South Africa orders Christ Embassy church to stop faith healing ads South Africa’s advertising authority yesterday ordered a Nigerian church to stop making claims on national television that it can treat diseases such AIDS through faith healing.

The ruling was made after anti-AIDS campaigners filed a complaint against Christ Embassy, a charismatic church based in Nigeria, which has paid-for programmes on the private e.tv channel on Sunday mornings featuring people recounting how they have been cured by the church.

“The message that is communicated to the e.tv audiences/viewers is that joining the Christ Embassy or its Healing School, or associating with it or attending its “faith healing sessions” will lead to its Pastor(s) transferring God’s healing powers to anyone who suffers from the list of diseases that are read out or announced in the programme,” the authority said in its ruling.

The church was then ordered to withdraw the advert from the station immediately. More than 10 percent of South Africa’s 50-million strong population is HIV positive.
The Treatment Action Campaign, the country’s main anti-AIDS lobby, said they lodged a complaint after it received a report that a woman with drug resistant tuberculosis, who had made significant progress on her medical treatment, gave up her medication because she believed Christ Embassy had cured her.

“She consequently became ill with XDR TB again and died but only after transmitting the disease to her children.

The fact that a group of people invoked court rule does not stop the programe from holding. The stadium will still overflow. Salvation will still be wrought and miracles will still over flow. Atmoshere for Miracle live is on in lagos presently. After hearing of the amazing miracles for the past 2 weeks it's been on. I took the first Arik flight to lagos. Miracles are taking place In The atmosphere. Even though pastor chris has not started ministering. Any person who doubts the power of God should come in. Make sure you get the ticket .

At the Healing school, the students are not taught to stop their drugs, they are only taught the word of God.
They are taught on how to receive their healing
After they are ministered to, they are encouraged to go back to their doctors to confirm their healing
If there are no changes yet they organize another class for them but their drugs still continues

I was believing that most of the chatters here in NL had been matured enough to read n comprehend the main gist rather than following mere caption.

Every week pastor chris this and that, dont you guys get tired? I love the man. People can talk from now till 2mrw. Afterall they have their own satellite tv to reach the world.

The message has been passed already: God can heal any kind of disease and He has proved it through Pastor Chris.

Whether they believe it or not Pastor Chris is the man chosen by God to do these unususal miracles.

SA is ridden in and out with HIV but they have failed or are failing to see the solution staring them in the face.

Banning the ad does not stop miracle happening neither does it stop God working wonders through Pastor Chris!

A miracle is a supernatural intervention of god
I have seen lots of them including people healed of AIDS
Research for the cure of the virus is still ongoing
But god does not carry out research he does not need to cos he does not function by the ways of man
The ban of the ads does not stop miracles from occurring and does not cause the turn out to the healing school e.t.c to drop
No one not even a government can stop the work of god

Moreso I know first handedly that you are not told to stop taking drugs after the healing sessions but it depends on the faith of the individual

We all have different levels of faith
So what is best for one may not be perfect for the other depending on their faith

Medically we have seen individuals with the HIV virus respond to treatment while some others do not maybe due to the individuals system or the efficacy of the drug involved,e.t.c

But god functions by the faith of the individual .

Why can't majority of CE members understand that when we get reports proven by the justice system that people are dying after receiving such miracles that this immediately stops being about Pastor Chris and the church with their message rather about the proven knowledge that a number of lives are at stake.

We are not here, at least in this posted report talking about Pastor Chris. No, we are talking about the lives of people gone after receiving their healings and that's a proven fact. So the SA government is supposed to stand by and watch as hundreds of people die after such incidents and do nothing because the message is out,God can heal every disease sorry to the one that has just passed away but more are healed.What do you take the people of SA for and its government.Every life is valuable in SA that is why we have the Constitution and human rights to protect every ones right to their constitutional right to life.
If the SA government was against the msg of God being preached do you think it would have allowed many of the Nigerian churches that have sprung up in SA to continue? South Africa is a God loving nation with 3 quarters of the nation registered as christians so the msg of God is something we know and have taken from our fore fathers that lived in this land before us. What the government in SA will always be against is the unnecessary death of human life.
Check the SA history and you notice that its a country that does not tolerate the death of innocent lives long before CE came into the country.

Again, this to SA is not about the Pastor but about stopping any further loss of human lives unnecessarily
