The Durbar festival popularly known as Hawan Sallah is the celebration of the two annual Muslim festivals, Eid-El-Fitr and Eid-El-Kabir.

The Eid- El-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims all over the world to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, while the Eid-el- Kabir marks the holy pilgrimage (Hajj) and sacrifice.

In this thread, you will find a collection of pictures from the Hausa Durbar.

If I may ask, why do non Hausas start Hausa threads?. Almost every thread about Hausa culture are started and finished by non-Hausas. Is it not a shame unto Hausa people.

I have always been a fan of Hausa culture. They have a rich and colorful history. Too bad, most groups in Southern Nigeria do not know the history and culture of the illustrious Hausa people. As a Pan-Africanist, I show love to all groups.

There are not that many Hausa people on Nairaland, that is why not that many Hausas create threads. If you go to Facebook though, you find many Hausa, Kanuri, and Fulani illustrating the beauty of their culture.

^^^Probably, Ileke Idi will not be bold enough to insult them on facebook. One hell of a bigoted tribalist who gets unbanned within 24 hours of ban. Yet Baskmouth, Mekus and so on like her are banned forever.

ROFL

Yes, but does she create 4 or 5 usernames to spew her tribalism and hide behind another supposedly non-tribalist username?

they all look yoruba. only one of them (younger horse rider) has the stereotypical hausa look.
