published: Monday, 4 Jan 2010

It has now been confirmed that Hoffenheim of Germany forward Chinedu Obasi has made the final list of Super Eagles players for 2010 African Cup of Nations starting next week in Angola.

Obasi was earlier put on standby to replace Obafemi Martins should the later fail to attain full fitness. But with the Eagles doctors certifying Martins fit Obasi was reportedly dropped.

However, the final Eagles team list submitted by the Nigeria Football Federation to Confederation of African Football revealed that Obasi finally made the team at the expense of Tunisia-based Mike Enaramo.

It was not clear why Obasi was finally selected but it might not have been unconnected with the solid performance he reportedly put up in the Eagles friendly match with a South African Division One clubside Thanda Royal on Sunday.

I stumbled on the news on Channels Television this evening.

Well, I will say that it is good omen for Nigeria that Obasi made the final list but one thing is clear to me
now that Amodu simply does not really know what he is doing he is simply a blind gambler.

We have four defensive midfielders in Sani Keita, Seyi Olofinjana, Dickson Etuhu and Yusuf Ayila, what do we need four
defensive mildfielders for? Are we going to the competition to do all defending? at least the Sani Kaita in my opinion
could have been dropped to accommodate one extra striker in Eneramo because the surely deserves to make the final list just like Obasi did.

Am yet to read from any of the Amodu faithfuls on his unstable (kalokalo) team selection attitude, maybe its also part of the attribute of being a great coach that
will go and win not only the nation's cup but the world cup for Nigeria. cheesy
