Another setback for Ibori himself. Nemesis edging closer by the day for Chief Ibori.

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec 06, (THEWILL) – Mr. Bhadresh Gohil, the London lawyer of former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori, today in a Southwark Crown Court pleaded guilty to money laundering and conspiracy charges in a V-Mobile shares fraud.

Bradresh is being tried alongside Chief James Ibori; former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Obong Victor Attah, former Delta State Commissioner for Finance who was also Principal Secretary to late President Yar’Adua, Mr. David Edevbie; a close business associate of Chief Ibori, Mr. Henry Imasekha; Love Jakovo, and two foreign nationals; Lambertus De Boer, and Daniel McCann.

Only McCann and De Boer, who are also facing forgery and counterfeiting charges, were in court at today’s first day of trial. Attah, Edevbie, Imasekha, Ojakovo were not in court and did not have legal representation, a source in court told THEWILL.

They are all accused of conspiracy and theft in the structured sale of Delta State and Akwa Ibom State Government shares in V-Mobile, a mobile telecommunications company which offered GSM mobile services, where about $37m USD was stolen and diverted to a company called African Development Finance Co before funds were disbursed to various firms including an aviation company for the purchase of a jet for Chief Ibori.

Mr. Bradesh had been convicted a few weeks ago alongside Chief Ibori’s wife, Mrs. Nkoyo Ibori on charges of money laundering and conspiracy to commit fraud.

Mr. Bradesh has not been sentenced but remains in custody.

angry WHAT IS HE CALLED,CHIEF JAMES IBORI OR CHEF JAMES IBORI SUBJECTED THE YOUTH OF DELTA STATE TO ABJECT SUFFERING AND PAIN.The whole money he stole was enough to transform Delta State.
IN MY OWN CANDID OPINION,JAMES IBORI SHOULD BE KILLED BY HANGING.
IBORI DOES NOT DESERVE TO LIVE.HE IS SO HEARTLESS.
MY greatest concern is the people of OGHARA that are supporting him after all the evils he caused in Niger Delta-sponsoring youth with the state money to fight FG in the name of militant.
I PRAY HE WILL NOT COMEBACK TO THIS COUNTRY AGAIN UNTIL HE DIES.

In every theft case in Nigeria, there is an accountant in the theft. I just pity James Ibori. The actual master-minder of this transaction was Henry Imashekha but no Nigeria court has ever tried him because he his big and people hail him has "H.I". He is a bloody thief. He has been a financial adviser for years. He advised so many governors during obasanjo's 1st & 2nd tenures. He make those illiterate governors believe that nothing will happen. They belive him and run into troubles.I am glad his name has been mentioned cos he has also ruin some banks like NNB,Oceanic Bank & others.I think ICAN & other accounting bodies should start withdrawing the licenses of fraudulent members including auditing firms in Nigeria.Long live fraudulent accountants!!!

It was known along that Econet couldn't survive with investment from state governments. Another avenue to siphon the states money. Have people ever wondered why Econet that started operations before MTN couldn't compete with MTN. It was because after the initial investment without breaking even the various governors were competing who will withdraw the most. That's why econet could not expand as rapidly as MTN and Glo came from behind and overtook econet. All the board members representing the various states were busy helping themselves to the loot.

ibori should be left alone. We lot of governors, senators and house of reps members who have done worse and are stil doing than what Ibori did. Have you heard of the fraudulent salary scale your house of reps/senators receive monthly. If accumulated monthly for 4months will be enough to construct a mega road network from Lagos-Ibadan, Lagos-Benin.
Thank God we will soon be travelling back to our various villages and we will pass through this route to confirm what I'm saying.

So please leave Ibori alone and let us all concentrate on the few we have left and try and protect it by whistle blowing like Lamido Sanusi and fight against those guyz we call Senators and call them to order. cry lipsrsealed cool shocked sad angry shocked shocked grin wink

These news these days are shocking In actual sense, we should try to go back to our core values in the 70's then we will be able to stratify and outline problems we are facing in this country. Without this done, I only see DOOM!, Yesterday was about Senator's sky-rocking salaries, Today, Uniben and other re-knowned Universities are loosing accreditation, Well, , maybe I could make a guess for tomorrow's headline, "Vice-president's wife Adult-napped sorry Kidnapped" , What a shameless nation bore out of total biological mistake!

We all cry foul of the salary scales of lawmaker but at least it is still debatable. You cannot compare that to a criminal who has snatched billions of Naira meant for his subjects to his selfish end.

Are you talking of private jet. Was privileged to see one of his rigs when it came in for repairs a while ago. You'd be aghast what these fellows do with your money. Can't upload the pictures for obvious reasons. Only life imprisonment or demise will stop these fellows from enjoying their ill-gotten wealth. And our anti-corruption authorities will claim they don't know this and that.
