I am really disappointed in you, you sounded matured earlier on in this thread but now u have proved yourself to be a real minor just as chiefoh said. Picking on the guy and tarnishing his name for no reason, he was bold enough to do something no one else has done, what can u boast of? saw chiefoh's picture and he's really cute, u are not confident enough to even put your own picture on your profile, .

Be a protagonist rather than an antagonist!!!!

@ChieFoh, chairman, i'm still not covinced. Yab me all you want but people on this board would appreciate your proving them wrong. Since you're a dare devil, i'm sure you wont mind giving us video coverage (most phones shoot video now, so no excuse). We need shots of you standing by the "car" in question, you accelerating from 0 to 300kmph, a sideways shot of you overtaking other cars and finally, a shot of the radiator overheating at 80kmph grin

Since it seems you know a lot about cars, you should know that it is damn easy to tinker with your speedometer. I'm only saying that because i've done it before cool Today's election day, you have till Monday to post the picture. Since you've done it before, it should be a walk in the park for you since you're now experienced, abi i lie? Its only when i've seen these things that i will pay homage to you!

I'm waiting o ,

Ife9ja and Thiefoh

I have been in the game a long time and there are simple ways i know for a fact that he is lying. First of all dude has his vehicles mixed up. I am not questioning whether or not he is other name is stuntmaster, all i know is that the pictures and the event on third mainland bridge do not add up. Very simple! You are defending what is clearly a Lie.

When you are in a hole, you need to stop digging!! You guys might know each other and are trying to make light from darkness here. I guarantee you that dude is lying and i can fly to the OC to prove it. There are a lot of speed freaks out there in Sunny California, this dude ain't nothing but a sorry a$$ liar!!

I agree with Chiefoh that this forum is for sharing experiences but you should also realise that your experience is pretty hard to swallow. You dont need to proove anything to us but at the same time, you dont need o be cursing either. I personally cant do 300kmph on 3rd mainland but when i hear someone else do it, i'd love to see it with me own eyes mate!

Although, my not being able to do it doesnt mean somebody like yourself cant so i'm still waiting to see the video footage sha. grin

Guys!

The dashboard is definately that of a BM.

If that BM actually did that speed, I don't think so.

But I know some guys that do topspeeds on bikes and still take pictures. So it should be possible in a car.
Re: Hit 300km/hr On 3rd Mainland Bridge With My Maxima, (check D Pic Out) by Nobody: 11:57pm On May 14, 2007
you guys should look at the dash board properly the numbers have been doctored

start counting from 20 , 40 , 100 km/h then after that he doctored it to show 300km/hr
cos of regulation most family size car dont go beyond 220 - 240 km/hr and rare cases 260km except special speed demons that are of cos 280km/hr
but for a maxima i doubt if it is more than 240 after all it is japanese , why i say japanese is that most japs cars start vibrating once u get to 120km/hr

u would feel it while u drive that the car has become light ur heart would definitely fail you to go beyond 160km/hr.

the highest speed i have done with a jap car is 160km/hr most times am more comfortable with 140km/hr especially when am on an accord or a 626

i have done 180km/200 km on a bmw 5 series all wind up and i did not realise i was driving 180km until i looked at my speedometer. but mind u, u cant do such speed on 3rd mainland except on the interstate - i did this speed btw enugu - ph high way

after my car almost tumble while i was doing 100km btw owerri ph road i rarely go beyound 120 km max.

speed kills until it happens to u - u would continue to think ur invincible

expert driving skills is not in speed it is in the feel- feel the car enjoy the ride u would live to drive tomoro
Re: Hit 300km/hr On 3rd Mainland Bridge With My Maxima, (check D Pic Out) by maxpecas(m): 2:01am On May 15, 2007
If in fact, he did take this picture wink my question is where were was his other hand while one held the camera? from the angle of picture he took the picture with his right hand. meaning that his left hand was on the lower left hand side of the wheel - a likely position to place your hand if you're wind whipping on the TMB at 300 clicks per hour.

we can forget the fact that your sister took the picture, since she was so scared shitless, her hands would never been steady enough to take the picture.

