@Knowledge4 all,

Your analysis and the way you pass them across is so heartwarming. Deeply blessed wth your posts so far. Pray, can you advise me and possibly other interested persons herein, the businesses one can invest funds in and likely red flags to watch out for. Am a very busy person with a demanding job, unfortunately their is that need to make more money as the responsibility increases. I hav some funds that i would like to invest in, but not so sure about the kind of business i can invest in plus the character traits of the managers.

Once again, God bless you for your work so far. smiley smiley

@Knowledge
The country need people like you, i mean more of people like you with such intellectual ability and a straight forward solutions to questions asked.

Like i see mostly on Nigerian forums,when people ask for investment ideas, some would start dropping telephone numbers and all sought, lol, my opinion they got nothing to offer but their gsm numbers.

Like you mentioned, Online business is also a way of earning legally, I agree with you totally.
My adventure to the online world of making money is a long one,which is spanning now 4 years and i can tell you ,my investment is less then $150 and i NEVER bought on e-book or crap fomular method.
Today my income from advertising is a minimum of $370 monthly,after i pay for bandwidth consumption and some Paypal fees.
(Mind you i got no Degrees in IT, I just learned in a Cafe in Ikeja,how to browse and upload pictures,today its something else, as i learned everyday something new.)

I use online forums and donwload alot of free tutorials and listen to people,who made it with real proofs and not fake screen shots etc, this is what i used

1. You need a good Internet connection,Broadband and be ready to learn every minute (As am writing this ,ideas coming into my head, i have a Book ,where i write them down and later i would work on them)

2. Google (We call him Big G, this search engine is so powerful, i use it like minimum 50 times a day)

3.Dont be afraid, you dont have the technical skill, you can learn or invest in someone,who got the technical ability and go into a legal agreement , nothing like you investing into an online stuff and 5-10 years later, you are selling shares worldwide.
Watch these films,they are based on  true stories
{The Social Network, Middle men}

4.Never think ,your geographic location is a disadvantage,Never, In cyberspace people are so near , you just think of traffic and not location.

5.Like you mentioned, Are you talented? Got any skills? Then take it digital and let the world know about it, sure you are getting paid for it.

In the nigerian aspect, the use online payment is growing and practically taking over, This is a huge problem and very few people are tackling it but mind you those,who are finding solutions to this Online payment system in Nigeria now, would reap lots of returns in the long run and their generations to come would benefit from their fathers work. (What a legacy to leave for your unborn cheesy)

Lastly, am still in the learning process and earning from it, not millions yet but patience is golden as i've sought a little problem for some Nigerian surfers online.

I hope you find these little article of mine useful.
Cheers

@papiij
You have a demanding job and alwayz very busy.
You need to set up a biz because you need more money as responsibilities are growing.
If you are setting up a business, the owner's personal attention at supervision is very important and you dont have the time.
You can put someone in charge but the red flag in it is that in today's Nigeria, it is extremely difficult to get someone who can represent your interest faithfully. You cannot even trust your own blood brother from the same womb to represent your stake in biz.
You would find out later that you just created a business for someone else.
The business you should do is one that you can monitor closely, or that you can pay attention to in your spare time, or that you can do alone on your own at your convenience.
As busy as you are, do you have saturdays free? If you have it free, i can suggest to you a line of biz that you can invest in but you need to invest your saturdays to learn the technigues that make it work. You will need to invest as many as 20 saturdays. it is not a rush-rush training.
It is a biz you can do on your own at your spare time, either full time or part time but you have to first of all learn how it works in order to be able to do it and do it well.
You are not going to learn from me. I am not going to be your instructor but will refer you to the organisation where you will get the best training.
if your saturdays are not free, may i know what days or time that are free to be able to advise appropriately. Before you invest in any business, either online or offline, you have to learn the nitty gritty of the biz systems before you invest in it. You see, knowledge is one of the greatest assets to bring into business.

Re: Waste Disposal Business by yinkavelli(m): 9:11am On Oct 11, 2012
knowledge4: @yinkavelli,
   If you are willing to work hard,be focussed and patient to see results,you can do good business with the N20k you have if you wont look down on some jobs as too menial. Business is about organizing and mobilizing resources(men,materials and money) to provide solutions.
Scan your environment.there are problems that need solution.Business is about solving problems through solutions

One idea to do with N20k in your Igando environ is House Cleaning Services
Many working class  people are too busy to clean their homes and househelps are rare in the present day.
They need part-time cleaners who will help wash their toilets, sweep the compound and wash in-house gutters,cut grass,trim flowers and the like.
Print biz cards.200 copies is about N2500.00. Package yourself as a Professional Cleaning agency. Dress well like a banker and go introducing yourself to them as a Professional  House Cleaner and tell them what you can do. Focus on buildings like flats where the elites live in. However dont rule out 'face-me-i-face-you apartments.
Charge low for a start maybe N3500.00 monthly and agree once weekly cleaning with them. Get about 50 clients in an area.

Then look for unemployed young boys and girls and jobless housewives in the area who have nothing doing. Attach one person to 5 houses to clean. Pay them N2500.00 per house and your own profit is N1000 per house. Use the N20k as working capital to buy brooms and buckets and detergent and the like for cleaning.Dress your staff in overalls. Supervise them to ensure they are at their duty posts on work days.
Earning N1k per house from 50 clients will fetch you N50k monthly. This is much better than retailing recharge cards. The profit on N20k worth of recharge cards is N700.00 and you cannot sell N20k worth daily because the competition is too stiff.
Think about this idea and modify it.
Wish you the best.

@knowledge, sir,
May God continue to broaden your horizon.
I want to lift off on this project(profitable and very realistic), but will need your help in terms of guidiance and advice sir.
Here are a few challenges I have envisioned, pls help with your opinions.
1. Neglegence on part of my staff
2. Risk of being set up by wicked clients in terms of fraudulent acusations of theft, cheating inefficiency and other vices.
3. Who pays for transporting my workers to the diffrent locatioons of work.
4. Varying sizes of houses and appartments in relation to billings.
5. What will be the charging and billing system
6. Security
7. Who is liable when my staff sustains harm/injury as a result or whilst on duty. Who bares the burden/brunt
8. What sysytem can I use to be able to supervise 10people at the same time even if I put the working days on Fridays/saturdays/sundays
9. What would I have to do in terms of government registrations and labour union laws.
10.What system can I apply to guarantee loyalty and consistence on the part of my staff.

Sir, your guidiance would be a monumental priviledge, as I know I can never rapay you. Only God can and will. Thanks for your help in anticipation.

Recently i started a Waste collection in my Area in Kaduna.
I charged the resident N1000 monthly and i presently have 20 clients and more houses are been built.

Guiess Wat i don't hav a truck or boys.

METHOD
I contacted some other dude that has his biz already in place and i contracted it to him.

please you can not get such truck for 100k, the poster was refering to an old danfo bus for such amount, he futher said that if you can be able to register with the lagos state waste management associations, you can easily access bank loans to buy such trucks, the trucks when bought will be the collateral.

Waste disposal business is becoming more lucrative than before because indescriminate dumping of refuge is fast fading away. Our population is growing by the day; meaning more waste to be generated and more money to make. You can start this business without money and without experience.......
