What a massively over-hyped movie! i just watched it and i'm like so what's the big deal? someone just re-wrote pocahontas and made it slightly more adult oriented and there i was thinking i was watching a classic.anyone think so too?

lol funny enough i hated pocahontas as a child. probably the only disney classic i didn't enjoy.

pocahontas was good - why didnt you like it?

it was based on a true story, like some other disney movies.

i actually read up on pocahontas after watching it. Very sad to know she didnt end up with John in real life.

She didn't in the cartoon either. If you really think Avatar is overrated, you may still be biased by your childhood crush on Pokey baby. Blue is d new brown!

^^ in the cartoon, John smith left for England, and there was hope he'd still return so they could continue the budding love affair.

i havent watched part 2 yet.

@jonesparke
James Cameron's Avatar is no way related to the cartoon TV series "Avatar: The Last Airbender".
The movie based on the cartoon will be called "The Last Airbender" and its directed by M. Night Shyamalan. It will be in theaters July 2nd 2010.

lol the answer is quite funny really. if i remember correctly, i was about six or seven years old and i wanted to either watch something else or play a video game(can't remember which) but my siblings insisted on watchin pocahontas so in a final act of revenge i refused to enjoy the movie! lol
Re: Avatar by Nobody: 8:15am On Feb 25, 2010
^^ you should watch it again wink

its history + animation + good storytelling all rolled into one.

**I've never heard anyone say they didnt like it, actually**

@tpia
Is that your picture? Not bad.

@topic
My point is, If "Avatar" sucked so much, why is it still strong in the box office? Even if a movie sucks, it can't sell more than $200 million even if its over-hyped.

^^coz people have the impression that it is so good.i myself bought it so its like askin me y i bought it and the answer would be-i thought t was a good movie until i watched it. i actually get the sense that people feel compelled to buy it and to like it cuz of the media frenzy surrounding the movie.