Chief, it is time to come clean. promise we wont be mad, just want to hear the truth.

my own take in all these is that chiefooh was probably trying to be funny by posting the thread, we should just have seen it as a joke and play along with him and pull his legs. but i am definitely not confortable with people that abuse others in nairaland. i have seen worse, posts i just laugh  them off and see them for what they are- jokes

NA WA OOO!PLEASE GIVE THIS GUY A CHANCE TO PROVE HIMSELF NOW.A STUNTSMAN CAN ALSO ORIGINATE FROM NAIJA.AND HE HAS EXPLAINED Y THE DASHBOARD IS LIKE THAT NOW.ABI AM SURE YOU HAVE HEARD OF love-vendor MY RIDE WHICH IS EVEN AVAILABLE IN NAIJA NOW.

THINK THE REASON THE PICTURE IS VERY EMPTYLIKE IS COS OF THE FEAR OF THE PERSON THAT TOOK IT.U CANT BE AT THAT SPEED AND STILL BE LOOKING FOR A GOOD CAPTURE.AM SURE THIS IS THE BEST OF THE SERIES U TOOK ON THE RIDE ABI?

THINK I BELEIVE YOU BRO.

BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL OOOO!!!!!

THIRD MAINLAND IS NOT SMOOTH OOOOO!!!!!

@ lush
what bmw do u have that is giving u blurry vision at 120km/hr on on 3rd mainland bridge? gush! 1982 3181 or what?    my '92 skirach sef used to do 180 pepperless on eko bridge not to talk of 3rd mainland. . .  speed demon ko, speed angel ni. . . Man change your car!!! your a baby in racing.

of which don't tell me it was u i met last saturday eve on 3rd mainland bridge after election trying to get even with my nissan with one tartared 3 series? go back and play crazy cars III on sega or family korp before  you come compete with the grandmasters on the real terrain.

@forum
my nissan is customized thats why the dials look like that, i bought it off some crazy chinese guy  and shipped it in last year, it's a eight cylinder (v8) fuel injected, turbocharged nissan engine. producing 310 brake horsepower and has a crankshaft initial speed of 2600 RPM. thats why i can hit crazy speeds effortlessly, and my alignment is standard thanks to pirelli tyres and alignment on awolowo road, that why i can take clear pictures with much stabilty and remember there were two of us in the car.

I am not fascinated by japanese cars.  The frame of that vehicle cannot hold a V8.  When a vehicle is designed, advance kinetics, dynamics and vibrational analysis is put to test and performance is optimised.  This also has to do with relative motion of the vehicle in relation to translational axes at high speeds for it's intended performance.  If you fitted a V8, without this principles in place, you have a sloppy car as far as I am concerned.  It'll take a lot of vibrational analysis and differentials to tame that engine to work in unity with the chassis at all speeds (and not just at idle).  That is not business for kids.  It is research, time consuming and money.  Also, you don't neglect heat distribution and discipation.

One of the jokes it that this vehicle is a front wheel drive.  Please you are going to tell me the V8 engine that is FWD.  I am majoring in Design Engineering, a member of the SAE and currently building with my team an F1 race car for a motosport contest. It's been built from scratch so I know what I am talking about.  A V8 with an FF engine configuration is a joke marinated with ignorance.  I will like to know a production or race car with FF layout, please.  There will be so much torque steer you'll be switching lanes as you wrestle with the steering down the freeway.  So, taking out a cell phone to take a still-picture your 6000RPM on your Maxima is completely impossible.  I don't know the cars released today nor what they offer but the principles in building a car, performance, control systems and other areas is what my discipline is.

Sure enough, Mine's don't make V8's for Maxima's.  They invest in the Skylines (of which I believe are 6 cyl).
Re: Hit 300km/hr On 3rd Mainland Bridge With My Maxima, (check D Pic Out) by Nobody: 1:18am On Oct 06, 2007
Blimey, the stuff some folk come up with. . .

I run Delta performance Solutions in the UK, specialising in bespoke performance upgrades, for Audi and VW cars.

