Arsenal (Possible, 4-2-3-1): Almunia; Eboué, Squillaci, Koscielny, Clichy; Song, Wilshere; Arshavin, Fabregas, Nasri; Chamakh.

Birmingham (Possible, 4-5-1): Foster; Carr, Johnson, Dann, Ridgewell, Larsson, Ferguson, Hleb, Bowyer, Fahey, Jerome.

Referee: Martin Atkinson.

Tale of the game

Arsenal have failed to win in their last three Premier League games and have lost their last two. A third defeat, following the reverses against West Bromwich Albion and Chelsea, would represent Arsenal’s worst run without a point since April 2007 when they lost to Everton, Liverpool and West Ham.

But Birmingham have failed to beat Arsenal in their last six Premier League meetings, home and away, and overall, they have won there on just four of their 62 League visits, losing 39 and drawing 19. They last won there in October 1957, at Highbury. Since then, in 26 attempts, Birmingham have lost 17 and drawn nine.

Birmingham have scored one goal in their last four Premier League games but five of their seven goals so far have been scored on the road. But the Blues last won away in march at Hull, and have gone eight games without a victory on their travels.

Arsenal could have key players fit. Manuel Almunia should be available after recovering from an elbow problem while Thomas Vermaelen (Achilles) and Cesc Fabregas (hamstring) are also close to returning. But Bacary Sagna, Abou Diaby, Kieran Gibbs, Theo Walcott, Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Frimpong and Aaron Ramsey are also still sidelined.

Birmingham are without James McFadden again while winger Jean Beasusejour has also been ruled out after injuring knee ligaments. But former Arsenal favourite Alex Hleb could return to face his former colleagues.

Last season: Arsenal 3 Birmingham 1, Birmingham 1, Arsenal 1.

Stat of the game: Birmingham are two defeats short of 100 losses in the Premier League.

Let's hope the return of certain key players will give us some momentum, we need to string a series of wins, cos being 7 points behind at this early stage just aint it at all.

now, wenger and his primary school boys have turned their fans into prayer warriors even when they are playing birminham. anyways, if west brom can do such an emirate damage, what more birminham?
pls for those of u ass-nal fans, it is not by force to be a fan especially to trophiless clubs. you can join the moving trains - chelsea or even west brom who have nothing to loose.
if at the end of this season, wenger and his boys refuse to win anything and still in the big four, we will ask them to voluntarily sourrender their position to a more ambitious club.
by the way, how many arsenal players are up for eviction come january and summer winder?

Have you considered that most Arsenal fans are not intelligent people. And Dumb people make a larger percentage of the world population. The fans of arsenal are mainly conductors, mechanics and raving lunatics who revel in failure.

The world(including a certain Dayo) loves The Arsenal
