lets talk about the five pillars of Islam and other issues .as we go on they will be discussed .
issues like Hijabs, marriages, divorce and so on . .
starting with the five pillars .i'll first of all go for the five daily prayers .
Re: Islamic Talk: by mukina2: 9:41pm On Feb 10, 2007
The five daily prayers are as follows

Fajr (pre-dawn)consists of 2 rakas
Zhur(noon) consists of 4 rakas
Asr(afternoon) consists 4 rakas
Magreb( sunset) consists of 3 rakas
Isha(evening) consists of 4 rakas

before praying an ablution is performed .this is done to purify the body before praying
.the mind should be clear of all evil and bad thoughts,
in everything always remember that Allah comes first

1. To yourself, say "Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem" (In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful).
2. Wash your hands three times, making sure the water reaches between the fingers and all over the hands.
3. Bring a handful of water to your mouth and rinse it thoroughly three times.
4. Sniff water into your nose three times to clean it. Use your right hand to bring up the water, and your left hand to expel it.
5. Wash your entire face three times.
6. Wash your arms, up to the elbows, three times. Start with the right.
7. Use your wet hands to wipe over your head once, from front to back and front again.
8. Use your wet fingers to wipe the inside and outside of your ears, once.
9. Wash your feet up to the ankles three times. Start with the right.
10. Dry off.
11. Make the supplication,"Ashhadu anlaa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareekalahu, washhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasooluhu (I witness that none should be worshipped except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger).

in the case where there is no water dry sand or clean dust can be used to perfom tayamum .

steps for tayammum .
1, to yourself again say "Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem" (In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful).

2 use both of your hands ,flatten them and touch the dust/sand . .gently hit them together to get rid of excess sand/dust rub this on hands and face

3Make the supplication,"Ashhadu anlaa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareekalahu, washhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasooluhu (I witness that none should be worshipped except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger).

after which you proceed to pray .most muslim youth do not know how to pray .but no one is prefect we all learn from each other
Re: Islamic Talk: by mukina2: 9:57pm On Feb 10, 2007
some of us ask so many questions about what nullifes our wudu . or ablution .
i have tried to highlighted some .but if i dnt get all correct .anyone can correct me . smiley

(1) Anything coming out of the Anus or penis/vagina such as urine, feaces or gas etc.

1(2) A person falling sound Sleep

(3) Becoming Unconscious - insanity or fainting or intoxication

(4) Touching the Uncovered Private Parts

(5) Touching a Woman which leads to prostatic fluid or semen being emitted. A man can touch, kiss and hug his wife and his wudhu will still be valid. It will only break if these actions lead to the emmision of prostatic fluid or semen.

also some factors that makes a person unclean for prayer , in most cases .women are the ones in the category .ie .menstruation and post-partum bleeding
in this case Ghusl or a bath to purify the body is done before the person can start praying . .if men have sexual relations with their wives a bath is also necessary

steps to perform Ghusl

1, Intention inside ones heart not verbal.

2 Say Bismillah

3Wash the right hand up to and including the wrists. Make sure to while rub and rub between the fingers of the hand. And thus make sure no part of the hand is left dry. three times then do the same with the left hand. (also three times)

4 washoff the impurities (off the private parts)

5 Wash the right hand up to and including the wrists. Make sure to while rub and rub between the fingers of the hand. And thus make sure no part of the hand is left dry. Three times then do the same with the left hand. (also three times)

6 make a cup the right hand then from this hand take water into your mouth and swirl it inside the mouth and then expel out of mouth. then sniff remaining water from the cupped right hand and sniff water into the nose and then blow the water out and using the left hand remove the water from your nose. Do this three times

7 Wash the face three times, from the hairline to the jawbone and chin, and from start of the ear to start of the ear

A man should wash the hair of his beard by taking a handful of water and entering it below his chin and rubbing it through his beard and passing the wet fingers through the beard.

8 Wash the right arm up to and including the elbow. Three times.
the arm extends from the fingertips, including the nails, to the lower part of the upper arm. It is essential to remove anything stuck to the hands before washing them, such as dough, mud, paint, nail polish etc, that could prevent the water from reaching the skin.
Do the same with the LEFT ARM . Three times

9 Pour water over the head Three times down to the roots of the hairs. rubbing the roots of the hair with the wet fingers

10 Pour water liberally over the entire body, beginning with the right side and then the left side and rubbing the body with hands. Ensuring that no part of the body is untouched by water

11 move away from area were you did ghusl and Wash the right feet up to and including the ankles, three times,

You should enter the water between the toes with your little finger and then wash the feet (note not wipe feet but wash them) and make sure and make sure you wash the sole of the foot and the heals. Make sure no parts of the foot is left dry

Wash the left foot same as the right foot. Three times

Then say the following Duas for Wudhu when outside the bathroom (if bathroom has a toilet inside it)

Ashhadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasooluhu.

( I bear witness that there is no god except Allaah alone, with no partner or associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.)

Allaahumm aj’alni min al-tawwaabeena waj’alni min al-mutatahhireena

( O Allaah, make me one of those who repent and make me one of those who purify themselves)
Re: Islamic Talk: by mukina2: 10:00pm On Feb 11, 2007
With Ablution complete you can now proceed to pray .
first of all you have to face the Qibla .that is you have to turn directly where you can face the Holy Ka'ba

1 Make sure your body and place of prayer are clean. Make the intention to perform
your obligatory prayer.

2 Standing, raise hands up and say "Allahu Akbar" (God is Most Great).

3 Standing with hands folded over chest, recite the first chapter of the Qur'an in Arabic.
Then recite any other verses of the Qur'an that you would like.

4 Raise hands up, saying "Allahu Akbar." Bow, reciting three times, "Subhana rabbiyal adheem" (Glory be to my Lord Almighty).