Most of my clients are speed freaks, and I myself regularly attend track days, I run a 2001 Audi RS6+. An RS6+ is a 4.2 V8 Biturbo, and produces 480 horsepower in stock form, and a hell of a lot of torque too! Mine's modified too, and produces 520 horsepower, and 455 ft-lbs torque.

Myself and other members of Club Audi UK drove down to Ingolstadt, Germany in March this year, and on the unrestricted section of the Autobahn, we went for it.

Over a 6 mile stretch, with my foot to the floor, the best I got out of my car was a GPS-verified 188 mph. And this guy's telling me a Maxima, which "apparently" has a 310 horsepower engine, and is nowhere near as aerodynamic as the Audi RS6 hit speeds of 185 mph?  How?  shocked

Ok, let's assume the Maxima had very tall gearing, and a minimum of 18 inch wheels to raise the gearing further, it still requires a hell of a lot of torque to push a car as boxy as a Maxima through the air at speeds above 150 mph! I haven't driven over Third Mainland, but from all accounts, it's not the smoothest, or straightest of routes to blast down at speeds you're describing here! The car would probably be virtually airborne, regardless of the suspension type fitted.

The picture of the "BMW" instrument cluster was taken from a dead straight angle, where the hell was the driver at this time? Was he sitting at the rear?

If you were driving at speeds over 100 mph on such an uneven surface, with your sister in the car, you must really dislike her, seeing as you were trying to kill her! What goon takes a hand off the wheel at the speeds you're boasting about, grabs a camera, get's it dead steady and straight, and takes a perfect shot?  shocked

The only way your Maxima would "indicate" speeds of 185 mph, would be if the rear of the car was raised, and the car was run through the gears, that way there'd be no load whatsoever on the transmission. Even then, an unloaded transmission spinning at that speed would expire!

A V8 engine in the Maxima? I doubt the front chassis rails are wide enough to accommodate a 90-degree V8, and as for the frame absorbing the amount of torque required to push the fairly blunt bodyshell to 185 mph, it's not happening. When you choose to post such daft lies on a public forum, remember there are members with a fair amount of mechanical knowledge that are prepared to pick holes in your tales! Even an idiot child can read the mess you call a brain!  angry

Lastly, for the sake of comparison, here's a late BMW instrument cluster, the same as the one you claim is a Nissan Maxima unit!

@ Chief: Due to legislation, production car speedos are designed to over read. At about 40 mph indicated speed, most cars are doing an actual speed of between 32 - 36 mph. The error margin increases with speed - it's not uncommon for a car to indicate 150 mph, but actual speed can be as low as 136 mph.

The error margin on your Maxima must be massive, to indicate 185 mph.
Re: Hit 300km/hr On 3rd Mainland Bridge With My Maxima, (check D Pic Out) by Ivvie: 5:25pm On Oct 06, 2007
Running a Maxima through a dyno still will not output 300Km/h. Many car components would have given up due to several laws of meterial mechanics. It's a $20,000 car built with the intention of taking its owner from point A to B. The biggest '06 Ford truck (Expedition) has a big V8 engine and it's built with no intention of being efficient with resources and engine management. Yet, at 95mph, it's out of breath. At that point, pushing the pedal fulfills the "law of diminishing returns." It's also floaty at high speeds. Some people are still yet to understand the concept of auto design. Imagination is far from reality in this field. Sometimes, field analysis tests differ from what has been partially differentiated and simulated.

the guy is just one of the jokers of nairaland. i don't know so much about cars but at 300km/h , i would assume that there is NO car on the bridge. The lenght of this bridge is 11.8km

so at 300km/hr , he would have completed the bridge lenght in (11.8/300)hrs=0.039333hrs

this is equal to 2.4 minutes.

I think you must believe we are all mugus, 2 yrs ago i drove a v8 twin turbo charged audi v8 on 3rd mainland bridge, the highest i could attain before the car almost left the road was about 180km/hr, and this was because of several reasons, a) there was traffic, and this was on a sunday! b) the road surface was uneven, causing the car to lurch wildly!. so my guy, tell us something else.
