Unlimited22: Egbons Nihilstjnr and Ibime, some things I never seem to wrap my mind around. Like, for example, how did Titus Bramble remain in the epl for so long? The level of training you get as an Englishman in the EPL is very valuable, because British players are relatively scarce in the league. Another thing is that unlike foreign players who are likely to go to any country in Europe, British players are less likely to go abroad and prefer to stay in England even if it means playing at a low level EPL club or in the Championship So you have an interesting situation where English clubs are desperate for EPL trained English talent, while English talent only wants to play in England. That's why James Milner who I first heard of in JSS3 or SS1 is still playing in EPL today. Ditto Gareth Barry. I was shocked the day I saw Dean Whitehead on the pitch for Huddersfield one day - He is from the Bramble era, i think they even played together at Sunderland. Aaron Lennon is from Milner' s Leeds set too |

i would also argue that 3 atb is just too defensive and the reason it worked well offensively last season was Diego Costa.
He was single-handedly bulldozing defenders and creating space for Hazard and Pedro.
With a fido dido striker, this formation just can't work. Instead, Conte should have adapted by providing extra support for our sunken Spaniard...either by playing a supporting striker behind him in a 442, or with an extra body in midfield a la 4231 or 433.
Conte tried to provide the support Morata needed with that 352 experiment, but we lost offensive power on the wing because our wingbacks are too foolish to patrol the wings on their own.
Another failure from him. |

Conte is not without blame this season though.
He often takes too long to react to games via tactics or the subs bench. |

Roland17: Also, switching to a back 4 and 5 as needed during this game and using Sterling as a CF. I think he has learned how to be pragmatic after last week. The guy has turned Spurs players to training cones. |