5 Rise to standing while reciting "Sam'i Allahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa lakal hamd" (God hears those who call upon Him; Our Lord, praise be to You).

6 Raise hands up, saying "Allahu Akbar." Prostrate on the ground, reciting three times "Subhana Rabbiyal A'ala" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High).

7 Rise to a sitting position, saying "Allahu Akbar." Prostrate again in the same manner.

8 Rise to a standing position, saying "Allahu Akbar."
This concludes one "rak'a" (cycle or unit of prayer). Begin again from Step 3 for the second rak'a.

9 After two rak'as, one remains sitting after the prostrations and recites the first part of the Tashahhud in Arabic.

10 If the prayer is to be longer than these two rak'as, one now stands up and begins again to complete the prayer, sitting again after all rak'as have been completed.

11 Recite the second part of the Tashahhud in Arabic.

12 Turn to the right and say "Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah" (Peace be upon you and God's blessings).

13 Turn to the left and repeat the greeting.

salam sister mukina,

May Allah in His infinite mercy continue to guard, protect you and as you continue sharing the good message of ISLAM. May you never see any problem that will be too much for you to bear thereby compelling you to ignore ISLAM.

I am very happy with this thread and am very sure, it will go a long way to enlighten some muslims that do not know anything about their religion.

Also this particular thread will go a long way in shedding light on the misconceptions people are having towards ISLAM.

Jazha Khullah Khairan

Maa Salam

Re: Islamic Talk: by mrpataki(m): 4:51pm On Feb 12, 2007
@ Belloti,
My question is, would she be allowed to spread the word effectively in your congregational meetings as you are encouraging her to do here on the internet?

@ blabs 787,
You mean my question should be ignored here? Yet you cry foul of such in various topics here. Ok answer this simple question. In Islam, would Mukina be encouraged to shed more light on Islam in your congregational meetings as she is been encouraged to do such here on the internet?

Lets see whether your curse can actually leave you now?

So in a nutshell, go and find out before posting unreasonable questions.

Now pataki, since I have answered you, let me ask you this question

Christians are very familair with muslims mode of worship, Please I want to know how christians worship God.

And secondly how Christians worship God as written in the Bible.

blabs787,
You have not answered my question here! For ease of reference, here it is again.

My question is, would she be allowed to spread the word effectively in your congregational meetings as you are encouraging her to do here on the internet?

I answered you the way question was thrown. You know very well that its not allowed in congregational prayers.

So I will leave you with a verse from your bible

1st Corinthians 14v34: The women should keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says. If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

Hope you have seen the above. Please dont forget my questions too.

Quoting the Bible in Islam Talk, no worries.

Meanwhile, where is the Qur'anic verse for your own persuasion? Was there none so that you had to quote the Bible?

If you were involved in all activities as a female, why is it that most Muslims do not allow a muslimah (muslim woman) any activity in the mosque?

women do take part in activities in the mosque .they preach .and recite verses from the Quran .ii use to do that too .especailly when their was an occation at the mosque like during ramadan also .there are lectures throughout cheesy

@bindex or winex

take it elsewhere .if you aint got nothing nice to say then dont say nothing angry tongue

@mukina2,

mukina2:

shaitan cheesy has per your question .its imply because women expereince things that make them unclean from time to time . .ie .mensturation and so on . .

I don't think that a woman's menstruation has got anything to do with preventing her from participating in the mosque - and it is common knowledge that women generally are not permitted to take active roles in Muslim gatherings.

On the one hand, your answer intimates that women are indeed not allowed active roles in mosques - because they experience "things that make them unclean from time to time". Then on the other hand, you contradicted this by saying that "women do take part in activities in the mosque." Is there something missing in your reply?

mukina2:

women do take part in activities in the mosque .they preach .and recite verses from the Quran .ii use to do that too .especailly when their was an occation at the mosque like during ramadan also .there are lectures throughout

Jokes aside, could you please name how many mosques in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon women actually preach in mosques?

I'm not trying to prove you wrong on anything; but in this Islamic Talk thread, it would be helpful to enunciate issues so that the reader doesn't come away with mere claims.
Re: Islamic Talk: by mukina2: 2:59pm On Feb 15, 2007
Madam shaitan

mensturation has everything to do with a woman when it concerns masjids .
a mesturating girl/woman does not enter a masjid .does not pray until its over and she has taken a complete bath .

According to the Shari’ah it is not required to have a partition, neither of temporary nor of permanent nature, between men and women in the Masjid.
you see its just that some extremist makes it all sound bad but even sharia law permits that a man and women can pray together

all those countries you mentioned are sharia governed and are full of extremists . women are allowed to participate in religious activies .like for example during ramamdan .before the breakinf of fast .there's this haja maimouna that recites the Holy Quran  at the central mosque whichd is aired live on tv .she also preaches in the mosque

In morrocco women are allowed to preach .yemen too
very soon other countries will emulate that .saudi  and others will try that too we shall see .

as for the countries you listed because of  extremists .women are now being given  a chance in islam .

before youfgo there i am not living in sharia and have never lived in a sharia governed country .but i know that sharia does not place a ban on women its the extremists that do .to them women are just secondary people .waiting in the back
Islam is changing .

anyways we are going off-topic here . .i dnt want the vultures to come here . .
because they will turn this whole thread into something else . .

Am asking you based on the fact that muslims worship Allah through Solah, which of the act in christianity do we hold as being the mode of worship (ie the singing and praising stuff).

Or put in another way, you tell me how you worship him in spirit giving me one of your church doings that one can hold on to.

I also asked you to provide biblical verse supporting your mode of worship.

We all know that God is spirit so dont give me that one you. Se you hear me my very good friend.
