Heck I had to repost the whole thing here. I'll follow up with pictures.

This is the BIBLE of the REAL Nigeria.

People go to church and crusades but refuse to repent and change. Isn't it easier to change and do the right thing than waste time praying to a God who hates sin

Another catchy quote:

Then at the Cameroon Consulate in Calabar, which Migo and I visited to secure Cameroon visas for $150 USD, the highest fee yet, I saw lots of white people. They were part of a British-led tour group that had passed through Nigeria on a northerly route, through the capital of Abuja and south to Calabar. I asked the leader how the traffic was up north.

“Horrible …just horrible,” he told me. “Freaking Nigerians, they’re the worst drivers in the world!”

It wasn’t just the highways and cities of Nigeria that didn’t make sense. The whole country was a knot of contradictions -- upside down and inside out, like the black and white negative of an old Kodak filmstrip. Nigeria is crisscrossed by more power lines than a Godzilla movie, yet electric service is sporadic across the nation. It is Africa’s largest oil-producing nation, yet fuel stations were often empty of gasoline and diesel and kerosene, or jammed with long queues of waiting vehicles.

Everyone on here seems to not disprove the article. It has left me wondering what the reaction would have been if the BBC made this into another documentary,

If the man makes it a point of duty to go over and over the same crap in a derogatory way, then we will face him squarely. BBC has won itself nothing but scorn with their "African" obsession. I can spot a racist from 10 miles away.

Wait until the 'Nigerian Patriots' come on board and you'll see how they'll turn it into home-base vs diaspora debate. Then, they'll begin to prove that Nigerians in diaspora only complain because they dont love Nigeria.

The fact is we will never make any real progress until we tell ourselves the TRUTH.

Well said, but a lot of us are not ready for that truth. Thats why you have some people pointing fingers at everyone except themselves.

There is so much disorganisation, hence if you offer some semblance of order, people would pay a fortune for it.
That's what the Eko Atlantic City is about. The initiators of the project see an opportunity to offer an oasis of order in the midst of all the chaos.
All the lovers of order would spend a fortune to live in the orderly new city.

Seeing Nigeria for what it is could be relative. One person(Optimist) sees a cup half full, the other person(Pessimist) sees it half empty.

I agree with u on this point.

Eko Atlantic City would be an oasis of normalty in disorganise Nigeria. Even though 99% of us will not be able to live there, it would be something to savour, and boast to the world that we have a first class city compared to the best on any part of the world. This will bring a degree of satisfaction even to the poorest Nigerians when discuss of the prevalent squalour and filth is talked about. I don't suppose the poor will need a visa to go their hence it being ours as the poor will man the bars, the hotel lobbies and be cooks in the luxurious flats built there. There would be house boys and house girls, gate men and porters to tend and pamper their bosses every wish.

The new city will be a healthy juxtaposition of the down and trodden living with the high and mighty, albeit the down and trodden occupying the boys quarte's and other servant abodes. The city will not funtion properly with a strata of society going it alone, both the poor and rich will have to work in unison and I am sure both are looking forward to this development with anticipation of something unusual and spectacular.

Nigeria in general and Lagos especially surely needs Eko Atlantic City.

While a REALIST will just see things as they really are, rather than creating FANTASTIC PICTURES OF REALITY(as is the case with many of our African Optimists), or weaving DOOMED images of REALITY(as our dear African Pessimists are prone to doing). Seeing things are they really appear helps one better come up with solutions that are not only lasting but benefit all in most all cases.

The problem is a white man sticks out like a sore thumb in Nigeria. Nigeria should be proud of its uniqueness in Africa where the Nigerian runs everything from small scale businesses to large scale conglomerate like Dangote Industries, the same cannot be said of a lot of African countries.

The Chinese are involve in petty retailing in Ghana and Cameroon but not in Naija we should be proud of our independence, ours is a proper independence and not some neo-colonial outpost to Brits, Chinese, sysrians, Lebanese OR Indians

Yeah right, like you have never looked out for fellow blacks when you find yourself surrounded by folks of other races . . . jeeezzz!!! Even people who go to china do that!! Now it is wrong for the dude to do that while in NIgeria? undecided

1. No i dont. I lived a full 4 yrs knowing only one or two black folks and it made no difference to me.

2. The dude isnt simply looking around for whites, his tone suggests he would find it ludicrous to find "higher intelligent human species" like whites among disorganised, chaotic, lower animals like us.
